Ooh, exciting news maths!

Moggle, I'd keep that screen open on your desktop until home time ;)

haventgotaclue1 · 16/10/2014 16:18

Hope all is going well maths!

One more day of work left - yippee! Just had a moment of realisation this afternoon that I'm gonna have a Bean Grin - so excited!

Thehedgehogsong · 16/10/2014 16:34

Good luck maths Grin

I've got 1 more week of work, horray! So so tired and my back is really hurting from standing all day. I am definitely waddling now and having some awful pains, very contraction-like, I'm in the bath trying to calm them down!

haventgotaclue1 · 16/10/2014 16:50

How's it going hedgehog? My back is also giving up on me now - one of the downsides of being tall and pregnant. .. aches when I lay in bed; when I sit down and when I stand up. ...anyone got a magic cure? !

utopian99 · 16/10/2014 17:23

Good luck maths! (Any news? Haha- that question was the bane of my life last time. .)

Had to commute from e17 to w10 at rush hour carrying a site bag and a set of books this morning - fun fun fun! Also looks like that job will start on site the day before my due date. Ace - at this rate I'm looking at a rather short/punctuated mat leave Hmm.. Have a new appointment with fees that were too good to turn down, but painfully aware this means I need all of the last four weeks of drawing time - this one had better be late again!

utopian99 · 16/10/2014 17:23

Ooh and hedgehog how are you? When were you due?

Thehedgehogsong · 16/10/2014 17:27

Due date isn't until 27th nov, plenty of time to go, it's stopped now I've rested a bit. It must be from too much hard work. My legs are the size of tree trunks when I get home from standing up all day!

Well one of the ways I knew baby had turned was that the hiccups were in my groin, lol.

So possibly baby is still transverse for you.

WinterLover · 16/10/2014 20:17

hiccups im my groin too, very odd feeling

catg83 · 16/10/2014 20:39

Evening all.

With hiccups I have had them all over but generally high up on the left but I think I have a very moveable baby!
First NCT class tomorrow and then Saturday is my last day of work. Cannot wait. X

Strawberryfield12 · 16/10/2014 20:50

Most of the time hiccups have been in the upper bump, but my baby has been transfers most of the time either. After several evening of flipping exercises, she has been moving like crazy and this morning I woke up at 4am from her kicking and hiccuping in my left leg. I guess she is lying better then she used to, but probably still not properly head down, down.

keepon that's a really tricky one. Both mine were emcs. Definitely not the easy option, as you say. First was undiagnosed breech, second I went into labour 8 hours before planned c section, but failed to progress so ended up with an emcs. This time elective cs and hoping she waits until the 4th. We shall see. I found it so tiring to have labours and then c sections. I would love to go in on a set day and for it to go as planned, for once. Although there's a large part of me which feels ready to have baby now to be honest. Especially since growth scan showed her to be huge a few weeks ago.

Hope maths and baby are doing well

Keep on, definitely discuss it with the midwife to hear her opinion.

I always get hiccups down low on the left and I know that is where his head/chest is. They are getting stronger too as he grows!

Congrats to everyone finishing work. Time to relax!

No advice for backaches except baths and massages. It's weird, when my back hurts it's always high up around the shoulder blades. I thought lower backache would be more of a problem in pregnancy! It's probably to do with posture though.

blamber · 17/10/2014 09:31

Weeonion I sent you a message.

TwigletFiend · 17/10/2014 09:42

Morning, ladies. Thank you for all your support and kind words - I'm still feeling a bit down, but I think the shock of it has worn off now. Trying to keep busy because I keep seeing it in my head as soon as I stop.

Have had my fingers crossed for Maths and her LO. Not sure whether it's exciting or scary that we're only halfway through October and babies are arriving!

I am now 35+5 and definitely noticed that I've suddenly slowed down. I'm still riding my horse once a week and doing all his care, but the last week or so it's definitely taken me longer than normal to get all the mucking out etc. done. I'm very lucky that some good friends have stepped in to help keep him fit while I'm cutting back my riding and one lady has very kindly offered to book time off work over my due date to look after him, which is a huge relief - it's quite expensive to pay someone to come in and do him, so even if she only does a couple of days it is a weight off my mind - finances are fairly tight for us already and was fretting a little over how I was going to afford his care.

No idea where Bean is positioned now. Breech at last appointment, but I'm fairly sure it's still moving around a lot like yours, keepon. I do seem to get a very hard, uncomfortable lump that stretches under my right ribs around my right side quite often, especially when I'm sitting at my desk at work, so I'm thinking Bean might be transverse on those occasions. Other times I'm getting hiccups in lower left abdomen and sometimes there's limbs moving very high up, in the space under my sternum between my lower ribs. Confusing!

Two weeks left at work now - I can't wait to finish. It's amazing how tired it makes me, even though I have an office job. It's a bit embarrassing to have to stop and breathe for a few seconds after going up just one flight of stairs, too...

Glad the pains eased off, hedgehog. BabyHog has a bit longer left to cook!

utopian, don't overdo it! I don't think I could manage that now - I'd probably either cry or shout a lot.

haven't, gentle stretching is the key! Have you tried pelvic tilts? Or try sitting on a birthing ball, making sure you keep your spine as one straight column so all your vertebrae are stacked, then rotating your hips in a slow circle. Sort of like hula hooping, but on a ball. Go one way for a few circles then the other - maybe have DP on standby to spot you though in case you overbalance!

moggle, that made me laugh! Hope you took pink's advice! Grin

Hope you're doing ok too, Winter. Is all still quiet? Hope you're feeling well and less stressed now Smile

catg, enjoy your NCT class and that end of work feeling! I am very envious.

Sitting at my desk at work yes sir, MN is purely for research purposes, sir and just patted my bump - little BabyTwig just stuck an arm out the top as though it wanted to hold hands Grin

Twiglet and those of you with breech babies I'd been convinced Imogen was breech from the beginning as I had terrible pain in my right hand ribs almost constantly but strangely it always felt like the hiccups were down in my pelvis! I ended up with an EMCS which wasn't what I wanted but main thing was she was delivered safely and so far recovery has been pretty good and not too painful.

We are still in hospital as she is has lost quite a lot of weight as we've been having trouble feeding but my milk has come in now and we are on a strict feeding plan to try and get it stabilised or increasing, it's definitely been an emotionally draining week but the staff at the hospital are fantastic!

Exciting times for those of you finishing for maternity leave soon!

WinterLover · 17/10/2014 12:58

twiglet good to hear from you. Yup all still quiet here Sad awkward baby! !

Annarose2014 · 17/10/2014 15:40

A lot of quite painful movements today.....not down low though. Up high under my ribs. Baby is stretching very painfully. Really quite bad. Like its trying to push its way out of me.

What is this? Is it normal?

Very stressful few days - I am bouncing between my very distressed Dad and his doctors and social workers and GPs and public health nurses and Physios and am a weepy exhausted mess. I am scared that my state is affecting the baby, that its going to come early because I'm all strung out.

To put it onto perspective, I wasn't even this stressed or worn out working on the wards before I went on mat leave. And I was fucked then!

So these huge movements are really freaking me out! Ow Ow Ow Ow! I don't even know what to Google for. Sad

amy83firsttimer · 17/10/2014 15:47

Annarose2014 - don't Google, just call labour ward and say what you've said here and ask for monitoring. It could be a sign that baby's in distress or it's just running out of room

amy83firsttimer · 17/10/2014 15:48

Strike out fail!

blamber · 17/10/2014 16:27

I agree, Anna, give the midwife a call. Sometimes my baby really pushes his feet up my ribs which can be painful. Indeed like he's trying to break out. But since for you this is a change in movement as you've not had it before, it's best to give the experts a call.
