Just Shagging - Thread 11 for Graduated Viroids!

JuniDD · 17/08/2014 06:27

Welcome, welcome, welcome to the 11th grads thread...celebrating the success of Just Shagging in getting us viroids upduffed Grin

For those that don't know, a 'viroid' is from the original JSing thread 1, where someone was trying to type ladies (in reference to all the JSing ladies), but their phone decided to call us all viroids instead!

The name stuck and we've been the JSing viroids ever since.

The thread we have graduated from is here in its 27th outing.

There is also a Just Mumming thread in postnatal here once your babies come along, or to keep up with the graduated graduates!

There is also a secret facebook group, if you want to join, ask in-thread.

So, roll call below please, viroids! Smile

So I had my routine eye check a few weeks ago, I'd had my last one in feb and was fine, was told to come back in a year (this is for possible retinopathy caused by diabetes) so was happy nothing was wrong. The one a few weeks ago is cos I'm pg and this can apparently cause eye issues, I was told last week when I asked a consultant about where my results were that it was very unlikely I'd have issues as my eyes were fine in feb and it's rare to get new problems, the pg just usually makes already existing ones worse.

So today I had a letter from the hospital to go see a consultant ophthalmologist on Tuesday. This is the first I've heard of any results so I'm now assuming there's a problem. Ffs, I've worked so hard and my sugar levels have been excellent (even too low and this wouldn't cause problems) but it looks like I'm going to be one of the unlucky ones. I don't know what this could mean, possible laser treatment and maybe permanent issues? I'm so scared now and fed up, why can't I have something go ok? I already work hard to minimise any issues from the diabetes :( :(

Nessalina · 05/09/2014 10:29

Argh, that sucks Zyla Confused But don't assume the worst until you've seen the consultant - there may just be a small variation and it's policy to get it followed up? And at least Tuesday is just round the corner so they're not keeping you hanging for long! Hope it's all ok Thanks

I've just heard back from the GPs, and after three attempts at a blood test they've finally determined that I am anaemic Hmm Brilliant! Got some iron to take and I don't feel too bad tbh, so that's good.

Wil - I've been doing the pillow between the legs thing for a few weeks and that helps, but it's v.painful moving about in bed, it's a proper mission to turn over Confused I guess I'll just see how it goes. Next midwife is in 10 days because they wanted to check that bump is growing after slow growth last time, so I'll ask about it then I reckon.

Boy, third tri really is when it all goes to pot Grin Hope we're not scaring you new peeps Shock I think I'd rather have the physical stuff now than go through the early days nerves again though.

Silly doctors La - why ask you how far on you are when what they really mean is 'how long since your last AF?'! Grin

wilmabedrock · 05/09/2014 12:24

Oh zyla, that's rubbish. Fx everything is ok. Would love to be more encouraging but really don't know anything about it.

I find moving in bed tricky too Ness and remember that from last time. Probably because you'd normally use your tummy muscles to do such things? So to a certain extent it may be normal pg thing, but if you're having pain standing or walking then probably best seeing someone asap to avoid damaging anything.

I'm in a surprisingly good mood today. Must find something to complain about. Wink

Nessalina · 05/09/2014 12:31

Hurrah for good moods! I was feeling very chipper yesterday - happy hormone time Grin

minimooo · 05/09/2014 12:52

Hi viroids! Just checking in after not being online for a few days. Been feeling a bit crappy tbh - nausea 24/7 and not keeping much down, urgh. Trying to keep positive though and telling myself that it's all for a good reason! I've found that ice lollies and ginger tea help. Does anyone have any other tips?

Congrats to la for joining the thread! Am really happy for you chick Smile

Glad the scan went well pis!

Sorry to hear that zyla, and hope the consultant can clarify things on Tuesday. Sorry I can't say anything more useful, it's not something I know anything about Flowers

wilmabedrock · 05/09/2014 12:59

I haven't ever thrown up mini, but did think that keeping hydrated helped the nausea a little. Hope you feel better soon.

cookielove · 05/09/2014 13:08

Hmmm I'm sure I posted a reply on here!

cookielove · 05/09/2014 13:12

mini I never really threw up but was very nauseous! I found eating little and often helped.

Me and the little guy are doing well, although he has a cold :( all blocked up bless him!

Is it here there was a sling discussion. I have two, a moby and a panel with straps coming off of it. Neither I have tried yet!

wilmabedrock · 05/09/2014 13:30

Let me know when you try the moby Cookie. It looks complicated to put on.

honeysucklejasmine · 05/09/2014 15:17

So pleased to be joining you over here viroids! Got ny BFP on Monday in theluckiestthreadever® so been in a bit of a daze. I'm going to hang in both threads i think, but wanted to pop in here too!

So, DC#1, EDD 11/05

Its so exciting! But are there any ladies further down the line who can tell me what to expect?! Not enjoying cramping etc, its making me paranoid!

splodge77 · 05/09/2014 16:01

Hi honeysuckle! Me another grad of said-lucky-thread!! Try not to worry about cramping, I've had some too but then a lot of it's actually turned out to be trapped wind!! Nice. I'm soooo hungry, need to get me self a proper 'snack store' going. When PReg with DS it was nuts, cucumbers, rich tea biscuits & starburst all the way. Weird.

wilmabedrock · 05/09/2014 16:11

Hi Honey and welcome. Lots of weird and wonderful pains for you to get used to - I've just woken up for a nap and appear to have knackered my hip... Had lots of cramping first tri. It settles down eventually.

Pisghetti · 05/09/2014 16:15

Having throw up twice this week I can recommend staying away from trains. The motion seems to turn my nausea into action and the toilets are foul places to spend your journey. 3.5 train journey home just started!

Hope it's nothing bad next week Zyla

Hi Honey I'm home

I told my new boss today. He seemed delighted! He's recommended I speak to HR and let him know when I've done so as he won't mention it to anyone until then. It means I can formalise my ante natal appointments (I have three booked in so far!) without worrying about being hauled over the coals for attendance issues.

Leela5 · 05/09/2014 16:30

zyla that's crappy sorry doll, but hopefully it will turn out to be something that can be sorted - try not to worry.

cookie poor wee mite! Is he home yet?

honey omg me too! I have cramps, headache and I'm knackered. I look like ten tonnes of shite and can't stop yawning. It also feels like an alien has hold of my insides and is twisting them. I'm so excited though! I just can't wait for 12 week scan so I can see it's really there!! Did digital test today, just to see the word 'pregnant' come up Grin

Have you told anyone yet? I'm going to ascot tomorro so told my bf so she can help me disguise not drinking. She's pg too. Plus my mum. But no one else.

honeysucklejasmine · 05/09/2014 17:10

Hi hi! So many familiar names!

Glad its not just me La! Its well annoying!

I saw the Dr yesterday. Just waiting for midwife contact now. But realised 12 week scan will be in half term and 20 weeks is the week before Christmas! What a brilliant present!

I have told my BFFs, mum and sister. Kind of wish i'd not told my family as they are a pessimistic bunch. Also very difficult as a close friend has been trying for over two years and is now at breaking point. Feels so awkward. I don't want to lie to her i feel guilty for being pregnant! (Which she wouldn't want, but can't help feeling it!) Bit uncomfortable though. Feel so sorry for her, especially as I did a "kitten" as you say.

honeysucklejasmine · 05/09/2014 17:12

But i just want to shout it from the hilltops! I'M HAVING A BABY! Hell yeah!

JuniDD · 05/09/2014 17:36

Hello, welcome leela (don't think I said before) & honey. As rpopz isn't here to remind you - keep drinking water!

Pis do you have a highpowered job where you have to travel a lot? I'm imagining so!

I am so tired at the moment, can't believe how much I sleep. I really want to get some energy back but apparently it's pretty normal. How will I look after a baby in this state?! Or will I suddenly find some reserves once baba appears?! HA!

Sling bits:
NCT sling safety page

Looks like that's all I've got. Ha! So much for bookmarking it up. I'll be interested to see how you get on with the Moby with a real baby cookie! It's actually quite similar to the Wilkinet now I think about it.

Baby been moving a lot lately, so that's good. I tried to call the midwives yesterday but no one answered!

I have a job where I travel a lot Wink

wilmabedrock · 05/09/2014 17:52

Don't they have an answerphone Juni? That's shocking. Thanks for link. I"m also shattered. My lovely toddler had a 3 hour sleep this afternoon though so I joined her. Think I possibly feel worse for it though!

Pisghetti · 05/09/2014 17:53

That came across as more cryptic than I intended - I just go where I'm told. I have no power. I prefer it that way Smile

ZylaB · 05/09/2014 17:53

Welcome everyone!

And thanks for the kind words guys, I'll try not to dwell on it too much.

Also, I really must drink more too!

JuniDD · 05/09/2014 18:11

oh, sorry about the eye thing zyla, try not to worry too much. Flowers

Yes, keep drinking - I'm finding if I really go for it in the evening I don't wake up at 4am hungry. Go figure, but nice to sleep through!

pis are you the DRIVER???? (I like guessing games, feel free to ignore me!) That's very cool if you are though!

Oh, they do have an answerphone wil but I didn't know what to say as it was, let alone leave a message (I hate phones, unless it's work). I need to try to worry a bit more, probably. Well, I worry, just always think "Ah, I'll give it a few hours" and things tend to resolve.

OP posts:
Leela5 · 05/09/2014 18:18

I don't think I'll get away without telling work for very long as there are health and safety issues. But for now I'm hugging it to myself

Pisghetti · 05/09/2014 18:27

Ha no! I don't even have a company car so I take the train. We have offices in Wales and London so I travel between the two and occasionally I'm allowed out to Europe for larger meetings. I find it hard to describe what I do. It's a mix between turning up at meetings to fly the corporate flag and sitting in a dark room poring over techy documents translating them into something understandable for the management team. I did have a great big stack of papers on fuel poverty to see me through this train journey but I forgot to pack them Blush

wilmabedrock · 05/09/2014 18:27

I hate phones too juni. Harder to tell what people are thinking!
