Last day at work done n ds has finished his first half a term of school so a week doing fun things with him next week albeit easy fun things.

amy83firsttimer · 17/10/2014 17:47

Yay for finishing work. Had lovely day today, DH's day off because he works Saturdays. Had his parents round for lunch and a walk in the park with the neighbour's dog then a couple of hours reading \ slobbing then out for curry with his brother and wife. Hope curry doesn't kickstart anything as I need to be 37 weeks to use MLU and that's not til Monday.
I've been reading Birth Skills by juju sundin the last few days and I think it's quite useful. It was a handmedown from neighbour / fb acquaintance.

ladydolly · 17/10/2014 19:20

Good news here, decided to ask my boss if I can use my holiday to do half days next week and he's agreed and said I don't have to use my holiday because of the 75 hour weeks over the last month!! So happy!

Babydolly also doing stretches that are quite painful but that's normal for us.

37+1 here!!!

weeonion · 18/10/2014 00:02

evening all! how you all been?

39 weeks now!!

I am really sorry t not give yo all personal responses..

I anted to share hough with all those worried about position - my transverse baby moved. i decide not to follow the hospital route - they wanted me admitted at just over 37 weeks with monitoring and a planned csection around this stage. if baby would have moved afte admision - i was for an induction and accelerated labour. i had the support of my dp and my hmebirth nidwife and just didnt go to last consultant appt to avoid the stres and pressure. i cold say what did it - spining baby inversions, moxibustion, reflexology etc etc but who cares - it has moved and i am stillon my homebirth pathway..... I was told it was unlikely it would move at a late stage and i am so glad i got the support to stick to my guns....

...... the next battle with be avoiding induction. due to my age - they have me booked for induction at due date. I will compromse with them and have monitoring every 3 days and additional scans but not accepting induction.

i decorated my hoembirth "zone" tonoight - where the pool i sgonna go. my dd has written some affirmations and drawn me some pictures. i have positive messages from my dp and some friends. the scan pictures are up with my twinkly lights , a glitter lava lamp, my oil burners and oils at the ready.... good to go !!

Blamber - ta for your message!

any more births on fb thread? winter and maths - this could be your week then?

WinterLover · 18/10/2014 06:07

weeonion that is fantastic news!! I'll put my money on the less stress reason why baby turned.

Im trying not to stress but baby has 4 days to arrive or im shoving a cork up there till 40 weeks. My dad goes back to work next week. He missed DS being born, and I so wanted him to meet his new grandchild straight away this time Sad

weeonion · 18/10/2014 08:15

Ta winter! Here's hoping wintermini comes along soon to meet granda. 4 days is a long time at this stage!!

WinterLover · 18/10/2014 08:26

DS has just given me a hug and said "mummy I want your baby out your belly, I'll get your ball ready" Grin

Im more excited about him meeting his brother or sister than I am about the birth I think!

Strawberryfield12 · 18/10/2014 09:09

weeonion that's fantastic news! So happy for you and one more baby heading for nice natural birth. Stay strong and don't let anybody to pigeonhole you because of few years one way or other!

Big hug!

amy83firsttimer · 18/10/2014 09:12

Well done WeeOnion
Annarose2014 any update?

Hopeful83 · 18/10/2014 11:40

Great news weeonion, I'm so pleased for you. Hope everyone else is holding up ok. We're all getting impatient to meet our little ones now!

Thehedgehogsong · 18/10/2014 12:18

Lovely news WeeOnion :) your birth zone sounds lovely!

Hope everyone is feeling Ok at this impatient stage. I am suffering with a virus, just a temperature and a cough. The cough is scary, it hurts my stomach and I feel like I'll cough the baby out! Bad timing!

Annarose2014 · 18/10/2014 13:57

Hello all, baby fine, it appears stressed mummy = stressed baby. So DH has put his foot down and from now on no more of the Carer job, & taking a back seat with Dad's care too. He is also taking paternity leave from next Tuesday to mind me.

I won't lie, its nice to be minded. I'm usually minding everyone else.

Baby is much more easy/normal in his movements today, though hiccuping loads!

Resting a LOT today. I think I need it.

utopian99 · 18/10/2014 16:25

That's a good thing I think annarose, definitely time for someone to look after you for a bit!
Also great news weeoinion!

Just had our nct refresher course, really nice people and a good excuse for a natter and a lot of biscuits. Grin Also hopefully a chance to meet up with some rl second timers post births...

weeonion · 18/10/2014 18:53

Annarose - so glad you are gonna get a bit more of a rest. You deserve it and need it to focus on next stage!
Hey utopia - glad it went well. It sounds like a good chance to make contacts for rl contact!

catg83 · 18/10/2014 19:10

Wee onion- great news. I am spending lots of time leaning forward and doing inversions to get this little one away from back to back.

Last day of work today, such a relief to know I don't have to commute on the bus or stand up for long periods of time. Hopefully it will help the PGP too. X

excitedforbaba · 18/10/2014 21:43

Cat what all advice have you been given to turn a back to back baby?
consultant just announced it has time to turn but I'm panicking that I'm going to run out of time before labour!!

Horispondle · 18/10/2014 23:42

Hi ladies, I've been lurking from day 1 but have been shy to post but it's getting close now! I'm 35+4 with DC2. Have had terrible SPD all through the pregnancy and has been getting me down. Having a nice lavender and clary sage oil bath to try relieve the pelvis pain before bed.
Has anyone else been measuring big/small? I was bang on my measurements every midwife appt with DD but I was measuring 3cm behind on Monday. Managed to get an extra scan and they said baby was on the 5th percentile which is apparently within the accepted range. But then I burst into tears getting off the bed, due to the pain of the SPD not the baby's size, and I think the poor sonographer thought I was excessively worked up about things and arranged for me to see and consultant next week anyway. Wondering if anyone else has experience of measuring wrong? Last baby was 8lb 7oz so big-ish (?) DH and I are both short so she was bigger than we were expecting!

weeonion · 18/10/2014 23:44

This bubba us head down, but not engaged and back to back. I am doing plenty of time on all fours....

Jeez - I dont think I realized that all this work has to go into birthing prep. Did not do any of this with DD!

I feel for all of you trying to sort out lies and positions! This time a month away, most of us will be on the postnatal threads engaging a Whole different set of tales and experiences...WinkSmile

Loaf99 · 19/10/2014 09:19

I discovered a mole yesterday which had grown from flat to x4 the size and raised. Went to docos and he said fine and come back after birth. It happens with all the hormones that they go a bit crazy. It is on my lady garden if you will front left so I preferred the old mole! Anyone else had this?

Strawberryfield12 · 19/10/2014 09:44

loaf I have a number of moles appearing bigger.

Thehedgehogsong · 19/10/2014 10:20

Well I think I might be nesting. After a whole day of tidying and organising I went to bed and woke up every hour thinking of something to do. When I convinced myself to stay in bed the baby began kicking like mad all night and I was roasting hot, so I was up and down all night anyway!
Late pregnancy is super fun!
I don't think baby is head down still, I'm trying not to worry about it, I'm sure s/he will turn towards the exit at the right time...!

Annarose2014 · 19/10/2014 15:23

Horispondle I honestly think MWs can be waaaay off with measuring. At 36 wks mine said I was measuring 38 weeks, had a subsequent scan and its fine. Very long legs only, which was prob the cause of the confusion.

My sonographer also said even estimated weights by scan can be off by 20%.

So take it with a pinch of salt.

Annarose2014 · 19/10/2014 15:32

I am 38 wks today & becoming properly debilitated. Can walk for only 20 mins at a time, rolling very side to side, with a lot of cervical pressure/pain. That wierd funnybone feeling in my hoo ha! Can do absolutely nothing around the house.

I had NO IDEA things would get this bad so "early". Some people are still in work when turning 38 weeks! Meanwhile I am spending a lot of time in bed, utterly shattered.

I am starting to wonder if this means I'll go early, but have no idea as have no experience. Due date = 1st Nov.

No Braxton Hicks really, but instinctively feels very like the endgame. Very very restless & anxious to give birth. Dying for MW appt on Wednesday! Though doubt she could tell me much lets face it!

amy83firsttimer · 19/10/2014 16:26

Feeling exactly the same Annarose2014 but not due til 10th. Can walk for about 30-40 mins but get that weird cervix tingle quite quickly - not retiring to bed so much as sofa but napping nearly every day. How do people work til they pop?!?!?!?
