very worried!!! just been to the loo and wiped and saw bright red blood!! starting to get cramps as well! Have phoned community midwife who told me to wait it out and either call my gp or go to A&E if it gets worse.

now i am worried that it something i have done. i took some senekot last night as have been ahem... bunged for a few days and am now worried that perhaps that has caused it. just praying that it is all ok. MW says it might be implantation bleed as the placenta is forming and burrowing into the uterine wall. Still doesnt put my mind at ease though!

mummymelling · 27/09/2006 17:21

APRILMEADOW...i know its hard babe but try to relax and stay calm, how many weeks are you hun? it wont have been anything that you have done so PLEASE dont think that it is. Is anyone with you? stay online and talk to me if you want to xxxx sending you lots of baby glue xxx and a big hug

just a thought ..are you sure the blood is p.u. not anal if you been bunged up it might be piles and the cramps from the sennokot xx

hi aprilmeadow, i was thinking the same thing as mummymelling about the bleeding. is it possible that the blood is not vaginal? i recently had a bit of blood after i pooed (tmi, i am sure) and at first i thought for sure it was vaginal but upon further examination it surely was not. i hope this is the case for you. during my last pregnancy i had a good sized bleed that ended up being absolutely nothing. there is so much going on in there with blood supply and the placenta and everything finding the right place to settle in.
take it easy. lots of love coming to you from here.

MKG · 27/09/2006 19:41

aprilmeadow,

You didn't do anything wrong. The other gals are right. It's probably nothing, but if you're worried go have it checked out. You'll feel better. Knowing what's going on if better than worring about a million things. Best of luck.

largeginandtonic · 27/09/2006 20:46

Congrats peacemaker so pleased for you, lots of us on here have babies close together so dont worry. Some of us crazies were not put off at all and have done it again and again and again!
Oh i hope the bleeding has all gone aprilmeadow, or it was coming from somewhere else. It must be so scary for all of you mums having such a rough time. I feel like im on borrowed time.
Huge cyber hugs to you all
Am watching gillian mckeith while eating a choc souffle...something very wrong with that.

aprilmeadow · 27/09/2006 20:47

hi ladies, thank you for all your messages. I am now possibly thinking that the cramps may have been more 'poo' related as it seems to have taken almost 24hrs for the senokot to work, thank god it worked once i had gotten home!.... sorry if tmi. Although i have had a few more little spots of blood. I am going to try and keep calm see how things are tomorrow. If i am still spotting then i will pop to our EPU and see if i can get a scan hopefully to put my mind at rest.

Bloody hormones they make your mind wander all over the shop! Part of me does keep wondering if only i hadnt taken the tablets would this still be happening...

largeginandtonic · 27/09/2006 21:57

Sure it will be ok aprilmeadow. Next time have a bowl of all bran, i have to every day or im the same as you. Its the same every time i get prg and every time i forget! Bloody 'forget it' hormones that mother nature pumps out
Hope you have a good night aprilmeadow, im off to bed with my trusty book
Night all

Tyakit · 27/09/2006 23:52

Wow, can't believe how much this thread has grown since I last checked in! We has our first scan today and there was my little beanie, with a strong heartbeat pumping away!! My dates were spot -on too and beanie measured 16.9mm which is perfect for 8wks+1day .

I have been sooo worried about this pg (3 previous MCs before DD), I was terrified this morning that it was going to be bad news and I feel so relieved now. I so want to enjoy this pregnancy and not feel like a nervous wreck the whole time like I did with dd.

pebblemum · 28/09/2006 00:01

Thats great news Tyakit, i cant wait for my 1st scan, it will make it seem more real. It wont be for another month yet though so i expect it will drag.

I had to tell ds1 today that im pg. I was planning on waiting until we had got passed the 12wk stage, just in case, but it turned out that dh's aunty has already announced it to her children so i couldnt risk ds1 finding out from them instead of me. Ds1 immediately ran out and announced it to the world, guess he is happy

Well i think its time i went to bed so will say goodnight and send everyone who is having problems/worries of any type good luck vibes. Hope everything seems brighter tomorrow x

aprilmeadow · 28/09/2006 08:05

feeling a lot more positive this morning as there doesnt seem to be any more bleeding. Starting to feel a bit daft as perhaps i should have waited it out before i had a full scale panic!

Am 9wks today so hopefully only have 3 more weeks of feeling yuk and also until i see my little bean. Just waiting for my date to come through.

Just hopped on the scales to see how much weight i have put on (thought i should have a look give that none of my trousers fit) and i have only gained 1lb. Thought it would be more than that. I am quite pleased as i dont want to put too much on as i gained 3st with ds and struggled to shift it all.

Hope everyone has a good day. Will try and 'pop in' whist at work if the bosses pop out x

pebblemum · 28/09/2006 08:42

Morning Aprilmeadow, glad the bleeding seems to have stopped.

I think at this early stage of pregnancy we all panic and fear the worst. I had bad pains in my stomach yesterday afternoon and was getting myself in a right state, it turned out to be trapped wind Roll on week 12 when we can all start to relax a little bit.

Im starting to feel nauseaus a lot more now I was hoping to avoid it again (didnt have it with the boys)but it obviously isnt meant to be. Im dreading next week, i have to spend 5hrs sat in a minibus,im not a good traveller at the best of times, but if i feel nauseau even before i go on the journey its going to be horrible.

mummymelling · 28/09/2006 10:46

Morning ladies, i trust this morning finds you all well, bloated and nauseous [well its a good sign lol]
APRILMEADOW.. so glad things have calmed down for you hunny, i was so worried about you last night, why dont you get yourself off to the EPU just to put your mind totally at rest,no point having anymore stress than you need and thats what they are there for xxx

OP posts:
largeginandtonic · 28/09/2006 10:57

Glad you are feeling ok aprilmeadow. I think this is the most stressful time in prg, yet its the time when you get the least support from family and health proffesionals. It does seem a bit backwards.
I feel a bit more sick today having been smug for a couple of days Think the hormones have gone in to overdrive, seem to be popping out my jeans by lunchtime instead of the evening...
Am considering paying for an early scan as im not sure i get a 12 week one here. How silly that i dont even know and am 9 weeks today! Do you know where i can go pebble and how much it would be?
Morning everyone else

pebblemum · 28/09/2006 11:07

LargeG&T - Im not sure where to go for a private scan maybe you can contact either your gp, midwife or hospital. Have you spoken to a midwife yet? Ive been given the details of mine and she should be contacting me in about 3wks which will make me 9wks like you are now so hopefully if you havent spoken to one already you should do very soon. I know that in Portsmouth you only get one scan, around 16-18wks i think but im going to go to Chichester this time and they give you two, three if you want the downs one at 11wks+. Do you know where you are going to have this baby yet?

I agree about the lack of support at this stage. Apart from knowing the midwives details and being given a book to read, theres not much interest in us before we reach 12wks. I know its because up until then anything can happen but surely having support is still important even if its to listen to our fears.

mummymelling · 28/09/2006 11:12

LARGER BY LUNCHTIME G&T [lol] why dont you google early pg scans and refine your search for your area,or does your hosp have an EPU that you can visit, i know BABYBOND do early scans for about 75 pounds or so

OP posts:
largeginandtonic · 28/09/2006 11:22

Have googled it mummymelling but am getting nothing back! Just a load of dead ends. I saw my gp 2 weeks ago and i asked him he said ask the midwife. I got given a piece of paper with her name on and was told she would contact me when i was between 10-12 weeks! I want a scan to check my dates and tell me how many are in there, i have a nagging feeling there may be more than one.I phoned the midwife and she is away. oh its so crap

largeginandtonic · 28/09/2006 11:23

Pebble it doesnt matter which hosp i book in to as i have the baby at home anyway so distace is not an issue if im only going for scans. Do you think i can choose which hosp to go to?

SKYTVADICT · 28/09/2006 11:25

Morning all

Glad its looking a bit better for your aprilmeadow.

I'm 9 + 1 today - saw midwife at just under 8 weeks and am now waiting for a scan date. Hopefully should be around 12-13 weeks but will need to book some time off work for it probably so would like to know.

I caved in and wore a very elastic skirt to work today - feel huge!

Good luck getting your scan LG&T

Welcome to anyone new since I last posted.

pebblemum · 28/09/2006 11:31

I was given a choice of two hospitals, not sure of what hospitals are available in Gosport but you should be given a choice, i would hate to be told i only had one option.

largeginandtonic · 28/09/2006 11:34

Hmmmmmnnnnn, may phone gp again and ask more questions. Hate the fact i have to do all the chasing, if i could have just seen my midwife to start with she could have answered all my queries. So frustrating. Thank you

scootermum · 28/09/2006 11:40

Hi all,
I too am realy massive today. How much are you meant to eat when you are this early on?I am constantly starving but I put on so much weight with dd and have only just lost it all(-ish) that im trying to avoid eating all the time like I did with her..
If you request an early scan from your GP do they have to give you one does anyone know? Im still having a bit of spotting after my little car accident on Monday and am really worried.Off to see the Dr tonight anyway..

largeginandtonic · 28/09/2006 12:07

Hi scooter the doc should send you up to the epu for a scan, be adamant that you want one. It may not be for a few days but will be worth the wait to know all is well, which im sure it is
Ive eaten a bagel, had a cuppa soup and am now munching on egg mayo wrap so far today. Had a real craving for the egg wrap, was staring at the eggs boiling wiling them too hurry u. So scary...

mummymelling · 28/09/2006 12:33

large g&t if youre dr examines you he should be able to tell you if youre large for dates and then refer you for a free early scan especially with your history of twins

pebblemum · 28/09/2006 13:14

Im envious of all you munching away, i cant face food at the moment. Today has to be the worst day so far for me. I cant seem to shift this nausea. I have been drinking plenty of water, tried eating ginger biscuits etc but nothing is working at the moment. I hate feeling like this. What makes it worse is i have a phobia of being sick so feeling nauseaus all the time doesnt help.
To make things worse ds1 is in need of a costume for school tomorrow, its book day and the theme is fantasy book characters. I had planned on sending him as an ogre but been unable to find a hessian sack for his waistcoat. I was supposed to go out today to find something but dont feel up to it. Any ideas what i can send him as that doesnt involve face paints and only uses things that i should have indoors, hes got loads of old jeans etc i can cut up
