Just Shagging - Thread 11 for Graduated Viroids!

JuniDD · 17/08/2014 06:27

Welcome, welcome, welcome to the 11th grads thread...celebrating the success of Just Shagging in getting us viroids upduffed Grin

For those that don't know, a 'viroid' is from the original JSing thread 1, where someone was trying to type ladies (in reference to all the JSing ladies), but their phone decided to call us all viroids instead!

The name stuck and we've been the JSing viroids ever since.

The thread we have graduated from is here in its 27th outing.

There is also a Just Mumming thread in postnatal here once your babies come along, or to keep up with the graduated graduates!

There is also a secret facebook group, if you want to join, ask in-thread.

So, roll call below please, viroids! Smile

Minion · 04/09/2014 17:55

Fabulous pis such a lovely feeling isn't it x

Nessalina · 04/09/2014 18:42

Great news Pis! Such a relief to get that scan over with Smile You can start really enjoying it now! Fab fab.

Zyla, I loved the Uppababy vista! The icandy only just pipped it to the post because it's tandem options were a wee bit more versatile, but it was a definite contender!

wilmabedrock · 04/09/2014 18:56

Hurray Pis, fabulous news.

cookielove · 04/09/2014 19:01

I'm struggling with our buggy at the moment. Don't know how I'm going to lift it in a month or so.

I've got goldfish memory. Have we talked slings/baby carriers before? What are people going for if they're thinking of getting one?

JuniDD · 04/09/2014 20:09

Ooh, my favourite topic! I don't think we've done it before.
I got a Wilkinet on offer and my SIL has donated me a Moby. I've tried them both out with a teddy bear and they feel pretty comfy. We'll see how it goes once baba is here. I also like the look of a Beco but will wait to see how it goes. Lots of people seem to get addicted to them!

wilmabedrock · 04/09/2014 20:17

Ha! I don't know what any of those are. Off to google!

ZylaB · 04/09/2014 20:27

I'd looked at the caboo close (nct one I think?) but I'm really unsure about slings, def want to try one though

JuniDD · 04/09/2014 20:30

Wilkinet is a soft structured carrier, which is just tied around you.
Moby is a length of fabric, slightly stretchy.

I wondered about the Caboo Close, it looked like the edges might be a bit hard...

DH & I tried them both and he's already excited. Which is good!

wilmabedrock · 04/09/2014 20:43

I'm so confused. I kind of want a carrier type but am reading all the hip dysplasia stuff and how it's better for them not to be upright etc. I like the ring slings but worried they'll hurt my already dodgy back.

JuniDD · 04/09/2014 21:00

Ones which keep the baby's legs in an "M" shape are meant to be fine. will post some links to sling safety I've got bookmarked when back on computer. It's a bit of a minefield as loads of people use ones which are alledgedely "dangerous" but their kids are fine!

OP posts:
wilmabedrock · 04/09/2014 21:08

sorry meant *better to be upright.

I guess the majority of kids will be fine but doesn't mean there isn't a higher risk IYKWIM.

Lots of people have recommended the baby bjorn to me and that's supposed to be the worst one. Looks bloody uncomfy I think. The Tula looks quite nice.

Thanks Juni, that would be helpful. Just found some babywearingschool site which seems quite simple to understand.

Nessalina · 04/09/2014 23:38

Several of my friends are big baby wearing advocates, so lots of offers of slings to borrow Smile I worry most about my back tbh, but I think it'd be good for DH to be a sling man - we'll see!

I'm a bit worried I might be getting SPD Confused Been getting some stabby foof pains the last few days, googled and got the NHS page about SPD/PPGP, and it seems I have several of the symptoms! I just thought this level of owch was normal! Has anyone else been getting pelvic pain?

wilmabedrock · 05/09/2014 06:10

I've been getting a bit this time round but mine is mostly at the back which I don't think is so bad. The yoga has really helped actually but you have to be careful about certain movements if you have pain at the front. You can google positions to avoid like I don't think you're supposed to stretch your legs too far apart. I think sleeping with a pillow between your legs is meant to help. Also those bump belts help take some of the weight off. Maybe refer yourself to physio?

Pisghetti · 05/09/2014 06:31

My friend is a big baby wearing advocate and has offered to let me try hers out when her baby is born (Dec so I'll be huge - not sure how practical that is!). I think she has two but she's a member of a sling group so has tried a few types out. I'm quite interested in giving it a go.

I loooove that hoodie blanket thing! Might have to be my first purchase (in red).

Spent a while googling nubs yesterday and I think baby has a girl nub. I'm still leaning towards team yellow at the anomaly scan but DP wants to know. We have a while yet to argue that through!

wilmabedrock · 05/09/2014 06:46

I wish I'd got the biggest size morrck. Hated when she got too big for it and I had to buy a footmuff.

Leela5 · 05/09/2014 07:29

pis congratulations on your scan! That must have been very exciting Grin

I have to admit to being completely overwhelmed by all the buggy/sling chat as I'm trying to get my head round everything. We told my mum yesterday, phoned her back an hour later and she was still crying!

I didn't realise you count from last period so when I phoned doctor I said I was 2 weeks. They said phone back at 4 weeks. I now know I'm actually 4 weeks so I've got to phone again today - what a nob!

ZylaB · 05/09/2014 07:36

la I had the exact same discussion with my doc! she said "ok so you're 4 weeks" and I replied with, "no, I ovulated on such and such a date, so it's 2 weeks" and she had to explain dating :)

wilmabedrock · 05/09/2014 07:52

Aw how lovely lala. That was a bit silly of doctor though as how would you possibly know you were pg at 2 weeks? They should have just asked for last AF date to avoid confusion.

Don't worry, just ignore all the baby equipment chat for now. I suspect you'll be focussing all your energy on crotch watch and boob prodding for the time being Grin .

Pisghetti · 05/09/2014 08:05

Aww La bless her!

What did the docs think you were saying? "Hi Dr, I've just had sex so I'm pregnant". My mum and dad actually did something like this when they were having my brother. It was luck (depending on how you look at it) that she actually did get pregnant!
