I can't be the only one due in May 2015... So here goes, a shiny new thread.

I have to sneak in here to discuss all things pregnancy/baby related because this is a surprise DC5! Shhhh! Don't tell anyone!

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
Blondie87 · 10/09/2014 19:12

Thank you BB01 and Somekindofdeliciousbiscuit! It's so good to have somewhere to ask questions/ hear other people's experiences. I'm 26 and not one close friend has had a yet baby so it's hard to find out information!
Somesortofdeliciousbiscuit I just read your post, glad your appointment went well.

Rockinghorse123 · 10/09/2014 19:20

DB glad your appointment went well

Lina keeping everything crossed for you and hope your as "ok" as you can be

Welcome new people and Congratulations!

I absolutely shattered and feeling very nauseous already! I'm sure it didn't start this early with DS but I suppose having a toddler to run around after is more tiring as well so it's probably a combination! DS was at nursery today and I was off work so instead of cleaning the house I had a nap!

KittyVonCatsington · 10/09/2014 19:27

Hi silver your DH sounds a cutie!

I am so pleased you had a lovely appointment Biscuit - hearing congratulations, even from a professional is great to hear!

Hi and welcome Blondie! Congrats on your BFP!

Smiley - everywhere does this all a bit differently and I seem to be the odd one out. I apparently bypass midwives until my 12-week scan and everything has gone through my GP so far. Most places do all this through the midwife team instead so I think your appointment in 4 weeks is normal Smile

Definitely better to have lots of naps rockinghorse!

fififolle · 10/09/2014 19:31

Congratulations Blondie
My nausea has returned today, which is reassurung! I've booked a private scan for next Tues (7 weeks).
I has be my booking appt and blood tests on Monday morning so hopefully by the time I'm n work on Wednesday, no one will notice that I've blood taken.
Good to hear that you've got your scan date Kitty.
Keeping fx for you Lina.
Fab appt biscuit!

Blondie87 · 10/09/2014 20:01

Is 'weeks pregnant' calculated from your last period?

KittyVonCatsington · 10/09/2014 20:11

Hi Blondie During the week you start your period, you are in your first week of pregnancy, but you have not yet completed a full week. It's all about completing each week - putting one week behind you and starting another one. Therefore:
in your first week you are zero weeks pregnant
in your second week you are one week pregnant
in your third week you are two weeks pregnant
in your fourth week you are three weeks pregnant
in your fifth week you are four weeks pregnant

At the moment, for example, I am 6 weeks and 4 days so 6+4. My LMP was 27th July.

Hope this helps! Grin

Thepurplegiraffe · 10/09/2014 20:12

Evening all.

Hope you are doing ok and get some good results tomorrow Lina, your symptoms do sound positive. Hopefully they mean that things are still progressing.

Big sympathy to all those feeling terrible. I am still not feeling any symptoms which is feeding my paranoia but I'm hoping it is just because I am behind many of you. I was fine for the first few weeks last time and then sick for pretty much the rest of the pregnancy. I found that different foods worked at different times but I used to rely on sweets such as lemon drops or mints to get me through the train journey without throwing up. Can't think of any other tips other than the obvious ginger nuts, always having some sort of food to hand and getting rest wherever possible.

Fantastic news on your appointment Biscuit you must be so pleased. And congratulations Blondie, you must be over the moon.

I haven't even called the doctor yet. Maybe I should get on with it. Somehow it doesn't feel real yet...

Blondie87 · 10/09/2014 20:24

Thanks KittyVonCatsington very helpful! Thanks everyone and good luck all x

plinkyplonks · 10/09/2014 20:38

OK, OK - I admit to being very naughty and paying for a private scan. Growth suggests beanie is 6 weeks and 5 days old and they gave me a due date of 30th April :) Got to see/hear a heartbeat too - lots of tears. This is going to break my heart if this all goes wrong :( Hang in there beanie!!

fififolle · 10/09/2014 20:44

Fantastic Plinky , it must have been magical!

plinkyplonks · 10/09/2014 20:50

Thanks fififolle - not long until your scan too :) I've uploaded my scan photo to 'My Photos' if anyone wants to take a look. Should all be set to public :)

KittyVonCatsington · 10/09/2014 20:54

How amazing plinky! Oh no-are you going to join the April bus and leave us??!! Wait a minute, could I be April 30th too?! Grin I've gone by the day I've ovulated but could be out a few days I suppose! Glad you heard a heartbeat-so wonderful!

plinkyplonks · 10/09/2014 21:06

:D Definitely possible Kitty - I think a good few of us could end up with April due dates at this rate!! Quite cosy on the May bus, and tbh the lil beanie is unlikely to want to be evicted on it's due date so thinking of hanging around here if that's OK :) Forgot to make my profile public - doh, so hopefully this time people can see it if they'd like: www.mumsnet.com/Profile?nick=plinkyplonks&photos=p

Sunshinesaz86 · 10/09/2014 21:21

Hi ladies, just seeing how everyone is doing?

Purple lets hope you don't get hit with symptoms in another few weeks, enjoy it while it lasts Grin

That's so exiting your had your scan date kitty, my mum said to expect to possibly be put back by 1-2 weeks automatically due to growth, so it'll be interesting to see how we all get on and how our dates vary?

Oh plinky how wonderful to see your little bean! I'm sure everything will be fine for u.

Congrats blondie!

How nice for u to have a scan so soon fififolle, bet u can't wait for next week to come.

Glad your appointment went well biscuit!

I seem to be getting waves on nausea coming in the mornings but it soon passes just hope it doesn't developed into MS! Anyone got any strange symptoms?

LinaDee · 10/09/2014 21:27

How lovely plinky! There's really nothing better.

I think all of you early May ladies have committed to the May bus, even if your due dates shift into April Smile

Quinandthem · 10/09/2014 21:34

Hi everyone,

Just crashing this thread as I've just got a positive test.

Due date 18th may.

My dd is 14months old today and we're excited to do it all again (except maybe the first 6 weeks).

Had a mc before dd so fingers crossed.

Ps. I didn't have any ms last time so hoping I might get lucky again this time.

Thisisrock · 10/09/2014 21:35

I haven't called the doc yet either purple plan to do it tomorrow... Feel quite nervous about that though!! Almost like I am tempting fate. Dh had words with me tonight and told me that I needed to stop over thinking all of this. Trouble is I am a natural worrier. Ironic that I spend most of my week easing the anxieties of pregnant mums and new mums and when it come round to my turn I am just the same Hmm

Lovely news plinkyI am tempted to do the same Smile

fififolle · 10/09/2014 21:39

Great photo of the bean Plinky
Everyone is definitely on the May bus now (ahem Kitty and Plinky) you can't go swapping busses now Wink. I agree with Lina!
Sunshine I seem to get afternoon nausea and also find that certain noises irritate me??

fififolle · 10/09/2014 21:40

Congrats Quin welcome to the May bus!

Sunshinesaz86 · 10/09/2014 21:48

Welcome quin and congrats, I hope u have a healthy journey with no MS!

Ha fififolle noises, what kind? I had rage today but I couldn't tell if it was a symptom or just standard road rage! I did however get pretty queasy at the petrol station today filling up it was soooo much stronger than usual! And I usually like the smell of petrol at the forecourt!

fififolle · 10/09/2014 21:52

It was DS scraping the soles of his trainers along the floor!

Blondie87 · 10/09/2014 21:52

Wow fab scan picture, how exciting! Congratulations Quin, my due date is around May 17th so we must be at pretty similar stages!
I noticed there are a few teachers on this thread and I'm a teacher too. Obviously had fun summer holidays!

Justyouwaitandsee · 10/09/2014 22:35

Hey everyone, great news Plinky but as others have said don't you dare leave us now! Wink

Have felt much, much better today but need to go back to work tomorrow and am not looking forward to not being able to eat and sleep exactly when I want!

And yes to the rage (although noises aren't so bad as they were before) I savaged a person who called from our joint bank tonight but who refused to speak with me as he was 'only authorised to speak with MrJustYouWait. Grr! This drives me mad at the best of times but I completely lost it with this guy tonight. To the point he even started laughing at me, which only made it worse. (Sigh)

Turquoisetamborine · 11/09/2014 05:04

Omg I'm glad someone mentioned the rage. I had three arguments in my job yesterday. I do have to challenge people anyway but I was like a dog with a bone. Hope this calms down!

My spotting has virtually stopped now and I've realised that the light cramps I was getting were mostly constipation. Small glass of prune juice works wonders for anyone else suffering this!
Welcome to all the newbies. I'm so excited. Hope it turns out well for you Lina. I've got my fingers crossed for you xx

KittyVonCatsington · 11/09/2014 06:45

Love the scan pic! Think I see a little head Grin

Welcome and Comgratulations Quin !

Yep, teacher here blondie and definitely made use of the 6 week holiday Grin Genuinely think the stresses from school were hindering our chances before and having some rest time must have helped Smile

I got the inner rage yesterday with my new Year 7s Grin Normally I let their 'newness' wash over me but was gritting my teeth when plenty weren't following instructions-like how to save a bleeding Word document! Needed a few deep breaths at break time I can tell you!

Learning to currently live with my constipation Turquoise now and finding it easier knowing it isn't the baby in trouble. Did a little victory dance yesterday though when I went for the first time in 4 days Grin My GP said the spotting wasn't from the uterus and was due to straining so relaxing would help. Easier said than done!

Have a lovely day ladies and Lina - hope you get some positive news today xx
