I can't be the only one due in May 2015... So here goes, a shiny new thread.

I have to sneak in here to discuss all things pregnancy/baby related because this is a surprise DC5! Shhhh! Don't tell anyone!

Hi all

Can I join please? May be seriously jumping the gun as only got my bfp on tue at 11dpo but nice strong lines. I've read the thread from the beginning, so sorry for those having a difficult time. I've been there with 2mc, the last in June, so seriously bricking it right now.

We've been on fertility treatment/ investigations for 2 years, on nhs waiting list & on mon I finally bit the bullet & made the apt for private ivf starting end sep. Got my bfp next day, still in shock. Taking it a day at a time as not convinced it will all be ok. It's no 1 for us (even though I'm an old bird) edd 22nd may.

We'll that was all very me me me! Hope everyone's feeling ok today.

Fluffeh · 11/09/2014 08:01

Hi can I join? Got my bfp this morning!
Dc2 for us and EDD 18th may.
DD is 16mo and still breast fed hopefully she won't mind sharing with her brand new sibling when they arrive.

piglet81 · 11/09/2014 08:10

Welcome new people!

Hope everyone's getting on OK this morning. Sending lots of positive thoughts to anyone needing support.

I survived that party that I was dreading last night - pretty tired though! Hopefully everyone else at work will be hungover tired so no one will notice me :-)

Rockinghorse123 · 11/09/2014 08:10

Morning ladies!

Congratulations and Welcome Fluffeh and ginger

I'm having a wobble this morning.

I've done another cheap test this morning and the line is no darker even though af was due yesterday. There is a line but still v faint. The line on the FRER on Monday was much more definite. Tempted to go and get a clear blue digital just to stop my worrying but DH says I'm worrying over nothing.

The cheap tests were £3 for 30 on amazon so v cheap and the reviews do say that the line stays faint but it's not getting darker at all.

Just needed to get it down really as haven't told anyone in R L.

Hope everyone has a good day Smile

Never, ever trust an IC, Rockinghorse. Do the CBdigi just to put your mind at rest. buy a double pack and so the other one in a week's time Wink

I'm really struggling this morning. I ate my breakfast with spoon in one hand and vomit bowl in the other Sad

Thank you no room I think I will do that!
Sorry you're feeling so sick! Hopefully it will ease soon.

Thepurplegiraffe · 11/09/2014 09:15

I second what NoRoom says Rockinghorse it's worth it for the peace of mind though I think any line at all is positive? I have my second digital test ready to go for a couple of days time... Or should I say 4th. Smile

Welcome Ginger and Fluffeh and congratulations. Really hope this one sticks Ginger!

Thepurplegiraffe · 11/09/2014 09:17

Thisisrock · 11/09/2014 12:12

Grin fab news rockinghorse!!!

Just been to GP to get my MW referral he asked me what sort of birth I was thinking of having - when I said a home birth he looked at me like I had three heads !!! Grin I don't think it was entirely necessary for me to start talking statistics to him (but I did just for fun Wink)

Thisisrock · 11/09/2014 12:16

kitty Getting a doula is very worth while - I am thinking about having a doula friend with me this time round. I think its having somewhere there who knows you and gets you that makes it so important.

I love being a doula although will probably hang up my doula bag soon until after this one is born! If you have any questions feel free to fire away Smile

Thisisrock · 11/09/2014 12:17
  • someone gah!!
SomeSortOfDeliciousBiscuit · 11/09/2014 12:27

How soon are we supposed to see a midwife? I'm seeing the doctor tomorrow to load up on cyclizine in case HG hits me hard, so I'll ask him then, but I was wondering how soon everyone else goes? 'Normal' people, I mean. I am not normal. Grin

BB01 · 11/09/2014 12:28

Rocking, I always thought the cheapies were usually as sensitive, if not more sensitive, than dearer ones though I could be wrong. Have you tried doing one at with first wee of the day? I was having a similar panic on Tues but then yesterday it had got way darker when I tested after not drinking water for a while.

BB01 · 11/09/2014 12:30

Fluffeh, I'm still bf DC1! So have you made a decision to try to continue feeding throughout the pregnancy? I'm in two minds but might just see how it goes as apparently they can go off it too?

Thisisrock · 11/09/2014 12:31

Its somewhere between 8 - 10 weeks where I am biscuit depends on how busy they are though. Judging by this thread MWs will be seeing lots of newly pregnant teachers Grin

piglet81 · 11/09/2014 12:37

My first appointment with the midwife is at 8+2 (fingers and toes crossed - feels like tempting fate to think three weeks ahead. I know I'm being silly!).

LinaDee · 11/09/2014 12:42

I can have my first (official) appointment here with the midwife at 8 weeks. That seems so far away just now, even though it's only 2 weeks away!
I'm a teacher too! How spooky that there's so many!
I know what you mean piglet but getting through a pregnancy is about working towards these wee mile stones. They really helped me when I was pregnant with my DD.

Royalsteph · 11/09/2014 12:45

I have my first MW appt at my 8 wk point Grin counting down the weeks/days
