kittywits · 10/10/2006 10:08

Annie, oh god, is it a girl thing too, help me!!

Onilly I don't know about superwoman, bloody mad woman more like it!!

Has anyone else got falling out hair, mine is but I think it might be stress related

I'm still rally stuck on the name Ronnie for a boy, don't know why' cos it's not exactly popular at the mo is it? It sort of reminds me of a tough little tyke. My mum hates it, good enough reason for me .
I've been thinking about all the famous people called Ronnie. Please tell me if you really hate it or don't mind it.

Rosylily · 10/10/2006 10:10

Kittywits my 14 year old ds is as bad! I still have to remind him to brush his teeth and spent 10 mins this morning brushing his hair. (not that I'm a smother or anything) His hair is a gorgeous curly mop but a short cut might be more practical! He won't wear a rain coat so let him get soaked I say!
Welcome back spookegypt. I want to change my name to rosyspookily but I can't work out how. needless to say I can't do links either.

divastrop · 10/10/2006 10:11

morning...i think.ive got a cold.it will go round and round the family now till march

kitty-yes my mum is mad,as is my nan,but my nan is a funny bitchy old person kind of mad so i hope i turn out like her!she has lung cancer(even though she gave up smoking over 30 yrs ago)and is having chemo just so she can stay alive a bit longer to annoy my mum-thats what she said to the consultant
my 2 older 1's forgot their book bags yeasterday morning and then dd1 said i was nasty for making them run home and get them.a couple of months ago i forgot to put any undies out with ds1's school uniform.so he put his trousers on with no knickers.i still have to tell him to brush his teeth in the morning even though hes been doing it every day since he was 7 months old!

eids-my ds2 had that thing where his elbow popped out.it went back in on its own the second we got to a+e though.

spook-i cant even remember my 2nd pg.i dont think i even accepted i was pg properly till i had the 20 week scan and even then i didnt really 'connect' with her till she was born.i think i was just too busy with ds1 to even think about it.

hope every1's ok.

Rosylily · 10/10/2006 10:14

Onilly that is awful about the crank call. get one of those deafening whistles to blow if it happens again. Probably is the workman, prat.

Ronnie is a nice name I think.

anniediv · 10/10/2006 10:16

Kitty, I like Ronnie, also Vinnie, Alfie, Albie etc all the little East End gangster names!

Have not even thought about names. As we thought we were 'done' we have kind of used all our favourite girl names.

Same with godparents, with dd3 we used our last reserves of possible godparents, have got to unearth more now, or recycle some we've used before!

kittywits · 10/10/2006 10:37

Diva your nan sounds great !!

I have just spent along time make lists for the boys. I did it a while back and it worked a treat, can't remember why it stopped.
Now all that concentration has made my head hurt. I am so out of concentation practice. I think my brain is atrified

onilly · 10/10/2006 10:44

Aware that I should not have referred to the workman as foreign blokes, but feel I can be excused as I am a foreigner in UK too..so If I offended anyone....

spookegypt · 10/10/2006 10:50

onilly def report it!

blimey you lot can chat. not going to attempt tp read back the posts. ever! so will have to get to know you all.

i'm in nw leics, near Ashby de la Zouch and Melbourne (south derby),. right on border of both counties actually.

Rosyspookily · 10/10/2006 10:51

Where are you from then Onilly? My dh has been here 20 years but some people talk to him really slowly and loudly!Thats Ireland for you though. They mean well (most of the time.)

anniediv · 10/10/2006 10:52

Well done on sorting the halloween name, rosyspookylily!! Ooh, scary!

flannelettepyjamas · 10/10/2006 11:01

Hi everyone,
I hope everyone's doing ok and the bleeding's stopped, pimples have burst, social workers have been slapped, babies are kicking, tummies are bigger, tummies are smaller, etc, etc, etc......
We're doing ok. A few small kicks, tiredness is better ( but awful after a day's work), no sickness but still no pregnant tummy action here!
I've got my CS date already (22nd or 23rd March)..... scary! I was asked which date would suit DH's work better and was outraged that this would even be a consideration. So I said that either would do. Knowing full well that the 23rd would be better for him really! Honestly!
I've been trawling DD around all the babies I know in town trying to get her used to the idea. She's quite sweet at 16 months and has been nice and gentle (so far)which is a far cry from her usual tomboy rampaging. And she can say "Beeebaay" .

flannelettepyjamas · 10/10/2006 11:02

"pimple"?, sorry.... boil.

leogaela · 10/10/2006 11:03

hi all, missed a few days on here again and now struggling to catch up! Back at work today as well so sneaking a look in between guessing when someone will walk past my desk!

Feeling good today, went out for a good walk on Sunday and took ds to the zoo yesterday so I was outside most of the day.

Not much else to say really until i have caught up on all your posts!

Whoowhoobewhooooooh · 10/10/2006 11:20

Morning!

Glad the toothpaste helped onilly, but I have to ask... did you squeeze? (tut tut). You always get that blister effect if you do. Perhaps I should have mentioned that before (sorry ). btw, I'd definitely call BT re: the phone-call. They can trace and block numbers for you.

Discussion was a non-starter: DH came home all sorry and apologised for being such a moody git yesterday. Hoorah!

Actually started this post half an hour ago, then had to break off for a massive vom session (tmi - sorry). Yuck.

Oooh! Almost forgot...

My BF's waters broke at 2am (she's 7 days overdue), and she went to hospital at about 9:30 with strong regular contractions. Thanks for the labour vibes: they worked .

onilly · 10/10/2006 11:22

Thanks Flannelette... I really needed the validation that this is a serious infliction on my face!

I think its from stress. When we relocated to the States (in a record breaking two weeks) I got boils under my arms. I have got them several other times as well, but the face is new. I feel so ugly today!

Rosy - I like to proudly call myself a Mongrel. I have lived in Zimbabwe, South Africa, UK with 6 years in the States. Mum is from Swaziland, Dad from UK. I feel right at home here, but in the US whenever I opened my mouth to speak I used to get paranoid. People openely gawped.

My DH is Irish.

I have a very funny accent American, SouthAfrican, Brit with the odd Irish twang! Ewww.

Welcome back SpookEygyt - what a great name and what an adventure you have in front of you with your exotic move!

Geez, I HAVE to work now.

Jaysecond · 10/10/2006 12:38

morning all, i never seem to have time to sit and hold 'posting conversations' although i am still here and reading bits and bobs when i can!

DH is away for the reast of the week with work, boo... but it does mean, i get the bed to myself, i can have cereal for breckfast, lunch and dinner, and i get to go to bed as early as i want without feeling too bad about it!!

Glad to read that most things are going well with everyone, someone said about starting a new thread when we get to 1000 posts, id have to agree with that, and looking at the rate you ladies post i think it will be sooner rather than later!!

Things here are all ok re the buba, although i still havnt had confirmation of when my 20 wk scan will be, have called them but they say they dont have it scheduled yet and to call at the end of the week.... seems a bit slow to me. Does everyone else have their dates? Also had to have my bloods retake as there had been some cock up with the labelling or something....joy! Still never mind. Like many others i havnt felt much movement. I first felt something at about 11 weeks, but dont know if it was the uterus having a stretch or what, then about 15 weeks i def felt some somersaults, but nothing since. Seeing as though this is my second i was looking forward to experiencing it earlier. Still i guess you cant odds these things, it will happen when its ready!
Are many of you going to find out what you are having (sorry if this has been discussed already!) We found out with DD and i will def find out this time round also had a 3d scan with DD so feel like i cant not do it for this little one. Just have to find a place in Nottingham!

Best go and do some of that boring housework stuff while she sleeps. love to you all xx

ps. loving the idea of changing to halloween names, how the heck do you do it?

LunarSea · 10/10/2006 14:53

No date for a 20 week scan here either. Though they've apparently got such a big backlog that it's more likely to be about 24 or 25 weeks Not quite sure if that's a good thing (might see more detail), a bad thing (it's too late if they did discover anything serious) or just an attempt into forcing us to pay to have the scan done privately to save our financially strapped local NHS from having to pay for it.

AmieR · 10/10/2006 15:36

I had my 12 week scan at 15 weeks, After having originally received the appointment for the 28th of September when I would have been 18 weeks! Way to go there! Have my 20 week scan when I'm "22" weeks, Which they don't really know if I will be 22 weeks because as my dating scan was late they couldn't be so accurate apparently! I have month window for my EDD! March 1st being the middle of it!

divastrop · 10/10/2006 16:15

i was given an appt for my 20 week scan when i had my 12 week scan.it was originally 27th oct but i changed it to 31st so it wasnt during half term.i will be 20+6 then.very efficient up here with scan appts

onilly-did u report that perv?i dont think foreigner is offensive, unless the pc brigade have gone totally insane?i get called a foreigner up here cos im southern

TheBlonde · 10/10/2006 17:30

Hi all

I am definitely feeling movement now which is quite cool. I kept forgetting I'm preg so it does remind me

Diva - my scan is also on Halloween

(18 weeks today)

kiwibella · 10/10/2006 18:46

Hi you busy lot!! I'm feeling lots more movement atm. Dh and dd are desperately trying to join in but nothing outward yet. My next scan is booked for 2 November. I can't wait. I have a midwife appointment during half term and excitedly looking forward to that too. A friend of dh's has been talking to him about their homebirth. He's keen now too... we just need to think about the logistics since we live in a flat on the third floor!

Glad to read that everything seems to be going ok for you all, vomiting and boils aside. If it bugs you any longer, Onilly, go and get it drained!!

fatfox · 10/10/2006 19:08

Onilly - its fine to say "foreign blokes" , just not "foreign bstrds", although would suggest you shout the latter as loud as you can down the phone if it happen again. IS DH back tonight?

Hi everyone else - sorry to hear you are still sick whoowhoo

Must go for a jimmyriddle....

fatfox · 10/10/2006 19:13

Ronnie is my BIL's name - I think its nice

spookegypt · 10/10/2006 19:26

jaysecond, my dh is away until next weds so you're not alone - well you are but you know what i mean! i quite like it for the reasons you do, but also cos it means my mum comes to stay the whole time and completely looks after dd 100% (almost). dd only wants me to put her to bed but lets mum do everything else. lovely. i get to spend lots of time on mumsnet although should be doing some sorting in prep for our move.

had my 20 wk scan booked when went in for 12 week one. they do that at derby. dh will be away when i am 20wks but they said it is very important he is there, so i'm having it the day b4 22 wks. they also said it had to be done before 22 wks! are you in nottingham then? you can go to proscan which do obstetric scanning. we had our nuchal fold scan there and a 3D one for dd. have another 3D one booked for this one in dec. its lovely there.

havent felt movement yet, alhtough did at 17wks with dd. will be that on sat so fingers crossed.

to change your name go to 'your registration' at the top of this page, then log in if they ask you to. then you can just change your username there. remember to change it under this message too the first time you add one.
