I can't be the only one due in May 2015... So here goes, a shiny new thread.

I have to sneak in here to discuss all things pregnancy/baby related because this is a surprise DC5! Shhhh! Don't tell anyone!

Sounds good ThreeBees!

BB01 · 12/09/2014 18:41

Ooh just saw about the pushchair too, that's really useful, thanks so much!

BB01 · 12/09/2014 18:43

Sunshine, there are just wrap slings that are a piece of material or the Close Caboo, which is similar but you put it on over your head. Many people find the Close easier to use but think wraps are more adjustable

Sunshinesaz86 · 12/09/2014 18:58

Oh purple that's really rubbish for u, I hope as the other ladies have said it's older blood and it's just your bean getting more comfortable.

Thanks for that BB think once 12 week has passed I'll be googling baby gadgets!

Piglet 1 healthy baby is what we all want......but could u imagine two? I'm a twin and my mum and Aunty have already joked about me having twins but of course it's meant to skip a generation so won't happen!

SomeSortOfDeliciousBiscuit · 12/09/2014 19:46

Are you an identical twin, Sunshine? I read something recently that said it's non identical twins that are hereditary, because you inherit the tendency for both ovaries to release an egg each month instead of just one.

Thepurplegiraffe · 12/09/2014 19:50

Just had some red blood. Just a bit but that means m/c is much more likely doesn't it?

Sunshinesaz86 · 12/09/2014 20:07

Oh no purple try not to worry just yet, so many woman report having spotting and bleeding in early pregnancy and go on to have healthy babies! FX for u! Giving u a virtual hug.Flowers

Even tho we are very alike we're non identical some sort, and I just googled what you've said and felt slightly queasy Confused

NoRoomForALittleOne · 12/09/2014 20:20

Purple it needs to be heavier red bleeding with cramping pains (IME proper painful cramps) before it is a miscarriage. I had red bleeding three times in the first trimester with DD1 and three times in the second trimester with DS. You really do have to wait this out which totally sucks. Sorry you are going through this.

Thank you for the reassurance, it is appreciated. I will try to stop panicking and put it in perspective. I am on my own tonight which isn't helping. I will just have to wait and see if it gets any heavier.

Craftyrafty · 12/09/2014 21:03

Hello all

Lina-fantastic news! I can't believe such a small thing can already have a heartbeat, so amazing when you think about it
Piglet and Purple- Sorry to hear you're going through a tough time, really hope you can get the reassurance you need very soon. Fingers crossed for you both.
Wuthering- I am the same as you. I had no symptoms apart from tiredness first time round and apart from a few twinges last week I have nothing this time round. I'm also in the process of selling my house (board goes up next week) and moving out of town. Here's hoping the selling and buying process goes smoothly for both of us.
I also start a new job week after next after a 2 year break...everything's happening all at once!??
Anyway I hope everyone else is doing well, October seems so far away for that first dating scan....

LinaDee · 12/09/2014 21:29

Piglet - I'm so glad you're levels are looking good.

Purple - do try to relax. If you're really struggling there are some good relaxation audios on YouTube. They have really helped me this week - some ones specific for pregnancy as well. It's so difficult. Make sure you have people you can speak to in RL as well.
My sister, her DH and my parents now know - not under the circumstances we wanted but it's definitely easier when the people around you know your worries and can support you. It doesn't have to be everyone - just your nearest and dearest. Don't be alone if you can help it.

Thepurplegiraffe · 12/09/2014 21:31

Thanks LinaDee I am talking to my sister who knows. She is always really supportive.

LinaDee · 12/09/2014 21:55

I'm glad you have someone purple :)

Praying everything is alright for you

Weekipper · 13/09/2014 06:19

Things sound good Lina and Piglet.

Purple - I hope you've managed to get some sleep.

I had my midwife appt and I'll see her again at 10wks to do paperwork. She seemed nice enough. My last one was a cold fish but became lovely when I actually had a baby. Weird.

I've got fingers crossed my scan date is in my holidays so I don't need to ask work for time off.

Thepurplegiraffe · 13/09/2014 06:48

Thanks Weekipper not loads. The bleeding has started properly this morning so it's not looking good.

piglet81 · 13/09/2014 07:14

Oh no purplegiraffe, I'm really sorry to hear that. Can you see someone today - a&e maybe? Or ring nhs direct for advice? I really hope the bleeding stops. Thinking of you and keeping fingers crossed x

Thepurplegiraffe · 13/09/2014 07:18

I called. He said go to a&e if it gets really really heavy. Otherwise wait for next week.

piglet81 · 13/09/2014 07:38

Sad You poor thing. I hope you can take it easy today...thinking of you.

BeanCalledPickle · 13/09/2014 08:13

Does anyone else have symptoms that just come and go? Had two days where felt mega sick, then not at all the last couple of days. Well actually I feel sick now but that's cos I had fudge for breakfast! I'm sure it's normal but you do worry don't you...

LinaDee · 13/09/2014 08:13

?? so sorry purple
Make sure you look after yourself

KittyVonCatsington · 13/09/2014 08:36

Really sorry to read what you have been going through purple, how very scary for you xx

BB01 · 13/09/2014 08:40

Sorry to hear that, Purple. Really hope things are ok..I had quite a lot of red blood with my DD. It was really scary especially as it was at thirteen weeks and not when you tend to get breakthrough or implantation bleeding. But all was fine. BTW we paid for a private scan as had to wait for a week over Christmas for an NHS one and it was the best money ever spent!

ellstor · 13/09/2014 08:45

Ladies,

Can I join?

According to lmp in due 15th may.

Already having awful trouble sleeping as my uterus keeps growing it makes me up!

V excited- this will be number one for me and dh x

Fluffeh · 13/09/2014 09:45

Sorry to hear that purple. I hope it's implantation or similar. I have my fingers crossed for you x
Welcome ellstor!

I saw my GP yesterday and he's sorting out the midwife part for me. He gave me a full check up - did anyone else have this? Including abdominal exam etc.
He said everything seems fine though.
I'm having a lot of af type pains today but I think I remember these last time.
Dp wants to get a double pushchair where as I'd rather a buggy board and/or a sling. I still carry DD if we go somewhere busy as it's easier than keeping her on the reins.
Hope everyone is having a good start to the weekend.

SomeSortOfDeliciousBiscuit · 13/09/2014 10:07

Awww, purple, I really hope it will be ok.

I think I might be out too. I did the ClearBlue digital this morning with FMU as it was bugging me not getting lines on the ic. It came up not pregnant and Tuesday, it was 1-2 weeks. Sad I carried on taking my temperature each morning too as I wanted to get to 18dpo with 18 days of high temperatures and it's taken a big drop this morning. Still above the coverline, for those that chart, but it's a massive sign that my progesterone has dropped. If I hadn't had got a positive test, for me, that temperature drop happens the day before my period is due.

I don't know what to do. Sad Do I wait and see if I start bleeding? Do I ask for blood tests? Who do I ask? My GP isn't the most supportive and I know he's likely to refuse. The midwife is supposed to call me Monday or Tuesday, do I wait for that? Or ring the hospital EPU and see what they say? I'm only 4 weeks so a scan won't show anything.
