I can't be the only one due in May 2015... So here goes, a shiny new thread.

I have to sneak in here to discuss all things pregnancy/baby related because this is a surprise DC5! Shhhh! Don't tell anyone!

Evening ladies Smile

6w today and and the all-day feeling-a-bit-sick is kicking in. I was like this last time - rarely threw up but felt sick most of the day from 6w till about 10w. Only thing that helps is nibbling constantly. I'm going to double my body weight in the first trimester at this rate!

Am taking pregnacare, as my diet is atrocious at the moment. Just I think it's just cod liver oil you need to be careful of because it's high in the bad form of vit A. The pregnacare fish oils are omega...something. I think .

aberjen · 17/09/2014 18:55

x-post - welcome catnap! Fingers crossed for you.

Thisisrock · 17/09/2014 19:32

Hi Everyone and welcome to the newbies!

went to the GP and she didn't really have anything to say to me - she trawled through some books and the internet Hmm and concluded that I needn't worry. So I am trying not too.

Upping my walking daily to try and keep active and I think its helping to stave off the sickness so far, walked 7 miles today Smile

Also taking pregnacare, but always forget to take it with my main meal!!

Turquoisetamborine · 17/09/2014 19:40

Congratulations Catnap. I hope you are lucky this time. What stage were your other losses?

I'm still not feeling sick at 5+5. I didn't with my last pregnancy either so hopefully I'll be lucky as I don't know how I would manage now my H is working away. Miss him already. He's been a good help with the cleaning and looking after us since I've been so tired.

I'm thinking my booking in appointment is going to be really early at 6+6 compared to all of you. I'm looking forward to it though!

Justyouwaitandsee · 17/09/2014 19:40

Thanks aberjen - I know what you mean. I'm sure they must be safe but I am just always a bit nervous about taking lots of supplements.

Haven't felt too bad today and for the first time this week I finally felt like eating dinner. Treated myself to fried egg and homemade chips. (Just made sure I cooked the eggs as fully as I could)

KittyandTeal · 17/09/2014 19:47

Please may I join? Bfp yesterday for second DC, already have dd who is 2 next week.

I'm scared and excited, more scared about how I'll manage 2. Oh and we're selling our small house for a bigger one. This pregnancy happened much quicker than we expected, was more a case of not trying not to get pregnant!

LinaDee · 17/09/2014 19:56

Welcome to all the new people Grin wishing you all healthy pregnancies!

We're gonna need a new thread soon ladies!
Im feel quite good today, apart from the tiredness. Enjoying time to chill and for the first time in ages I'm being cautiously optimistic that this might actually go ok.

Sorry to all of you suffering from MS. I've always been quite lucky that way. Hope it eases soon.

Catnap1 · 17/09/2014 20:23

Thank you Turquoisetamborine. My first was 8 weeks and 2nd 6 weeks 4 days. Just trying not to think about it too much but easier said than done as I'm continually feeling sick but can strangely manage to stuff my face! I hoping this is a positive as I didn't feel like this with the previous 2.
Roll on 30th September for my 8 week scan!

SmileyScooby · 17/09/2014 20:40

Evening all, just catching up on everything! Welcome to newcomers, nice to see some names from the sept ttc bus.

I'm currently 5w+6/6w, no ms yet, but bloated (so uncomfortable yesterday not too bad today) tired and bowels keep changing their mind!! (how lovely!!). Have been getting a sickly feeling in back of throat some evenings but nothing else. I bought new work trousers in July...and they are already feeling uncomfortable...don't really want to have to buy new ones yet (kinda sucks as I'd finally got back to an 18 in work trousers (I've got weird body shape...big thighs, smaller waist but pouch of fat below belly button so always had to get size 20 to do up zip but then were too big round waist and legs...) but it's all good I suppose!)

We've told parents and siblings (couldn't keep it in anymore!!) and all very pleased for us. Am going out with our friends at the weekend for a friends birthday meal...I'm driving so no booze excuse sorted, just hope MS doesn't kick in before then!!!

winnie1981 · 17/09/2014 21:02

Hello everyone! WinkWinkWink Loads of us on the bus now!!

Feeling fine apart from the rare moments of nausea.

I had a call from the hospital mw on Friday and then my community mw rang on Saturday morning.
I have my booking in appointment on 2/10 and I am waiting for a dating scan date!

My dd is going to be 2 next week too so it's all fun getting things ready for her!

Fluffeh · 17/09/2014 21:12

Eek should I worry that I haven't heard from my mw or have a booking in appointment yet? Last time I was seeing a consultant for pre conception advice but discovered I was already pregnant so she sorted it all.
I've seen my GP who said he'll sort it, should I just wait it out? I'm only 5+3 so have a few weeks yet Smile.

Justyouwaitandsee · 17/09/2014 21:35

I'd call the surgery fluffeh you know, 'just to double check the process and you haven't overlooked something you should have done' Wink

That's what I did and the receptionist was lovely and very happy to reassure me about what would happen.

HariboBrenshnio · 17/09/2014 22:56

Just spent my evening at the OOH's doctor with my 11 month old, he's got gastro and can't keep a thing down poor boy!

I'm so tired. I remember being exhausted last time too. I shut my eyes on the couch earlier for a second and got a swift whack to the face by DS so apparently that's not allowed!

Lovely to have such a busy board Smile I hope those that want symptoms get them soon and those that don't manage to keep them at bay!

Mitchey · 18/09/2014 09:48

turquoisetambarine I always find it amusing when first time mums get excited about the midwife booking in app, they're almost as non eventful and useless as all the other midwife appointments and such a let down unless you enjoy giving blood, lol

Drewanna · 18/09/2014 11:19

Hi folks,
As a newbie to the whole baby/child world I'm finding I don't understand some of what I'm reading. I'm in my 5th week only. Why do some people say 5+4 etc? It's probably really obvious but I can't find the answer myself.

NoRoomForALittleOne · 18/09/2014 11:39

5+4 = 5 weeks + 4 days

OP posts:
Threesoundslikealot · 18/09/2014 11:43

In my experience, first time round you know 5+4, second time round you know you're five weeks and by the third time you know it's just a very, very long time before you get to see a baby. I honestly can't think right now how many weeks I am - 5 or 6!

NoRoomForALittleOne · 18/09/2014 11:49

I would advise against being to precious about being so many weeks and so many days until you've had your dating scan especially if you are very sick. I remember crying when my date was put back two days because in my mind it just added on two more days of vomiting hell to my pregnancy.

BB01 · 18/09/2014 11:52

Welcome new joiners!!

Are ladies who already have one finding it difficult to actually imagine having two children to look after after?! I keep wondering how I'll cope when I'm more heavily pregnant but the actual idea of the baby being here with then nearly 2-year-old DD seems just too far fetched to even contemplate!

MsMittens · 18/09/2014 12:00

Hi all

Kitty thank so much for the list further up the thread. Great to see all the name and all the newbies! Next time someone is updating could you please change mine to read DC#2.

I have most come on to say...........I'm tiiiiiiiiirrrrrrrrrrrred (whiney voice). I feel like I cannot say this any more in real life with wanting to punch myself and that you would all understand. I was thinking that I did really remember the first trimester last time around, and now I know why because when I wasn't at work I was clearly asleep Grin.

Feeling for those with bad MS. At least the toilets are getting a lot of hugs and they are usually so under appreciated Wink.

Drewanna · 18/09/2014 12:25

Thanks Noroom and Three,
It really was obvious. Also just wanted to say thanks for the thread in general. My DH is so overwhelmed that's it's happened at all he can't voice anything yet. He's just mooching around trying to be normal and getting frustrated he can't cook what he had planned. Bless him. As a result this is the only place I can be part of baby talk. So thanks. Really hope those with MS feel better. I'm not looking forward to joining you.

Royalsteph · 18/09/2014 12:40

Can you update mine with DC#3.Grin thank you for doing it. and thank you to all the ladies who have posted on this thread. I'm glad there is so many of us

fififolle · 18/09/2014 13:13

MsMittens I know the feeling- I could literally sleep standing up. Normally I have bags of energy but I feel shattered at the moment- thought I was going to nod off in front of bake off last night! I'm alternating between feeling ravenous and extremely nauseous. I've just done my usual trunk of buying lunch then not fancying it at all.
It reassuring to read this thread and to see that we're all going through the time first trimester symptoms.
Take care everyone.

Mitchey · 18/09/2014 13:19

MsMittens I am shitting myself about having a just turned 2 year old and a newborn - combined with being 41 and moving to a new country / new language I don't speak PLUS I'm High Risk makes me wonder if I've lost my sanity . . . It WAS actuallyy planned, lol

Also, my DS was a VERY easy newborn so I'm assuming I won't be lucky twice, lol

MsMittens · 18/09/2014 13:36

I read my last post back - so many typos Blush

fifi I am sitting here picking at my lunch because I feel the same way! All food tastes v weird at the moment.

mitchey our DD is 19 months old and it is hard to imagine what it will be like with 2. But seems like we have a few ppl on here with 2 already so hopefully they will share pearls of wisdom/coping strategies. Sorry to hear you are high risk, hopefully you are getting the extra medical attention you need.

On a positive note, we are one day closer to the weekend!
