I suspect the in laws intended the former. But, I've never cooked rhubarb so the latter is significantly more likely to happen.

I guess so. Tis from the garden. Can I just lob the sticks in the freezer then? Cut into chunks? I could stretch to steaming or baking it I suppose if that's how it's cooked...

cherrycoconut · 12/09/2014 21:50

Stewed in a pan on the hob is prob easiest Sinks, cut in 3cm ish chunks, lob in pan with a dash of water and some sugar to taste and cook on a low heat for 10-15 mins ish. Eat with ice cream.

Sorry to hear everything is so hard. The limbo and the not knowing is shit but you're doing an amazing job. Keep at it dude, hope you get some answers soon.

Yo PESH just popping by for news innit.

FriendofDorothy · 12/09/2014 21:57

I love rhubarb!

In other news we have just rebooked our disastrous Easter holiday for next year. Hoping no deaths/DVTs/other disasters will stop us going this time!

Yep. Sounds about right.

katandkits · 13/09/2014 23:58

Yes your body will be getting busy getting colustrum ready. Totally normal. You can use a,breast pad if you are leaking onto clothes otherwise don't worry.

It's probably was a bit of leakage bugs. I got it on and off from about where you are now.

FrankelandFilly · 14/09/2014 07:12

I had similar too Bugs, can't remember exactly when but it sounds totally normal.

How are you doing Sinks?

SinkyMalinks · 14/09/2014 08:49

Alright. It's tough. GHJ is struggling. I had to force him into the shower yesterday - hadn't washed/changed since Thursday. We were going to try and have a drive out to see the first game of his clubs season but last minute he decided it was too much. He's just not getting better as quick as he wants. He's totally lost confidence that he's able to tell the difference between healing/normal pain and "bad" (abscess, perforation, cancer) pain. He regularly tells me he feels worse than he did that first night, but seems to be doing a bit more and won't see anyone.

Sorry. Shit topic for an antenatal thread.

FrankelandFilly · 14/09/2014 08:52

Don't worry about that Sinks, you need a place to vent and we want to support you. Have you thought about posting in the General Health topic too, there might be people who have been in your situation and can offer advice.

SinkyMalinks · 14/09/2014 09:45

Maybe. Just don't think I'll be too receptive to the inevitable "unmumsnet hugs" and sympathetic bumps from strangers.

SinkyMalinks · 14/09/2014 09:46

Buckets loads of scampi and a narwhale or two from you hags is good though.

Fanks hags. Lovely photo on t'other place bugs.

maamalady · 14/09/2014 18:16

Quite right, bugs It's utterly shit and we all wish it wasn't happening, and we will be here for you to shout and swear and cry as much as you want to. Even in the middle of the night - I bet I'm not the only one regularly up feeding at 4am.

We went out for lunch with NCT people today. They're all lovely, but the calf is vastly superior to all their babies, obviously. Grin

maamalady · 14/09/2014 18:19

And I completely missed your birthday! Hope there was lots of Cake, bugs :)

Oh don't worry about the weight thing. It'll be fine.

As for everything else. Yes it's inconvenient and uncomfortable but that too is transient. Try to enjoy it. You might not get the chance to do it again.

katandkits · 15/09/2014 11:04

Don't worry about the weight, you don't appear to have gained loads andthere is no law that you have to lose any extra right away. The other stuff is annoying, the last month is very hard. Don't try to do too much, take it nice and easy. Rest in nice stretchy clothes! You won't be pregnant forever, and if you decided in favour of due date induction then you only have 4 weeks to go. The end is in sight. Keep your eyes on the prize and all that.
