Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
leogaela · 19/09/2006 14:54

OK, I've given up trying to read the 1000 odd posts that have happened since I've been away, I just want to get on and start chatting with you all again!

There are sooooo many new people here, great , but not so easy to keep up with, phew!

We had a great holiday in Italy, a couple of days in Siena, the a couple of weeks on the Tuscany coast, then a few days in Rome. Ds had a fantastic time and it was really wonderful to have so much intense and relaxed time with him, I feel like we are closer and I know him better.

I am definitely moving into the blooming phase of pregnancy (apart from the constant slightly niggling headache) I am feeling great! I am noticeably pregnant now and sometimes I think I can feel something moving, but only on the left side. You are supposed to feel the babies earlier with twins, so I'm even more convinced its the babies I can feel !

I still haven't gained any weight ! I am still less than my pre-pregnancy weight even though I am eating constantly. Ds kept me running around a lot on holiday though, so maybe I just couldn't eat enough to keep up!

Twins 14+6

LaidbackinAsia · 19/09/2006 15:25

Welcome back Leo.... Whippie is having twins too ....so there are 3 of you on this thread !!

Hope everyone is starting to bloom, feel great , have rude dreams, find trousers that fit and don't fall down in meetings etc etc.

Fatfox PMSL at your bosses underwire mishap... had similar experience at work once ....picture the scence.... pair of knickers which I had casually slipped off with my jeans the night before.... wore same jeans to work the next day... knickers still in jeans.... knickers worked their way down leg during the course of the day... walked into team meeting and knickers fell out bottom of trouser leg. Nice.

Rosylily... I would like to say that my life is glam ...but it would be a lie (see above) ! Having spent 10 years working very hard - I am just trying to see if there is an alternative ie. work less hard and have fun ! So far so good

Had midwife appointment today and have scan next Thurs 29th. She also reckons I will be able to have my anomaly scan at 19 weeks before I go back to Asia - all in all fabtastic.

Hi all
Does anyone know where you can get your boobs measured? I haveout grown my 38Bs but have no idea what I am now. M&S used to do it didn't they? I don't want to appear the wierdo in the changing room...but I don't want to spend loads either

pennygaff · 19/09/2006 15:45

Booboobedoo, boy names me and DP like- Ted...thats all we've managed to agree on, he had some exotic girls names but bump and his tail have trashed them....hee, hee

anniediv · 19/09/2006 16:52

Hello all, I'm putting a link to a thread I just started. Any ideas gratefully received!! {smile]

PUPP thread

anniediv · 19/09/2006 16:53

, even

divastrop · 19/09/2006 17:09

at everyone being on here while they are at work!
leo,i think i joined this thread after u went away but im due on the same day as u by the look of it.

i didnt think of any names last time till after my 20 week scan, then dd1 and i had a stupid conversation whilst trying to name the new goldfish, which involved us singing 'i will survive'to said fish.as a joke i said we would call the fish gaynor and the baby Gloria(after gloria gaynor).it just stuck even though we tried to think of alternatives so Gloria she is.
im sure im having a boy this time and i hate trying to think of boys names.im sure something suitable will come to us!

im glad im not the only one having very strange dreams

onilly · 19/09/2006 18:30

Penny, I can only think of posh stores like Harvey Nicks, Selfridges or some Lewis branches... then good old Marks and Spencers. I'd go with them to start esp. if you dont want to spend a fortune.

kittywits · 19/09/2006 18:38

I like Corrin, as in Corrin Redgrave, but DP says it sounds like a Chinese person who can't say colin. He's got no taste

pennygaff · 19/09/2006 19:43

good old M&S how did that shop ever nearly go bust (haw haw) the world will always need maternity underwear and old ladies need quality desserts.

fatfox · 19/09/2006 19:45

Kitty - One of Wakefield's son's is called Corrin, so you're in good Co.

Our children have ethnic names (from DH) which kind of narrows it down and makes it tricky - to pick a name that's true to their heritage but doesn't sound too wierd or hard to spell.

Laidback - loved your story - do you think your colleagues thought you'd just had a shag?

I was in Sicily a few years ago on hols with lil' sis. We were walking in front of the hotel DJ, who she really fancied and she was kind of doing a slightly bum wiggling walk in an attempt to look sexy, when her sanitary towel fell out of her shorts onto the floor of the hotel lobby. Luckily it had no gunge on it

Leo- great to have you back - Tuscany, you lucky thing! and two babies wiggling, you lucky thing

pennygaff · 19/09/2006 19:48

like that sanitary towel story, hee hee, I had a panty liner go missing once in a nightclub , It turned up scrunched up near the bar and somebody stood on it and it stuck to their shoe.
A gross story but it was very funny to watch.

fatfox · 19/09/2006 19:51

Penny sniggering away here at the thought of some dude strutting across the floor of the nightclub with your panty liner stuck on his heel...

pennygaff · 19/09/2006 19:55

That was before wings, If I remember rightly

onilly · 19/09/2006 20:02

Penny and Fatfox, you nutters - but what a scream.... also feel a bit better about snapping elastic and showing knickers to audience of 20...clearly I am not the only tit in the world!
The only other thing that equals that, is after loo visit, tucking my skirt into my knickers and tights, sauntering through slightly mullered at a pub to shrieks of laughter, I think I was trailing loo paper from my shoes too.....

fatfox · 19/09/2006 20:02

Anyone got any stories about uncontrollable PG farts?

Sorry, lowering the tone a bit aren't I?

fatfox · 19/09/2006 20:05

Onilly - oooh that reminds me of an open day event we had at work once when I was young. I was on the front desk greeting all the visitors and spent all morning greeting people with my skirt tucked in my pants - with tights gusset, grey knickers and fat arse on full show to all

Never did manage to get promoted in that company....

dollyp · 19/09/2006 20:14

I can't keep up with the exploding bras, errant sanitary towels and exploding trousers! This is hilarious. Much better than the telly! Onilly, I sympathise so much. Quite often if I tell DH about my tales of woe he is stuffing his hand down his throat to avoid laughing! The trouble with pregnancy is that your body is not your own and becomes very unreliable. I was huge last time with a low lying baby and every time I coughed, sneezed etc I had a little wee . I was worried though about farting as well at the same time and dying of embarrassment!

Booboo, I can thoroughly recommend Dr Stephenson if Dr Bruml is not available. She is lovely and very obliging with the old expensive items on prescriptions. She is only in Tues and Thurs though. I agree Dr B is great. I wonder if we have been at the surgery at the same time?! Would love to meet one Thurs. 2 weeks time would be the 5th and we are moving house that day so how about the 12th? Anyone else fancy joining us?

Welcome back Leo, glad all is well. Talk again tomorrow XXXX

kittywits · 19/09/2006 20:45

Whatt's your kids origin fatfox? My dp is half bengali, but mine don't really have exotic names.
Sorry I'm not more chatty I'm v. tired and bad tempered.
I've just been filling in my booking form for the midwife tomorrow and for alot of the questions like " marital status" and "one or two parent family" I thought what the hell has that got to do with my pregnancy? So I didn't fill it in. In awareness of my short fuse I am giving people a wide berth, heaven help the miudwife tomorrow
Have been thinking of getting either an ergo baby carrier or a kangaroo korner one, anyone any experience of these?
13+6

kittywits · 19/09/2006 20:49

Ah I used to live just round the corner from you Dolly. If I were still there I would love to join you. As a teenager I used to spend many an evening at a lock in a the 'half moon'. I could drink like a trooper in those days and didn't have a care in the world

Rosylily · 19/09/2006 21:02

My sister once realised she had been having a conversation with a male work colleague with one boob outside her vest top! he left the room and a female mate came in and started screaming in horror. The guy later swore he hadn't noticed- big fat liar of course!
I think I've blanked out my own embarrassing tales.
I am not having the weird dreams this time so far but I still vividly remember past pregnant dreams!
But my brain has turned to complete mush. I was dizzy enough before!
Laidback I thoroughly approve of your not working too hard plan. Life is too short and no-one is goig to be lying on their deathbed wishing they had worked longer hours and lived life less!

Rosylily · 19/09/2006 21:05

My dh is Pakistani and no-one gets my kids names right. Am aiming for a more westernised pakistani name this time.

divastrop · 19/09/2006 21:09

who asked about farting?i nearly gassed dp last night, the poor sod.i think its the lactulose that causes it!
last yr when i was expecting dd2,i was talking to my councellor about deep emotinal issues, when a very loud smelly one escaped from me...i was so embarrassed but she saw the funny side,we couldn't get the conversation back on track after that though

what is an ergo carrier?

onilly · 19/09/2006 21:16

teee-hee Fatfox, your and my fat arse on world display - theres a thought! Well, I was very young too at this particular display in pub and did not pull that night, so go figure!
Ermm - to answer your question - farting is now a brand new highly delightful skill of mine. I out do DH, who can clear a room....especially after an ale and curry! Unfortunately DH has passed being impressed and now I am sure I am registering disgust on his face ! I am sure its jealousy!

Kitty, agree, I filled in Chapter and Verse with my midwife, frankly some of the questions seemed controversial to me and I did feel, whats the hell this got to do with having a kiddo ... you need to sleep...ask Aunty ONilly - this is the cure for EVERYTHING of this I am convinced! Hope you will feel better tomorrow

Night all !

kittywits · 19/09/2006 22:21

onilly, how do you sleep?!

Diva an Ergo is a rather good looking baby carrier. I am always on the look out for baby stuff that will make my life easier
