Anna It could be that she's actually 24 weeks + ? days. When people ask me I always say the week and not the extra days although im due 4th Nov and Im 33 weeks 2 days

ToniWol · 25/09/2014 13:32

Anna & Winter - am now v. confused as I'm 33 + 6 and due on the 7th Confused - I've checked a calendar and the 40 week mark is on the 7th November.

Anna - could the person you were speaking to be getting confused because some sites say that week 33 is the 34th week of pregnancy...?

WinterLover · 25/09/2014 14:02

toni that would make sense, if she's going by the email she's getting

WinterLover · 25/09/2014 14:02

I mean 34 weeks in my previous message not 24, I hate replying on my phone!!

Miskate · 25/09/2014 15:02

You've confused me! I'm also due on the 4th and i'm 34+2!

CraziesTogether · 25/09/2014 15:10

That makes sense Miskate. I'm due on the 1st Nov and am 34+a few days, so we are in the 35th week.

amy83firsttimer · 25/09/2014 16:28

I had midwife today and yet another new face. She's lovely though so I hope I'll see her again or at the birth. All seems okay but I'm still knackered even after a 2 hour nap after the midwife. Not sure how I'll drag myself through 6 more days at work.

WinterLover · 25/09/2014 17:24

oh god I'll hold my hands up! major baby brain, I am in fact 34+2 Blush

I'll crawl into a hole now...

excitedforbaba · 26/09/2014 00:36

blamber first baby and its a surprise! Sorry iv had a busy day of nesting haven't been online much today at all for a change!

haventgotaclue1 · 26/09/2014 05:34

Morning all, went to the 1st of the freebie NHS antenatal classes that I've signed up to last night - breastfeeding one. Who knew that a newborn's stomach is the size of a small marble? ??!!!

Miskate · 26/09/2014 07:02

Hahahaahaaa no worries winter, I just started to doubt the whole of my pregnancy duration for a bit! Chortle!

amy83firsttimer · 26/09/2014 08:18

haventgotaclue sounds like we had the same class. It was better than expected. DH seems to have taken it on board too which is good. I've texted in as sick / tired. I've blamed the flu jab but don't think it's that really, just general pregnancy tiredness. It does have the effect of making 6 shifts left into 5 shifts left!!!

ToniWol · 26/09/2014 09:07

Last day. Probably all for the good as having a resurgence of the nausea on the bus.

Last NCT class last night. The chaps were nappy changing which was amusing. Was relieved to find I remembered an awful lot from my Red Cross Infant and Childcare Cert 20 years ago.

Also have plans for going to 2 Nearly New Sales this weekend. As well as paying off the furniture. It's all becoming scarily close now.

happypotamus · 26/09/2014 10:11

Winterlover Hope you are ok today and less painful.

It was my turn for the work day from hell yesterday. Short-staffing meant a 13hr shift overran by a hour. I had 20mins break in those 14hrs and was on my feet nearly the whole time, getting home at about 10pm. Today all of me aches, I'm tired and really want to go back to bed or lie on the settee watching crap TV, but my 3yr old who never usually wants to do anything has lots of plans for exploring, playing various things that mean I have to sit on the uncomfortable floor and going to the park. Tomorrow is work again and the staffing looks even worse than yesterday. Fortunately, I finish work next Thursday if I survive the 4 remaining shifts.
Then, antenatal hospital appointment on Friday where I question what happened to the arrangement that they would refer me for a meeting to discuss giving birth in the midwife-led birth centre rather than consultant-led labour ward. Officially, my medical history rules me out of the criteria for birth centre, but my medical condition has not impacted on the pregnancy at all so far and the doctors were positive that it should be ok as was agreed in my first pregnancy. It has to be agreed with the manager of the birth centre, and at my last appointment the doctor said she would arrange this, but I have heard nothing in the 8 weeks since.

Annarose2014 · 26/09/2014 10:29

Congrats on your last day, ToniWol!!!

happypotamus do you work in a hospital? That sounds horrendous. Not long to go now at least. Try to get some rest today - Lord knows I know the feeling though of not being able to really relax when you have a day off in between two shit days. You have that "Sunday feeling" throughout.

And next week I would just call in sick one of the days. Fuck it. Say its sciatica or something vague but debilitating. I was fully prepared to do that on my last week. In the end, I got a surge of giddy adrenaline cos I knew it was my last week, but I would have done it, definately.

After two days of inversions, I have got the baby to move his feet out of my bladder and now appears to be transverse again, right to left with the legs fairly high, kicking in my upper left quadrant. I'll keep trying as he obviously hasn't run out of space to move yet.

But am becoming philosophical about it as he appears to love this position all along so may never move out of it. I still have a terrible fear of C sections but its in the lap of the Gods, isn't it?

TwigletFiend · 26/09/2014 11:07

Morning, ladies. I hope this makes sense - well and truly exhausted after yesterday's conference. Up at 4:45, went to get horse in (in the dark, with torch!), got home, changed, left for conference at 6:15, got back to the office to drop stuff off at 16:00 and promptly got collared by office manager, 'Oh Twiglet, could you just do this for me before you go?', so left work at normal hour in the end (17:00) and then had to walk the 2 miles up the hill to my house as boss picked me up for conference this morning and had no car at work. Then also had to go and sort out horse, sort out house... My brain is mush today. My sales calls are going to be a disaster. Also have to pick up the boss' dry cleaning while I'm out, which for some reason is making me giggle like a hysterical loon Hmm

BUT on the plus side... First baby from my NCT group born last night! A little boy, 9lb 3oz. To quote the lady, 'Not the easiest birth but we're all ok. Couldn't have done it without my DP, his support was invaluable.' So at least that's some good news to perk me up this morning! Smile

happy, try to rest as much as possible today. It sounds like you had a horrendous day yesterday. Feet up!

Toni, congratulations on reaching the finishing line for work! Hope you thoroughly enjoy the end-of-day feeling this afternoon Grin

Winter and anna, hope you're both feeling ok today.

haven't, I was amazed by the marble thing too. So tiny! But it grows so fast, no wonder they need to eat constantly Shock

amy, hope your work countdown is helping to get you through.

Twiglet what is your situation with the horse going forward? I don't think you'll be able to do it much longer. Or indeed should do it much longer, to be frank. Do you have someone waiting in the wings to take over?

I ask cos I'm a Carer & have sorted cover for 4 weeks (which can start whenever I become unable to continue) and it strikes me that you're in the same boat except with a horse instead of a person!

Mumonabroom · 26/09/2014 16:15

Sorry to hear about all the complications. I always find the end of my pregnancies stressful. I'm currently at home, having been sent home from work as I felt really hot and queasy, very suddenly. I fear it may be sickness bug which is doing rounds in DSs nursery. Yuck.

Had my consultant appointment on Monday. Apparently I'm measuring small, so I had an unexpected scan. Turns out baby is massive, on the 95th percentile. Thank goodness c section now booked for nov 4th! Apparently she weighs 5lb10oz already! I think I'm 33+6, but could have that wrong by a few days. Definite baby brain going on at the moment, even worse than usual.

happypotamus · 26/09/2014 20:11

AnnaRose Yes, how did you guess?!
Am exhausted today, not surprisingly. Not sure I'm going to get up and do it all again tomorrow but don't really have any choice. I took DD to the park for a couple of hours today, and, other than that, tried to avoid joining in with her games. I feel bad about that, because I will hardly see her for the next week with my shifts and her pre-school days and my mum needing to look after her at her house on Thursday instead of mine which apparently means she needs to stay the night. Is it nearly bed time yet?!

Twiglet Sorry your work was so crap too. Hope you have a restful weekend.

Annarose2014 · 26/09/2014 22:29

I guessed cos that was my life too! Up to two weeks ago. Grin

I still think you should call in sick on Thurs!

Mumonabroom · 27/09/2014 03:16

So I spent an eventful hour at out of hours Dr. Was seen straight away but couldn't leave as I was sick so much. Ended up getting wheeled back to the car, after an anti sickness shot and some pills to take. Now my youngest has the same bug. Longest night ever. Now seems all quiet and drugs working. Uggh.

Petal26 · 27/09/2014 04:22

Oh no mum, hope you feel better. :-(

Been awake for about an hour and half how, given up and come downstairs for cake and a cup of green tea, eating chocolate cake at 4am frowned upon? Grin

TwigletFiend · 27/09/2014 11:11

Petal, we won't tell if you don't!

Feeling a bit wobbly today. Baby quiet yesterday and again this morning. Have called MW for advice and waiting for a call back. Has been movement both yesterday and today, but quieter than normal. Hoping little Bean is just getting too big to move as much.
