I can't be the only one due in May 2015... So here goes, a shiny new thread.

I have to sneak in here to discuss all things pregnancy/baby related because this is a surprise DC5! Shhhh! Don't tell anyone!

NHS website is glorious :

www.nhs.uk/conditions/pregnancy-and-baby/pages/sex-in-pregnancy.aspx

"It's perfectly safe to have sex during pregnancy. Your partner's penis can't penetrate beyond your vagina, and the baby cannot tell what's going on. It is normal for your sex drive to change during pregnancy though. Don't worry about this, but do talk about it with your partner."

"Your midwife or doctor will probably advise you to avoid sex if you've had any heavy bleeding in pregnancy, since sex may increase the risk of further bleeding if the placenta is low or there is a haematoma (a collection of blood).
You'll also be advised to avoid sex if your waters have broken (rupture of membranes) as this can increase the risk of infection. If you're unsure, ask your midwife or doctor."

Bonk away!!!

fififolle · 11/09/2014 21:16

Thank you Plinky I'd just googled the same thing. Slightly difficult explaining to DH that I'm not in the mood and have v sore boobs especially after putting him on an alternate days regime in August!!

Haily111 · 11/09/2014 21:23

Whats is dtd?!

fififolle · 11/09/2014 21:26

Haily it's a bit of a pre requisite for being on this thread!!!
DTD= Doing The Do/Dance
Aka bonking!

Gingerbreadlady1 · 11/09/2014 21:30

Oh plinky I'm dying to know what march thread said now but I hid it as I was on it until mc!

plinkyplonks · 11/09/2014 21:49

Gingerbreadlady1 - definitely for the best, regret posting it now as don't want to panic anyone out!

To be honest, tried DTD twice since i found out. I'm with fififolle on this one... sore boobs, bloating, cramping.. tbh not feeling very sexy and up to it.

Mind you, there's obviously lots of other ways to make it through the next few months, so think I'll be exploring them instead ;) :P Even if the idea of it at the moment is making me barf :D :D

Gingerbreadlady1 · 11/09/2014 21:54

Grin. Tbh after 2 years of ttc sex, I don't think either of us will be that bothered for a bit!

Quinandthem · 11/09/2014 23:09

Dd was a July baby and we had a caboo. Just wore a nappy under it on the really hot days.

KittyVonCatsington · 12/09/2014 06:36

Morning! I too don't feel like DTD due to sore boobs and feeling bleurgh! Bit unfair on DH who is used to daily DTD every two weeks for a year! Have dodged the bullet though by handing out a few BJs as I don't have a lot of morning sickness.

Typical first timer here-I had to look up what a stretchy was Blush

ElisaGirl · 12/09/2014 07:35

Morning all and welcome to lots of newbies!

Not posted for a while due to the moving/packing/shipping chaos that has taken over my life. Can totally relate to the anger and rage though - was in a foul mood with all the stress and we ended up telling the in-laws as I couldn't lift anything or help load our container. Turns out they guessed, I'm clearly not good at hiding anything! It's fair enough as we won't see them in person for a while now. Telling my mum tonight for the same reason :-)

Still no symptoms to speak of, which I'm grateful for, but still worried about nonetheless! Keeping fingers crossed for everyone for happy and healthy pregnancies.

piglet81 · 12/09/2014 07:53

Morning all, how is everyone?

Bit of a panic here as I had some bleeding last night. Went to A&E in a bit of a state but it was after hours so no chance of a scan. Going to EPU in a moment and hope they will be able to do something...had a bit more brown spotting since then (sorry, TMI) but no pain, just a slight dull ache. Only 5+3 so I know it's really early days still and anything could happen but I was starting to let myself get excited... Sad Anyway, fingers crossed.

Thisisrock · 12/09/2014 08:08

Morning
piglet oh no!!! keeping everything crossed for you x

SomeSortOfDeliciousBiscuit · 12/09/2014 08:14

Everything crossed for you Piglet and for LinaDee too.

I'm having a wobble now. I keeo doing ic because I really want to see a clear strong line. I've not actually had a line on one so far, just a suggestion of a line that has been getting a bit clearer.

So, I did another first response and there is a clear line there, but it's fainter than the first response I did 48 hours ago. Sad The control line is also fainter and thinner on today's test compared to the older one, so I have NO idea whether to worry or not or whether it's a difference in dye. I'm worrying anyway, obviously.

My ClearBlue digital on Tuesday said 1-2 weeks. I have another one, but wanted to do it next week. The levels won't have changed enough for them to say anything different, will they?

NoRoomForALittleOne · 12/09/2014 09:09

Biscuit, it depends whether your HCG levels are now over the threshold needed to make it show 2-3 weeks. Your levels may have quadrupled since Tuesday do it is possible. HOWEVER... The guidance in the CBDigi pack says that the dating element is only 92% accurate and only accurate if you use FMU. If you use this one, will you buy more next week?

SomeSortOfDeliciousBiscuit · 12/09/2014 09:38

I think I'll hold off for a few days, or at least until tomorrow. I looked at both first response ones again and the lines seem the same in relation to the control, so I do think the dye is different in each of them. I'll happily buy another ClearBlue twin pack. I got the last for £9-ish on Amazon and it's worth it to me for reassurance.

I should disregard the internet cheap ones completely really, shouldn't I? It's hard though because I used them in previous pregnancies and always got really strong lines on them very early on around 10dpo, so I did trust them. Confused That was five and six years ago though, so it's perfectly possible the manufacturing has changed.

This is what I'm going to struggle with - the anxiety. I have absolutely no reason to believe things aren't as they should be but I don't cope well in situations where I have no control.

SomeSortOfDeliciousBiscuit · 12/09/2014 09:41

'Today, I am pregnant. Today, I am pregnant.' My local hospital has a gyneocological 'emergency' room open 24hrs a day all year, so if anything did happen, I know I could go there any time and get answers. That's reassuring.

Mslad · 12/09/2014 09:51

Somesort I'm totes having the same wobble as you. I'm willing my line to get darker (which it isn't) and also willing myself to stop thinking about it and relax.

Piglit and Lina I'm thinking about you this morning x

plinkyplonks · 12/09/2014 10:02

Gingerbreadlady1 Grin Grin Grin

piglet81 LinaDee - Sad Good luck today, thinking of you both x

LinaDee · 12/09/2014 10:04

Piglet, I am thinking of you today.
Please be reassured, that bleeding does not mean bad news.

I'm just back from my scan and saw a teeny, tiny little baby with a heartbeat. It can happen.

I hope everything is ok. Let us know how you are.

NoRoomForALittleOne · 12/09/2014 10:18

Yay! I wish that I could remember the stats about how small the risk of mc is when a heartbeat has been seen... Ah well, that is fab news anyway Grin
