MissH wot Bugs said. I had only one bad wave of nausea and felt extra tired a couple of times after work. But was totally fine by about 9/10 weeks. You hear so much about people being crippled by nausea/exhaustion etc that you scare yourself into thinking that's normal and that something is therefore wrong. Well it can also be normal to feel pretty much fine. I reckon a few of us on here are proof of that. I've only recently started to look back on the 1st trimester and think how lucky I was...the 2 reassurance scans I had prior to the 12 week scan really helped calm the menkul.

You are going to be fine...you and miniH!!Smile

MissHobart · 17/10/2014 20:30

Eek! miniH?! Confused Scary! But kind of exciting! That's the first referral of that kind I've had, I'm only Just starting to make a vague connection, very tentatively, to MY baby rather than "a pregnancy" Confused = exactly how I feel.

5 and a bit days, I can make it through that! The gap to 20 is going to be a nightmare!!Hmm

katandkits · 17/10/2014 21:40

Generally they let you listen to heartbeat at 16 week appointment. That reduces the menkul while you are waiting.

Most babies get a bit of jaundice, I would say the HV has seen more babies recently than your mum. Keep feeding and keep her in what little sunlight there is, she'll shake it in no time

Welcome to unsolicited parenting advice. You have lots of this to come, on feeding, weaning, sleeping, potty training, discipline, education etc etc. Does my head in
one of my SIL is bad for it, she means well but its annoying. Just keep repeating that the health visitor is happy with how she is doing. Unless your mum is a qualified paediatrician.

TheOriginalWinkly · 18/10/2014 22:09

HWCA is watching The Good The Bad and The Ugly. He loves it. Its interminable shite, shite acting, shite plot, and fuck me it goes on forever. I've had a busy busy day, good but busy, I'm so tired now my brain is slurring my thoughts. Bed.

OP posts:
katandkits · 18/10/2014 22:11

Apparently jaundice is more common on prems and also in babies who had an assisted delivery. P isn't even up to her due date yet but by the sounds of it she is doing great. Because of her mum, naturally :)

FriendofDorothy · 18/10/2014 22:50

Eliza had jaundice too.

Boob juice and sunlight should fix it I reckon.

maamalady · 19/10/2014 08:30

Winks, no! Shock The Fistful of Dollars trilogy is cinematic genius, and The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly is the pinnacle! I love those films so much. Also, Clint Eastwood is just wonderful, in everything ever. So little said, so much conveyed with expression.

That said, I imagine it doesn't look like much happens in Fistful if you're not really paying attention :)

TheOriginalWinkly · 19/10/2014 09:53

Perhaps I just need to watch it from the beginning so that the story makes sense, and when I'm not totally shattered so that I can appreciate the nuances

OP posts:
TheOriginalWinkly · 19/10/2014 09:54

Also yes, Clint Eastwood is a genius. and fit as fuck in a lot of films

maamalady · 19/10/2014 16:28

Hell yes, forty-years-ago Clint is TOTALLY on my list. Grin

MissH the first tri is awful. It does get easier. I only really relaxed a bt when I started to feel her move at around 20 weeks though.

fankle I was hugely distracted too.

bugs a touch of jaundice wouldn't be surprising but if it is mild some sunlight should sort it. If she seems very sleepy or has other symptoms, get her checked out.

We put an offer in on a new house yesterday. We're just waiting to hear if it has been accepted. If it has, that will mean new baby, new job and new house all within a few months. Eek!

FriendofDorothy · 19/10/2014 20:54

bugs I still have an ache where I had a tear down below. It feels like a dragging sensation when I am tired.

ALittleFaith · 19/10/2014 21:40

Sorry but the best Clint film is Kelly's heroes. End of. er and yes he is a bit fit in that

maamalady · 20/10/2014 04:29

I don't know that one, faif I think Dirty Harry is my favourite, though it means whenever rhymetime at the library does Row Row Row Your Boat I feel totally creeped out...

Gran Torino is also excellent, but he's a good deal older less hot in that one.

Ha ha remember the first time that happened to me. We were at the mot test centre! Used half a pack of wipes! It is amazing how such a little person can poo so much!

As for sleep it would be great if my advice worked on my own kids. It was all you can eat buffet in my bed last night! At first I used to keep a hand pump by my bed in case woke up leaking. Now I can go 8 hours at a push but wouldn't do it two nights in a row. I think they say when your supply is established you can do one formula in the evening and your body will adjust if its the same every day. At three weeks I'd be more careful though. I wouldn't want to get mastitis..

Fankletastic · 20/10/2014 18:02

Sorry to hear of the poonami Bugs but great that you got a good night. (that's ESH wisdom btw).

So hags, tell me, did any of you experience really sore arse muscles in the final trimester? I feel like I've done a thousand squats and a few hundred lunges (I haven't). What IS that? My lower back is achy too, and not just in the night and early morning. I did have quite a busy weekend of painting Fanklet's room (just the edges as MG did most of it) and tidying up the garden - so lots of bending.

Got a bit teary a couple of times whilst painting - actually it started whilst buying the paint in b&q - and again when looking at the finished room last night (well finished apart from the skirting). Feeling a bit emotional. I cried upon hearing about Linda Bellamy passing away in her husband's arms...I'd seen her on BBC breakfast about 2 weeks ago and was so shocked to see her withering away but amazed at her courage to write a very personal account of her experience of cancer.

I don't want to be a blubbering mess who can't walk up the stairs without her arse hurting! Is this really what I can expect for the next 11 weeks?

Frankel we have held off buying the uppababy as MG wants to make sure it will fit in our boot...but didn't think to actually measure it over the weekend. It's a bmw 1 series from 2009, should anyone have experience of that (?) I think it should be fine but agree we should measure before buying as would be a right bugger if it didn't fit or was a struggle to get in and out.

Sorry, fank, my back hurt through the end of pregnancy and it still does (calf almost 16 weeks now). I have just emailed a massage lady in hopes that I might recover some sort of flexibility. I never had much, but now I have even less. Totally worth it though, the calf is AWESOME Grin
