I can't be the only one due in May 2015... So here goes, a shiny new thread.

I have to sneak in here to discuss all things pregnancy/baby related because this is a surprise DC5! Shhhh! Don't tell anyone!

OP posts:

LinaDee · 04/09/2014 15:47

At my docs. Had some bleeding this afternoon. Fearing the worst. Again.

Ameilius · 04/09/2014 16:23

Fingers crossed for you Lina Flowers let us know what the Dr says.

I've had some twinges/pain that turned out to be wind Blush. Maybe it's digestive rather than baby-related, Crafty?

Brilliant news Bumpity! Hope it keeps hanging on in there!

MsMittens · 04/09/2014 16:40

Lina, I hope it is just a small bleed and that everything works out ok

TheProjectManager · 04/09/2014 17:50

Can I join?

Hopefully DC2 will materialise for next May - but I've list four in between DS and this bean so I am mildly terrified!! Not telling anyone in RL ( except DP!) sore boons and twinges and a bit if dizziness but wishing for some good old fashioned sickness !!!

Smell of the bins and the train platform nearly made me hurl earlier but not off my food at all - just wish my tummy had a viewing window !!!

KittyVonCatsington · 04/09/2014 18:26

lina So very sorry you are going through a scary experience. I hope that your little bean stays put Thanks

Welcome to the May club whatamuddleduck, msmittens and project

So glad you have had some reasuring news bumpity-come on little bumplet!

Crafty last week when I was 4 weeks, I had loads of twinges-both sides but mainly on the right. Sometimes they really caught me out! Not much this week but i do have a rock solid feeling in my tummy and i'm 5+5 today. Am too hoping they are normal signs

MaGrat You should give your little bean a lemon-themed nickname!

Well, I shouldn't be so quick to whinge and moan. I was actually fine from lesson 2 onwards today! I'm an ICT and Computing secondary teacher (so can't move classrooms honey as I need the PCs but am sure an arrangement will be put in place once I inform the school Grin ) so standing up and moving around kept my mind off being nauseous. Still a little constipated but really I can't complain!

This will make you laugh though...I was showing a video clip of a past pupil's Flash animation as an example and it had lovely classical music in the background. During the crescendo I developed a little sob and got quite emotional for a second or two-really need to get a grip Grin

bradders85 · 04/09/2014 18:52

Kitty - I am a big softie anyway but I actually just got a few tears watching a piece on the news - Barack Obama has visited a primary school in Wales and it made me all emotion!! ha! :-)

I am still a little unclear about cheeses to avoid - read lots on the internet. I like mushrooms in Dolcelatte sauce - can I have it because it cooked? Does anyone know?

Justyouwaitandsee · 04/09/2014 18:59

Hey everyone - interesting that the sickness seems to have kicked in for several of us. I am now 5wks+3 and after being sick on the way to work yesterday, I've been better today, but my stomach has still felt like it's been on a boat. Really sensitive sense of smell and also to noise/sound?! All the office noise has been driving me to distraction when I wouldn't usually notice it. Anyone else had this?!

LinaDee · 04/09/2014 19:03

It was just a small bleed msmittens but this is how my MMC started in June. Albeit much later at 11weeks.

I have an app tomorrow morning at the epu although at this stage in not sure what they can do or say but I will go. I've been trying hard to keep my feet on the ground and half expecting this to be honest. Although, I'm not really sure why. Just a "feeling" that it wouldn't come to anything Hmm

All I can do is go tomorrow and see what they say.
My doc looked at my notes from the last 9 months about miscarriage and various other things that have happened and gave me a line for 4 weeks from work which I'm going to take no matter what the outcome tomorrow. I'm so floored, gutted, exhausted and thoroughly raging at everything 2014 has thrown at me.
Not in a good place at all right now.

Justyouwaitandsee · 04/09/2014 19:11

So sorry to hear that lina - keeping my fingers crossed for your appointment tomorrow. Hoping all the positive thoughts will help.

bumpity - thanks so much for coming back and sharing your update. That is great news. Well fine to you and little lentil Smile

And kitty - so pleased to hear you survived today! I have found it is a bit like being hungover and gets better as the day goes on, especially if you can make yourself eat.

Have just been reading up and apparently sensitivity to noise does seem to be a real thing. How bizarre is all this pregnancy stuff!!

LinaDee · 04/09/2014 19:23

Bum pity that's great news. Can I ask if you had any pain or anything with your bleeding? How far on are you and how much bleeding? (I'm unashamedly looking for some reassurance)

Cheers

bumpitybumpbump · 04/09/2014 20:11

Hi Lina, I'm so sorry to hear your going through this. I had a bleed on Monday morning which I'd say was about a good teaspoon or more of fresh red blood. It was the fact it was so red that scared me as It just didn't feel normal. I didn't have cramping but I did have period type back pain generally which seemed worse than it had been before. I was 5w +2 which is apparently prime time for an implantation bleed which is very common. I didn't think this was the case for me as I didn't have any bleeding with DD1 and just seemed like too much blood. However my sonographer explained how aggressive and brutal implantation is (and implantation btw may be the source of pain at this time) and that if during implantation it happens to nick a blood vessel that is near the cervix then a bleed often occurs. She also explained that the cervix changes a lot and can bleed totally innocently. So there are many reasons to stay positive! She did say to me that if I were to go on to miscarry there would be a lot of blood and very painful cramping. I have no idea if she said this because my womb lining on the scan indicated that or whether that was a general point however. It is a bloody terrifying time and whilst I know it is futile to suggest trying to stay as relaxed as possible, I would just emphasise that there are lots of mn threads with positive outcomes from first trim bleeds, even where the amount of blood was quite shocking, and I found a lot if comfort in just hoping that would be the case for me.

Sending you all the positive vibes in me and pls feel free to ask away with any other questions xxx

LinaDee · 04/09/2014 20:55

Thank you so much bumpity.
I'm trying so hard to stay positive. I had a MMC in June so still quite raw from that. I just so badly want this to be ok. I have been frantically reading positive stories and hoping I will have my own positive story to tell.

ElisaGirl · 04/09/2014 22:07

bradders I read on the nhs guidelines that soft/mould cheeses are fine if cooked until properly bubbling to kill off any bacteria so I think you should be ok.

lina I'm so sorry you've had such an awful few months. Keeping everything crossed for you Flowers

As for me, I've had no symptoms at all to speak of. Boobs fine, no nausea, pain or anything. Have gone off my food a bit but think that might be stress-related and remarkably, for me, don't fancy chocolate at all. Not even a tiny bit! Starting to think I should take another test just to double check I didn't imagine the last 10 days!

We are moving abroad next week so packing up house/office, leaving job, shipping belongings, saying goodbyes etc - all highly stressful and lots of manic rushing about which I'm not certain is a good thing. Also SIL had a baby yesterday - gorgeous little boy but 9lb 12oz! Scared me somewhat!!

Peaky1 · 04/09/2014 23:58

Evening all!

Lovely to see all of the new bfps coming up. My thoughts are also with those awaiting news.

Thanks for posting that info Bumpity. It really helps to put some reasoning behind some of the scary but 'normal' things that can happen.

I'm now finally out of plaster and have a gigantic comical air cast boot on! Sooooo glad I'm allowed to put my foot down now. Can you imagine having to go upstairs on your bum to then collect crutches to then hop to the loo to vom?? Disaster! Luckily I only had nausea with DS and I'm not getting much at all in the way of symptoms right now (apart from trapped wind...ahem Blush)

Sleep tight all Smile

GinIsCalling · 05/09/2014 02:25

Great news Bumpity.
Lina I have my fingers crossed for you.

Hope everyone is feeling ok. I've not had any nausea yet but my boobs are very painful - and I'm soooooo tired. Have just given in and out kipper on for my three year old this afternoon after an eventful morning at soft play (we are in the US so early evening here).

GinIsCalling · 05/09/2014 02:26

Oh and according to babycenter my fetus is the size of a sesame seed! How can a sesame seed cause this much bloating!

Threesoundslikealot · 05/09/2014 10:01

Hello, more new people.

Sensitive hearing is fascinating! I've been closing the door this week to block out the noise of next door's photocopier, having barely noticed it before.

LinaDee · 05/09/2014 10:29

I'm at the EPU just now.
They are going to do blood tests and a scan today and bring me back on Sunday for more blood tests to check my hormone levels.
They have been great and warned me the scan might not show much at this stage (only 5 weeks), which i totally understand.
Trying not to get my hopes up but also trying to be positive. Not easy.

MaGratgarlik1983 · 05/09/2014 10:40

Hi ladies. Thanks to Bumpity for your details - I started spotting yesterday and am feeling really scared. So last night I had maybe one or two spots of rusty-red blood then slept. Nothing on the pad when I woke up but then I got some brown CM. Then went to loo about 30 mins later and got some more rusty red colour. Called the GP and he called me back (they have a triage system there) and explained all about how it can go either way at this stage - I'm only 4+3 but I'm in love with this little bean! The rational part of me knows that if the worst happens it's because something is wrong anyway but it's not that much of a consolation for the rest of me! Just wait it out is the advice anyway. So I guess time will tell.

ElisaGirl · 05/09/2014 14:28

Fingers crossed for you Lina

Just been out for a meal with work colleagues and had goats cheese and caramelised onion bruschetta thing. Only now do I realise goat's cheese is also on the NO list. Damn, feeling bad and a bit worried Confused

honeysucklejasmine · 05/09/2014 15:06

Hi all.

Lina, I'm sorry to hear about your crap year. I hope all goes well at the EPU.

I'm currently having cramps, and a burning pain in my thigh. I have endoand my thighs do often hurt so i guess i can see where is coming from. Its just so annoying. Cramps not especially painful but damn persistent. Its horrid because no one warns you about cramps, and I'm paranoid they mean something bad will happen. Tell me I'm being silly please!

piglet81 · 05/09/2014 15:57

Poor you! It's probably nothing - the more i read about pregnancy the more it seems that all sorts of pain/bleeding/other bothersome symptoms can be perfectly innocent. Fingers crossed for you.

WutheringFrights · 05/09/2014 20:12

Having been through all this twice before (and also one mmc) I can confirm that there are indeed lots of twinge, cramps, aches and in general weird feelings where you've never had them before, throughout the whole 9 months.
I on the other hand am experiencing no twinges, aches and weirdness which is in turn making me equally as paranoid!
My friend said today that she hoped I didn't feel nauseous....I really want to feel nauseous! Its bizarrely comforting...
Everything crossed for those of you who are having problems, these little aliens like to keep us on our toes!

SmileyScooby · 05/09/2014 22:19

Hi all! Well af was due weds/thurs and didn't show so tested today (first response and cb digital) both were BFP :) this will be #1 for us according to NHS site due date is 14th May. We were just seeing what happened after I came off the pill back in jan/feb (although last 2 months I'd been tracking secretly hehe)
Whole mixture of emotions going on happy, anxious, etc just hope this bean sticks :)

WutheringFrights · 05/09/2014 22:28

Congratulations SmileyScooby !!!!!

I'm still in utter disbelief about our BFP...I'm hoping it sinks in sometime soon Grin
