I can't be the only one due in May 2015... So here goes, a shiny new thread.

I have to sneak in here to discuss all things pregnancy/baby related because this is a surprise DC5! Shhhh! Don't tell anyone!

Thinking of you Piglet. Hope it goes well.

silverpixie · 12/09/2014 10:51

Amazing news Linadee ! A tiny heartbeat?! How exciting! How many weeks gone are you?
Piglet- keeping everything crossed for you.

Gingerbreadlady1 · 12/09/2014 10:52

Brilliant news lina, goodness you've really been throught the mill!

piglet thinking about you, sending positive vibes.

fififolle · 12/09/2014 10:53

Fantastic news Lina
Thinking of you Piglet, it's a very stressful time for you but brown spotting is 'old' blood, I had two light 'periods' in early pregnancy 5 yrs ago and now have a 4.5 year old little rebel who's loving school! X

LinaDee · 12/09/2014 11:03

Thanks everyone.
The lady who scanned me said 6+ weeks. I go back in 2 weeks to see if she can properly date the pregnancy but I'm very confident in my dates and should only be out 1 or 2 days either way if at all. The wee bean is only between 2-3mm just now. How tiny!!!

I'm so relieved! The plan is to chill out a lot for the next 2 weeks. I've been signed off work so I will be doing nothing!

WutheringFrights · 12/09/2014 11:14

Congrats Lina - fantastic news!
Piglet thinking of you x

Quick question - has anyone not had any symptoms at all (in either this or previous pregnancies), I have nothing, nada, zilch and I am beginning to get worried.
The ridiculous thing is this is DC3 - you'd think I'd be an old hand by now Grin
I was on honeymoon when DD was at this stage and I didn't get any symptoms from what I recall, but then I felt sick from 3 weeks with DS.
I had an mmc in my first pregnancy and with that one I had symptoms but they disappeared.

In addition to this we are meant to be moving - everything is taking ages and I am scared we are going to lose our perfect house.
We are currently in a 2 bed terrace which is not big enough for the number of children we already have....lets just add a baby into that equation shall we!?

I'm not sleeping and I'm ridiculously uptight - this poor little bean is going to be such a stressy baby when it finally arrives. I'm sure it affects them - I was so chilled out when I was pregnant with DD and she was an angelic baby (she is now a threenager but that is a different story!)

Sorry for the rantage - I need to let it all out and I end up whinging at DH which is unfair as he is trying to sort everything out. I am never buying a house in early pregnancy ever again!!

ThreeBeesInTheHive · 12/09/2014 11:45

Hi all, I probably shouldn't be here, as I haven't got a bfp yet. But my last period was over 6 weeks ago and I just feel pregnant. This would be number 3, and didn't get a bfp til nearly 2 months with both previous dc's. I've had constant nausea for 4days now, gone off all food, peeing alot more, restless at night, clear skin, gassy, alot more saliva, vivid dreams of giving birth, ALOT of discharge, and a really sore stomach and back. Dd jumped on my stomach earlier today and it took my breath away, really hurt. So I'm pretty sure, just waiting for a test to comfirm it. Now for the fun bit. Dd is 1y9m, ds is 9m. How does 3 under 2.5 sound?? Confused

Sunshinesaz86 · 12/09/2014 11:59

That's fab news Lina so pleased for u!!

I hope your ok piglet, so many woman say they spot and it can be perfectly normal, but I can imagine your so worried either way! FX your little bean is just getting a little more comfortable! X

Sunshinesaz86 · 12/09/2014 12:12

Quick question ladies; is anyone else experiencing AF type pains on and off?? I keep getting them and when they come it's actually quite strong and then eases again but it's worrying the life out of me! I've read a lot of woman get it but doesn't help reassure me when it happens.

Turquoisetamborine · 12/09/2014 12:25

Lina I'm so happy for you. How lovely to see the heartbeat. Piglet hope the spotting goes away.

I am feeling great today. The mild cramps and spotting went away a few days away. I had another beta yesterday which was really good so I'm thinking this could actually happen.
We've had to rearrange our holiday we booked for next May though. We've changed to September instead so the baby will be 4 months. Son will have to miss a week of school but I couldn't face taking a baby abroad before then.

Blondie87 · 12/09/2014 12:32

Wonderful news for you LinaDee! What a relief.

Sunshinesaz86 · 12/09/2014 12:41

Sorry x post with wuthering frights and threebees!

Sorry to hear you've got a lot on wuthering try to relax and go with the flow, I know that's easier said than done but I'm sure it will all fall into place!

Wow your in a predicament aren't u threebees all the symptoms sound positive tho, can't u asked gp to do blood test!?? And you'll certainly have your hands full. All worth it tho.

Glad your feeling bright and well turquoise hope it lasts for u! X

plinkyplonks · 12/09/2014 12:49

Sorry if anyone has seen this, but might be quite useful for those getting early scans:

mamaslatts · 12/09/2014 14:08

Hi all,

wuthering - I had very little symptoms with my first 2, some neusea from about 9 weeks but both times we went for the 12 week scan we were terrified there would be nothing there! I'm thinking you are still early on? I don't have many symptoms with this one either, a bit tired but I often am anyway so tricky to tell really. x

piglet81 · 12/09/2014 14:19

Linadee, so pleased to hear your good news. Must have been amazing to see the heartbeat!

Thanks everyone for your thoughts. Rather inconclusive so far - awaiting blood results later today for levels, but scan showed a gestational sac of about 4-5 weeks (looking like twins at the moment) but no apparent yolk sac. They said it could appear over the next week or so, so I have to go back for another scan on the 30th and see...but they didn't seem overly hopeful tbh and said if a yolk sac didn't form soon the pregnancy wouldn't be viable. So it's a bit of a waiting game now. We're on hols the week after next (hence longer wait for next scan) so hopefully will have plenty to keep my mind off it.

Hey ho. Nothing anyone can do right now, so I must just try not to fret about it. Confused

Sunshinesaz86 · 12/09/2014 14:46

oh piglet, im so sorry your in limbo. i really hope all is ok and that further tests show everything is as it should be. I will keep my finger tightly crossed for you.

try and enjpy your holiday and relax x

LinaDee · 12/09/2014 14:54

Piglet, I'm sorry you've for this awful wait. Try to relax - believe me, I know it's easier said than done.
As a pp said, brown spotting is usually old and only seeing a sac at 4-5 is normal.
I'm thinking of you

BB01 · 12/09/2014 16:06

Really hope things turn out well for you, Piglet.

Lina I'm so pleased for you :-)

Also wondering re double buggies as DD will be just under two years. She's always preferred the sling but now she can walk not keen on that either, she wants to walk but be picked up every other minute! So really not sure what we'll do. But would really like to wear the next one in a sling some of the time. DD practically lived in the Caboo (usually ok in the heat, heat had to make sure she didn't wear much)

KittyVonCatsington · 12/09/2014 16:18

Lina That is bloody marvellous news to come home to Grin

piglet Giving you a big virtual hug and what's that I hear about twins?!?! Oh how I hope the yolk sac appears by your next scan, my lovely.

Sunshine - during week 4 and 5 for me I would have moments in the day when I'd have full on AF pains, especially the tell tale back ache. Scared the bejeezus out of me! Turns out-all perfectly normal.

Well I have two missed calls on my mobile at 9.30am and 9.50am. Checked out the number online in case of spam calls and it's the local midwife team! Why didn't they leave a voicemail?, it's so hard as you can't leave a class to take a call and I never have my phone on me anyway to even hear anything during lessons. Am wondering if this is to book the "8-week booking appointment"? Line is engaged when I try to call back. Oh being a teacher sucks sometimes Grin

piglet81 · 12/09/2014 17:07

Hi lovely people, thanks so much for your kind thoughts. Feeling more positive now after speaking to nurse re bloods - apparently progesterone levels are good (103 when they would expect 40-60) so that's a good sign. She basically said to go away and not worry about any pain or bleeding until the next appointment (ha ha, fat chance - am obviously fretting at every twinge...but will try my best!). What a rollercoaster this experience is!

Hope everyone else is keeping well today Smile

Sunshinesaz86 · 12/09/2014 18:00

Oh piglet I am glad to hear your levels are looking good, as it's so high is twins a strong possibility?? FX crossed for u, I do hope u enjoy your hols under the circumstances!

Thanks for that kitty I'm 5 weeks tomoro Grin another week ticked off, so maybe things will settle down then hopefully! I suppose it showing something's going on. Did u manage to get hold if midwife team have u got a scan date yet? How exciting! Grin

BB can't help with the double buggie I'm afraid as this is no1 for me! I'd the sling exactly what is days one of those u wrap across u and tuck the baby in? I think I've seen those...........oh so much to learn ha.

ThreeBeesInTheHive · 12/09/2014 18:08

bb01 we have the Britax B-Dual and its great. Its big, and really heavy. but other than that can't fault it. I got an adaptor for the newborn carseat to go with it, so I could click the car seat out of the isofix and straight onto the bottom of the pushchair. soo quick and easy. if id had more money I would have got the Oyster. it looks really nice and is smaller and lighter, but has all the same features. hope that helps Smile

Thepurplegiraffe · 12/09/2014 18:17

Evening all.

Glad to hear your levels are good Piglet. I have had my own mini panic this afternoon as I have had some brown discharge which never happened with my last pregnancy. I wasn't sure what to do so called the doctor and they said to come in. Everything looked ok but she has given me a form and a number to call on Monday to get an early scan. I don't know if I am overreacting but I am so scared of losing this little bean and today reminded me how easily it could happen. Just hope everything is ok when I go in but from what you are saying Piglet it may be too early to tell as I am only 5 weeks tomorrow.

ThreeBeesInTheHive · 12/09/2014 18:27

bb01 we also have a single pushchair with a buggy board as dd likes to walk but easy to stick her on there and more fun than sitting in a pushchair! Grin

piglet81 · 12/09/2014 18:29

Wishing you well, purplegiraffe - it sounds like these sorts of issues are more common than we realise, and as Kitty (I think) said upthread, brown/old blood is a better sign than red. Fingers crossed for you.

Sunshinesaz - re twins, who knows?! Just one healthy baby would be lovely though! Smile
