Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
eidsvold · 19/09/2006 22:25

my belly popped at 7 weeks and i have been madly waiting to 12 weeks to stop squeeziong into clothes and getting into comfy maternity clothes. Finally maternity jeans came out - couldn't fit into other jeans - just could not get zip down up around the waist.

So comfy to be in maternity clothes.

eidsvold · 19/09/2006 22:26

oops always forget

12+5

kittywits · 19/09/2006 22:29

Trouble is maternity jeans are cut so high. I feel like I'm wearing nappies until the old bump grows a bit

fatfox · 20/09/2006 06:37

Eivs _ I got into maternity clothes at about 11 weeks and was sooo happy to do so - what a relief.

Talking of reliefs - I was in work meeting last week about 8pm and desperate for a fart. There were about 30 people in the meeting, local police, housing officers, residents etc (meeting was about anti-social behaviour and a bid for more facilities for the kids) . I tried to supress it and got really bad belly ache. After about 30 minutes of this, I sauntered off to the loos, a look of eager anticipation on my face. Had a wee etc and let out a huge whoppa that sounded like an large elephant trumpetting. I was really pleased with myself until I left the loo and found one of my work colleagues was waiting right outside the door

Kitty - I was in a horrendous mood yesterday too - even told my neighbour off in a friendly manner for parking in "my" space (its not my space, just the space I like best ). How unreasonable is that? I think the silly posts were me trying to get into a better mood (and it worked to, thanks to Onilly and Laid back ). Hope you feel better today and got some rest last night.

I thought a Kangaroo Korner was where naughty Kangaroos were made to sit until they've thought aout their behaviour and apologised..?

DH is Aboriginal Australian - its nice to meet some other mixed race families on here. What do your children look like, Kitty and Rosylily? I'm Irish looking and DS has dark skin, dark brown eyes and blond hair (!), DD has the whitest skin, blue eyes and blond hair. Their features are very similar, but their skin tones are very different. They look quite funny when in the bath together, one white, one brown

But back to my fave subject...Diva I totally agree about the lactulose and wind generation!!!

fatfox · 20/09/2006 06:45

Off to Birmingham today for a two day work jolly, so suppose I'd better go and get organised. Its hardly Madrid, but there you go....

kittywits · 20/09/2006 07:20

have fun and don't fart too loudly

eidsvold · 20/09/2006 07:26

fat fox - I am an aussie - not indigenous. Dd1 has an aboriginal name that means daughter - picked by her pommy father!! Everyone in the Uk loved the name but always looked at me when I told them where it came from like I had picked the name.

Rosylily · 20/09/2006 10:03

I am a bit peed off today cuz I've been loving my walks to and from nursery but today my dislocating prob started and I ended up limping home. Looks like my walking days for this pregnancy may be numbered. Poo bum I'll never be able to park up at that school, its chocoblock. I'll be banging into everyone!!!

all the farting is hilarious. No problem for me, my body is used to all the weird stuff I always eat!!

My ds1 is from irish 1st hubby so he's blue eyed curly mopped. dd is dark like her dad with dark brown hair with red highlights, ds2 is a bit paler but a minnie me of his dad in build. Its amazing what we all produce isn't it. Your kids sound gorgeous fatfox.
15 wks 3

kittywits · 20/09/2006 10:45

Rosy do you have spd? I always get that later, bummer isn't it?
I have a real mixture of colours with the kids, ds1 is dark haired, hazel eyed, and slightly tanned looking.
Ds2 is pale skinned, blue eyed and has curly blond hair,
DD1 has skin the colour of light honey in winter and dark honey in summer and big dark brown eyes(lucky thing).
DD2 Has blond streaked hair, huge blue eyes but quite honey coloured skin( again lucky thing), DD3 has dark hair, very dark brown eyes and we'll see about skin tone.
I've found it takes a couple of summers to develop.
This next one should be a blue eyed boy then

anniediv · 20/09/2006 10:47

DD1 and DD3 are very similar and look like me. DD2 is the opposite colouring. She gets very sensitive about people commenting how alike the other 2 are. I'm hoping this DD/S is the same as her!!

onilly · 20/09/2006 12:29

Fatfox - keep your eyes on your bag!!!! I think there is a madman stalking PG woman stealing their worldly possessions for the hell of it !
(erm...I have a rich, imaginative life!)

Kitty - Frankly I was NOT sleeping a week ago, but I have put that down to a stressy time. I have a sort of routine now, which includes a bath (with lavender!) and horlicks (just like a kid..) and it seems to do the trick. I am altogether a much much nicer human being with sleep.....

Ok - am def on Late Night Shopping this Thursday to purchase my first maternity buys - sounds like a pair of jeans are a must, and one or two bits to get through work... Any recommendations from the wise MN'ers ?

All your kids sound truly gorgeous. Fatfox how exotic !

Delighted to hear farting stories, very very luckily for me I have own office that with door closed can allow allmighty trumpets. Problem is the smell..rough..... have now taken to carrying a large deodorant in my bag to fumigate office afterwards. Have had several close calls, but so far its working !! ewwww, that is so gross.... but really if this tip helps anyone please use it !

Hope you are all ok today...

onilly · 20/09/2006 12:31

Rosy - urg - sorry Hope its just a hiccup. Sounds really sore.

anniediv · 20/09/2006 12:35

Onilly, sorry have lost track of who's already got what..is this your first dd or ds? Just wanted to say that Blooming Marvellous do a really nice pair of maternity jeans, they are all denim with just two little bits of stretchy material at the side and adjustable buttons inside (I can't stand mat trousers that have the 'bump' made from different material to the legs IYSWIM)

onilly · 20/09/2006 12:39

Hi Annie - its my first, so I will be the pesky git that will ask some pretty inane questions - so all of your patience is appreciated! I have also heard Blooming Marvelous are good - thanks, amazing how its the jeans that are the first barometers of our body size!

eidsvold · 20/09/2006 12:42

2 dd's - 1 is 4 and 1 almost 2 - blonde. blue eyed, dd1 green eyes - me - dark hair dark eyes - got dh's colouring. I look like the nanny -

leogaela · 20/09/2006 13:34

Phew, finally managed to catch up again!
Also having a bad day today, but cheered up reading all your stories. Sorry, I guess I have selective memory but can't add of my own stories and my bowels are behaving very well at the moment !

Went shopping today at lunchtime and got a couple of bits from H&M, I'm quite small but they do xs and s sized stuff some of which seem to hold up. I have gone for the big elasic front trousers this time which I would have died rather than wear last time, I just think they may be more comfortable. I hate anything cutting in underneath my bump, got terrible cramps from that last time..

anyway, feeling miserable because I didn't want to leave my little angel (he is a blond haired blue eyed boy, but not sure where he got it from!)at nursery today and having a crisis about what to do after the twins are born, not sure if I want to work or not.... a bit early ot worry about it all but I've been half in tears most of the day - I guess its just hormones!

kittywits · 20/09/2006 14:10

Saw a lovely midwife today, actually treated me as a mother of 5. She said I was now classed as a "Grand Multip" which I think means a shed load of kids !
She was very pro home birth and said the only concern now would be that of post partum bleeding 'cos the old womb is a bit worn out!!!
She even had a listen in on baby which they don't normally do at 14 weeks incase they can't hear anything and the mother panics. It was lovely to hear it, so reassuring. I think this preg will be ok now.

kittywits · 20/09/2006 14:12

Sorry, you're feeling bad leo
sorry, brain's gone will write more personalised messages later

divastrop · 20/09/2006 15:05

hello.i couldnt get on the computer this morning cos ds1 deleted all the program files for some reason...i dont want to be in his shoes when he gets home.
ds1 is ginger.his father was dark haired and im blonde so we think he was a genetic throwback.my 2 dd's have brown/blonde/auburn hair and blue eyes and ds2 has blonde hair and blue eyes.dp is half native american and quite dark.dd2 looks like my mum and me(apart from the hair)so im hoping this one looks like dp.

hope ur all ok

15 weeks

Rosylily · 20/09/2006 15:07

Kittywits that mw sounds fab. There are some really good ones out there too. I'm meeting mw tomorrow for first time. I hope I get one like yours!
I do get spd though I don't actually know what that stands for. I had it first 15 years ago and no-one knew what I was talking about.
then with dd it started at 4 months, with ds2 it wasn't as bad strangely because it tends to get worse each time apparently. My cousin ended up in a wheelchair with it.
So I am a bit nervous, just hoping it won't be too bad. I think I overdid things yesterday cuz I finally had energy to do some housework. So it looks like I'm just going to have to live in a big messy hovel for next while.
And dd keeps peeing everywhere so it smells nice too.
I don't care anymore!

leogaela · 20/09/2006 15:36

That's great Kitty, wow she has made you feel positive and great hasn't she!

Feeling much better now , but then it is almost time to go home and I have made some progress on my work today (and caught up on mn - much more important!)

fatfox · 20/09/2006 17:34

Managed to borrow my colleagues laptop - he knew I wanted to "talk to my strange friends on the internet" (his words, not mine)

Rosylily - you poor thing, take it easy

Kitty/Rosy - you kids sound lovely too - I think mixed race children often get the best of both don't they?

Diva - your DP is as exotic as mine - where did you meet? Met mine at a photo exhibition in London and kidnapped him
Eids - there are some really good aboriginalnames aren't there - we managed to find two which also sound celtic and have great meanings.

AnnieD - I think mine are getting a bit sensitive as DH and I keep laughing at the fact that one is white and one brown I must stop doing it, but they do look quite funny together in the bath

Onilly - where can I buy that fart neutralisor in a can?

I would recomend JoJoMamanBebe - they do lovely clothes that seem to last the duration> I'm currently wearing some from my first pregnancy 6 years ago

Leo - I'm a bit like you at the moment - get tearful leaving DD and DS - think its the hormones, as usually it doens't bother me too much>

Diva - I'm a copper top and neither of my parents are - someone told me it misses a generation (though I've seen red headed parents with red headed kids...?) Apparently red hair is dying out!

Hope UR all well

Must dash to pick up free goodies ...

kittywits · 20/09/2006 18:31

Rosy SPD stands for symphsis pubis disfundtion. In my lasdt preg i was doing really well up until about 61/2 months when i stupidly tried to hurry down the road just a tad too quickly and I felt it sort of snap out of place and that was it. I was so cross with myself. I'll have to be more careful this time.
My house stinks too and it looks like we've been badly burgled !!

Fatfox you couldn't keep away eh? Know what you mean. This place is completely addictive and I'm neglecting my kids even more than usual!

Hope everyone's had a good day, enjoying the sunshine.

kittywits · 20/09/2006 18:32

Mean Symphisis pubis disfunction, doh!

sharklover · 20/09/2006 19:18

Hi guys - if any of you live in Essex - I have started teaching Aqua natal classes in Leigh on Sea at Belfairs pool - its Fridays 12.30-1.15 then we go for lunch afterwards so very social. Great exercise in pregnancy and good muscle strengthening for labour too! Would love to see you!!!
