Congratulations mrsy! Hope you and your little girl are doing well.

I've been trying perineal massage too but it's very difficult! There's a device called epi-no that you can use instead. It's way too expensive but some ladies on the Facebook thread have found a cheaper alternative. I might get it to give that a go!

weeonion · 14/10/2014 23:39

blamber - if you can find out what that device or alterntive - please let us know. we tried it tonight - Jeez - a bit of a trial and as am over 38 weeks - a sense of panic has set in!!!!

WorkFreeWannabe · 15/10/2014 10:18

Morning Ladies!

Congratulations MrsY!! Gorgeous name and a really good weight. Hop you're enjoying lot of newborn cuddles!

Welcome Catg83. We're due date twins as I'm also due a boy on 13th

Any news Maths and Winter. Hope you're both ok?

I hope everything works out well for your Dad Anna Flowers

Had my second antenatal class yesterday. DH felt a bit of a spare part as it was all on physio and he was the only Birthing partner attending. It was still good for him to go as he now reminds me to correct my posture and make sure I'm sitting properly.

Baby is slowly spinning, now in the 'correct' position 80% of the time. He now just needs to stay there.

Off to see my friend later and her 6 week old for the first time for lots of cuddles. Couldn't go before as I've had a stinking cold for weeks!

TwigletFiend · 15/10/2014 10:56

Hi all, sorry I haven't been around. It sounds a bit silly, but my mums dogs were shot by a farmer and I've really been struggling to come to terms with it - I've been sick a lot from crying and just feel utterly and completely drained.

It's really nice to see all the good news though, especially first thread baby. Huge congratulations, MrsY. I am keeping up with and thinking of you all, even if I'm not talking. Fingers crossed for you, Winter.

Look forward to hearing more baby news soon.

twiglet that does not sound silly at all, how devastating for you and your family, you're in my thoughts. Our furry family members are just as important as others and often I find, because of their innocence, it's harder to come to terms with things like this. Huge hugs. Take care of yourself.

WinterLover · 15/10/2014 11:08

No news here grrrrr getting fed up now. On a massive cleaning and cooking mission today so maybe being on my feet will help.

Will try to catch up on posts later Grin

moggle · 15/10/2014 11:11

oh twig I'm so sorry to hear that. It's devastating at any time but when our hormones are a bit up and down it's even harder to deal with. I dread anything happening to our two cats. Since we moved into our new house we have not had the catflap fitted yet; the cats are getting frustrated (we let them out when it's light and we are home - which is not often at the mo!) but I'm secretly pleased I haven't had to worry about anything bad happening to them during this period. Couldn't deal with something happening to my little furry babies. Big hugs xxx

Annarose2014 · 15/10/2014 15:17

twiglet that sound horrendous. I am going to hug my little doggy a bit tighter today. Flowers

I just had a scan - baby is measuring 7.14lbs already! Though I know those weights are unreliable. Good news is he (yes, HE!) is perfectly fine and no problems. He is so fat! I looked at it and thought "God.....thats my son" and got all emotional.

My Dad went for a biopsy today so its such a bizarre day. Heaven and Hell! But seeing the little lad has made me really hopeful. Am dying for DH to come home to show him the pics. I think he has my lips!

catg83 · 15/10/2014 18:27

twiglet- I have a kittie with arthritis and it is so hard dealing with that at the mo. sorry to hear about your loss.
Anna rose- I would love to have a scan about now. My last one was the regular at 20 weeks and I feel seeing him would get me through these last 4.
Antenatal appointment all went well. He is head down and "on the brink" of being engaged. BUT he is back to back so I have been advised to spend lots of time on the ball and on hands and knees if comfortable. Anybody got anymore tips on turning him back to front? X

CraziesTogether · 15/10/2014 19:18

cat I had the same problem and found watching TV with pillows propped under my boobs with my bum in the air more comfy than all fours.

Better still was lying on my tummy on a giant beanbag. It worked after a few days and she moved!

ladydolly · 15/10/2014 20:05

cat On my daisy birthing class we were shown a move to get b2b babies to turn, (this will make more sense if you've ever done yoga) you start off on all fours (cat pose/table top pose) then scoop your nose down and forward towards the floor then up and forward again so your back is arched and your face is looking forward and neck stretched upwards (cobra pose). It's uncomfortable for the baby so they tend to move.

moggle · 15/10/2014 20:41

Eep, just flipping through my notes from my 34 wk app and noticed the midwife wrote "2/5 palp"... Googling tells me it doesn't mean much, but still, it's exciting things are heading the right way.
Assuming she did get bum and head the right way around..!!

WinterLover · 15/10/2014 21:16

moggle that's good news Grin means baby is where it should be!

catg83 · 15/10/2014 22:10

Crazies and lady- thanks for that. Spent the evening leaning over the end of the sofa. OH thought it was hilarious, done some bouncing on the ball. We will see where we go from here.

Mumonabroom · 16/10/2014 06:51

19 days to go here until c section. I was convinced that things were happening yesterday. I felt ridiculously uncomfortable, heart burn, lethargy and felt sick. Not normal for me and typically husband has gone on a 5 day trip today until Monday. Luckily have woken up feeling much better today, so fingers crossed little lady has decided to stay put for a few more days.

Hope you're all well.

Mathssssteacher123 · 16/10/2014 07:55

Congratulations mrsy love the name!!
Today is the day! Just waiting for a space in labour ward so they can commence induction!
It's weird to be so excited about being in pain!

excitedforbaba · 16/10/2014 07:56

weeonion · 16/10/2014 08:48

More good wishes to you maths...

WorkFreeWannabe · 16/10/2014 09:08

All the best today Maths

Oh gosh Twiglet, how awful for you. I hope you and your family are okay.

Glad to hear here's some progress with your Dad Anna

Mum nice to have a date and some finality.

Saw my friend and her newborn yesterday. I must have forgotten how small newborns are as I couldn't believe how tiny he is. He's 6 weeks and now around 9lbs but I thought he was so small. Awkward trying to hold him with the bump though. Can't wait for play dates in a few weeks/months when I can get emotional watching them play together.

ladydolly · 16/10/2014 09:35

Good luck maths!! Look forward to happy news soon!!

I'm meeting a friend and her 3 month old today, I really will struggle with holding her around my giant bump!

Made the mistake of a fb status about dragging myself to the swimming pool early this morning cue a flood of replies that I need to rest and that's why I'm tired, mostly from my DM and DMIL... I very rarely make reference to my pregnancy on there and now I'm glad I haven't!!

WinterLover · 16/10/2014 10:35

good luck maths

lady that's why I don't post about my pregnancy on there. Hope you find being in the pool relaxing

moggle · 16/10/2014 11:22

Last day at work today!! Woohoo!! Got all the actual work done yesterday so today is being spent emailing people, sorting out my inbox, and putting up with endless interruptions from my twit of a line manager. The most recent one, i was googling nursing bras at the time and he went away flustered and red faced without saying anything, haha! Got acupuncture at 5:30 so hopefully all in all a nice relaxing day. No work for a year! (yes I know babies are hard work, but at least I don't have to get dressed and leave the house for it! and my job is really dull, I don't think the baby will be!)

MrsY87 · 16/10/2014 13:22

Good luck maths!! You'll soon be cuddling your little one! Smile
