Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
Mumonabroom · 21/09/2014 20:11

I was a member of the fb group and only joined a couple of weeks ago. They have all bonded and it's probably just me, but I felt a bit of an outsider as they all knew each other already. The group is closed to new members. If anyone fancies setting up another, I'd be up for joining. I've had so much on with my 2 kids, I didn't give joining that group any thought until very recently. Hope you and all your bumps are well.

Mumonabroom · 21/09/2014 20:11

Ps I decided to leave the group earlier on as felt right thing to do.

WinterLover · 21/09/2014 20:14

Thanks for your comments, baby has woken slightly. Had a good 10 movement's whilst trying to get DS to sleep. Wondering if its had a growth spurt, was mega hungry all day yesterday. Plus I've been hardly getting any sleep so physically drained.

Finally got the Mumsnet App working on my phone again so hope to be back on here more Grin

weeonion · 21/09/2014 20:14

Gingerelle - give folks a chance. Those around today / past few days aren't on fb group. Its up to one of those guys to see yr message and let you know. No-one is excluded.

Many of us have chosen not to join the fb group. I prefer to keep FB & MN seperate. It is a shame that the thread gets alot quieter when folks move in to FB but its great to see old and new posters here.

Gingerelle · 21/09/2014 20:25

thx for responses all re fb page, although from below post by previous fb member it is clear the group has definitely been closed to new members which is a shame.

seems there are a couple of us at least still interested in a fb page - I will see if my technical skills extend to setting one up and post a link here for anyone else who's missed the boat on the original one.

Mumonabroom · 21/09/2014 20:27

Weeonion there is something to be said for keeping them separate, just FB easier to follow on my phone. The group is closed now, I asked when I was still on it. I completely respect that decision, although it does seem rather early as babies aren't due until Nov, but it's a case of whatever works for them, have to respect that.

Now to wait for Downton, with a v kicking bump following a hefty Prezzo meal, including dessert... Smile

Mumonabroom · 21/09/2014 20:28

Gingerelle count me in please. I need a new baby refresher. I'm more used to a toddler and preschooler. Completely feel out of the loop with anything else!

WinterLover · 21/09/2014 20:34

Mumonabroom Im the same DS is now 3 and im scared of having a newborn again!

If you need help with a FB group, i dont mind helping Grin

pinkgirlythoughts · 21/09/2014 20:36

I think it's quite nice to join a facebook group after babies are born, sometimes I like being able to say minging TMI pregnancy stuff via the anonymity of mumsnet that I wouldn't want to say to people who know who I really am, even in a private group!

Glad baby's perked up for you, Winter. Worrying when they go quiet, isn't it?

Gingerelle · 21/09/2014 20:41

ok if anyone would still like to join an FB group I have started another so please just pm me, I can tell you my name and then I think we need to be fb friends and then I can add you. you can then 'de-friend' me (I think) if you'd prefer once you are on the group. think that should work!

I will try and renember to post on here again in coming weeks for others who join this group late and would like to join fb group.

WinterLover · 21/09/2014 20:41

Oh god yes pink I moan when baby wakes me up, never lets up kicking but as soon as its quiet I worry. Poor thing cant win

Mumonabroom · 21/09/2014 20:57

Winter it's petrifying! Haha. You'd think it was natural the 3rd time round. I remember with #2 I felt clueless

Vicky5910 · 21/09/2014 22:20

Gosh bump is weird tonight. Painful shooting pains in cervix for a few days and now it's painful braxton hicks across the bump and in my back :( at least 7 more weeks of this Shock

Annarose2014 · 21/09/2014 22:58

weeonion I almost cried at the day you had! Sad

Mind you, I am very soppy these days. Had a blub tonight at the Thompsons ad where the bunny gets to go on holiday! Blush

I'm on FB but am one of those people who is really only on it to see updates - I have only about two pics of myself, zero personal information in my profile, and have ruthless privacy settings which won't even let people tag me in their pics!

(In my defense my friends are far too fond of posting messy drunken pics of everyone they know)

So am definately more comfortable with the anonymity here. No way do I tell my friends half of the graphic pregnancy stuff I blab on here! Grin

WinterLover · 22/09/2014 05:05

vicky I think our bodies are starting to struggle. I only got to 35/36 weeks before mine gave up with DS.

Got a poorly DS tonight. He's had a cold for a week or so but yesterday and last night seems to have got a lot worse. Think a day off nursery and a trip to the doctors is in order. I've been up since 4am trying to settle him but he sounds so wheezy Sad

Mumonabroom · 22/09/2014 08:13

Winter I'm sorry to hear about DS. Both mine have horrid coughs. Nothing worse than seeing them ill.

WinterLover · 22/09/2014 09:00

Its a good job I decided at 4am he wasnt going to nursery, we both woke up at 8. He sounds worse so at the doctors today.

DP had a stupid call on his phone from a company asking him when he would be getting there at 5.30 this morning, several problems with that. 1) he was in bed, 2) he has not spoken or had any correspondance from the agency since he told them to take him off their books 2 weeks ago, 3) if he was meant to be there today he'd have received 2 emails on friday one from the agency and one from the company, and a text from the agency, and he didnt receive any of these! So annoyed as its made him look like a twat to the company, and woke him and me up. Plus scared the crap out of me, \i hate phones ringing at that time of the morning

ToniWol · 22/09/2014 09:08

Definitely starting to struggle here. Mentally as well as physically. I keep having problems with my words and this morning I was rushing around like a mad woman as I was convinced I was going to be late when it suddenly struck me that I'd completely got my times wrong and was half an hour ahead of myself...

However. Major works got done this weekend. Managed to get the nursery cleared out so we can start on the painting once I've started my leave next week.

Also. On the advice of the midwife running the antenatal classes I'm going to see if I can get an appointment with the consultant to try and understand why she wants baby monitored throughout labour. I've had touch wood a problem free pregnancy so far and as I'd like to use a birthing pool I want to know why she's said this. I've never seen her so she's recommended based purely on my notes!

weeonion - that sounds like a horrific day.

Kantha · 22/09/2014 13:42

Joining the sick DS club too.

I was just about to haveanap listen to my natal hypnotherapy track when pre school called to say DS has gone pale, not eating lunch, tummy ache. I collected him and he was promptly sick on the pavement outside Sad. Thankfully we hadn't got into the car. He seems ok sitting on the sofa, so I will have to see if there is more to come (there usually is).

I now have a problem of going to my MW appointment tomorrow. I haven't been seen for 5 weeks and am now 34 weeks so I feel like I need checking. However all the appointments are at the hospital, so I can't bring DS with me as he has a bug; DH is flat out at work, and I don't feel like I can ask friends to have him as they have children of their own that I wouldn't want to infect Confused.

Vicky5910 · 22/09/2014 13:45

Kantha I'm sure they wouldn't mind him at the hospital if he stops throwing up by then, take his own toys so he doesn't touch anything there? Or would your midwife put back the appointment by a couple of days?

Kantha · 22/09/2014 13:54

Your probably right Vicky. I have tried to call them but they are quite tricky to get through to.

Kantha · 22/09/2014 13:57

He is now on second helpings of cheese and oatcakes. This is either a good sign or I will be washing the sofa cushions in 45 minutes...

Kantha · 22/09/2014 14:55

Spoke to MW. If he is not sick again then bring him along and "lots of hand gel darling!" Grin

Vicky5910 · 22/09/2014 15:36

That sounds sensible!
I just had a midwife appointment, and sobbed on the poor woman for most of it. I am sick of feeling crap! She thinks I should stop working.
Anyone know if I can get signed off until 36 weeks then put on mat leave, and not have it affect my pay or maternity pay either?

Annarose2014 · 22/09/2014 15:46

Vicky how many weeks are you now & how many more until mat leave?

I've just done a big shop in Tescos and it half killed me. I'm just 34 weeks today and it occurred to me as I was pushing the trolley painfully across the car park that I could still be in work! Shock

I couldn't be still doing it - I'm huge and slow and everything hurts.

I am a massive advocate now of stopping early - its just too fucking hard. Get a sick note, Lord knows it won't be the first they've seen.
