Annarose - i am 43 so an,oldie!!!

I am perfectly healthy, no underlying health probs, great blood pressure so really at this stage no reason to induce.

Great idea for stats update! Will add date later when on laptop - too much for phone to handle!

pink - midwife told md I could have the whopping cough jab up until 38 weeks.

is anyone having the flu jab?

I had my whooping cough jab today, my arm was asleep for a few hours afterwards! Don't think I will have the flu jab, I didn't have one last year with ds2. May change my mind yet though.

Weeonion ignore all those induction obsessed people, your baby will know when he/she is ready to come. 43 is not an end of the world, also it is not your first baby, so tell them to back off, women after 40 also deserve a nice birth.

I am 38 with DC1, no-one has mentioned me about induction (apart from a silly leaflet from 35/39 study, which I chucked in the bin straight away). To all fairness my midwife is one of the most reasonable NHS med personnel I have met. Hate when doctors make judgements based on passport data not on the actual med findings and test results of the particular person! The same way they might have suggested to induce somebody bcs of their ethnic background etc!!

As to whooping cough, NHS recommend to have it by 38 weeks. I am not too keen to get any jabs during pg, but also want to protect my baby. So talked to MW about possibility to get vaccine straight after the birth as that way I would give baby antibodies through the breast milk. My respect for my MW went up incredibly high when she didn't went to slag me off for trying to do smthg what is not according to strict NHS guidelines. She actually recognised that I would give baby antibodies this way, but probably there would be more if I would get a vaccine, say, on week 38. Her attitude actually made me more relaxed about the whole vaccine thing and I started to consider getting vaccinated once the baby is considered full term and not to wait till the birth.

Looks like we've got lots of surprises to be had from the stats, I don't know how you're all doing it, I had to know!

Sorry if I've caused a panic with the whooping cough jab, my midwife said between 28 and 34 weeks.... :-s

I'm hoping to get the flu jab next week, they weren't keen to do both at the same time yesterday. I lost a stone and a half a couple of years ago over Christmas from catching flu at school, if the jab ever gets offered to me I'll jump at the chance, can't imagine catching it and then having to look after a newborn and a toddler!

I had the flu jab on the same day as whooping cough last week. Hadn't really thought about it beforehand (nurse offered it cos they had just arrived in that day), and last time I had flu was about 16 yrs ago. But I liked the idea of passing the antibodies on, and also being less worried about getting out and about with new baby amongst snuffly coughing people...

Just had some really sad news, our SIL has just miscarried at 8 weeks :-( so gutted for them, it would have been their DC2. Makes me realise how lucky we were, though it took ages to get pregnant in the first place, it has been plain sailing since then.

Thanks for the mothercare tip, petal! I got some nursing bras too.

There is a google doc list but the problem is that many of us are on a phone or tablet and couldn't access it so it's a good idea to start a new list!

Does anyone have the bt 200 baby monitor? Is it good? I am looking for one that just has audio.

So sorry about your sil, moggle. I know how lucky I am too. It took us a year to conceive but luckily it's been going ok so far, despite the low papp-a and associated risks. Still anxious every day that something could go wrong though.

Evening all, if someone does have a baby monitor recommendation I'd be keen to know.

pinkgirly I just found out about whooping cough vaccine having heard not a peep from midwife. im booked in for when im nearly 35 weeks. nhs website says ideally have 28-32 but fine up to 38 weeks.

lily we have the midrange BT monitor - audio only but really fab clear sound. it has a nightlight and 'talk back' feature which is handy. if I was buying again though I'd go one up and get the one that plays lullabies too - you can start them remotely which is handy.

I am on phone so will try to add stats to list later but im due dc2 surprise 9/11, dd was born aug 2012 at 40+2.

I didn't really do/get any nesting last time but this time I'm going crazy with it! trying to take it a bit easy too.

huge respect to all you mums working right to the end. hope your bosses will let you take itva bit easy in those last weeks xx

Getting really bad period pains not contraction like, just that time of the month pain. Kept me disturbed all night and its still here this morning. I remember them getting bad a few days before DS arrived will be putting my feet up today thats for sure.

How is everyone else doing?
