OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
kittywits · 07/10/2006 17:57

Whoowhoo that's so scary, it's a pity we can't just shoot these kids. National service would be a good idea.

Diva, how has your day been? Kids playing up?

cazboldy · 07/10/2006 18:23

hi all. kittywits i am glad i am not the only one my little 9 month old has also gotten 2 teeth that appeared yesterday although we have felt them for ages! and he has decided that he can walk too which is basically walking along the sofa and launching himself when he reaches the end and I feel so crap that the last thing I want to do is jump up and down every 2 mins, but then feel guilty as he does look sweet as you say. He is in so much of a hurry to catch up with the others!

kittywits · 07/10/2006 18:49

Caz, that's just it. DD3 scurries about trying to catch the others up. What have you been up to anyway ? You haven't been on here for ages. anything interesting?

divastrop · 07/10/2006 19:36

kitty-i didnt know u were psychicit was the boys' day to whinge today.ds2 gets so bored when hes not at nursery and ds1 just whinges all the tme full stop its just i dont have to listen to it when hes at school.i like my little baby who just sits there and shouts 'mum' or 'dad' when she wants something.and has tantrums if we dont respond immediatly

whoowhoo-
where abouts ru?i suppose where i live has its advantages cos on the rare occasion there are random street attacks and that, everybody is really nosey so they dont hesitate to step in or ring the coppers.
my ds and dd1's school used to be pretty bad,so im told, and was nearly closed down till the current head mistress took over.she won 'head teacher of the year' at the national teaching awards last year.ds1 was on the telly and everything.

hows everyone elses day been?

cazboldy · 07/10/2006 20:02

still got v bad morning sickness that lasts all day and think i am starting to get a bit run down cos of that and not eating properly so am feeling completely knackered! am tired before i even get up! just waiting for it to stop! am 14 + 1 now.

kittywits · 07/10/2006 20:13

Maybe I should rename myself kittythemystic!!

Caz on the sickness
Sorry would write more but the ols brain's gone!

fatfox · 07/10/2006 21:47

Caz - poor you feeling so sick

Kitty - sorry I shouldn't have asked such personal questions on a Saturday morning (specially not on a such a sunny morning ). My Mum's just never been there for me when I really need her. Only when it suits her - she's extremely fickle; hope I'm not like that. Like you, I kind of accept it in order to "get over" it, but that means I'm accepting the fact she's not there. So I think I understand what you mean about your Mum.

Sent my Big Sis an e-mail this morning referring to our Mum as "she who never calls me, even when I'm PG and bleeding" - bit melodramatic but it worked as my Mum called this evening and apologised for never ringing - ha ha. Told her I felt neglected - it'll make a difference for two weeks, then she'll revert back to her true self

We're really "lucky" to live near Kew Gardens - I say that but we have a mega mega mortgage which means I have to work full time. I love living here (brill' schools, river, parks etc) but wonder sometimes what it would be like to live somewhere cheaper; somewhere where you're not surrounded by yummy mummies and loud mouther high acheivers In fact I really wish I could wangle a council house here - that would be an idea solution!!

Step Mum had to give us a lift back from Kew as my pelvis was sore - feel like an old cripple. It must be awful to have spd - I really feel for those of you who have it and have to hobble very carefully when PG.

DD walked when she was 9 months and if we tried to assist her, she would wave her arms round angrily shrieking "no, no, no!" - very independent. She used to look like a funny little midget (am I allowed to say that?) tottering about.

Whoowhoo - that attack was very recent - not surprising you still feel . What a little arsehole - (proud of you for shoving him though ) - really I do sometimes think conscription would solve the problem of all these yobs hanging around intimidating people. I really wouldn't like to inflict them on the Afghans, Iraquis or Lebanese either, but do think the discipline element would sort them out a bit. They'd learn a few skills in the army too - like how to sew on buttons and polish their own shoes

Diva - sorry I had to laugh at your dream - I know it wasn't meant to be funny. It was the idea of your evil ex sneakily planting a porno mag to get your DP in trouble

Penny - I used to go to NCT sales, they are totally mad aren't they? I got some fabulous clothes for DS when he was little from one NCT sale, including a small mustard coloured shirt with black and white dogs on, which is my all time favourite item of children's clothing. I got a baby bjorn at one too, which I used and will use again next year.

Hopw everyone else had a good day in the sun today (and those in warmer climes too )

Also meant to say don't worry at all about asking Q's about my insane mother. Talking is always a sort of therapy,it's just I don't want to bore others with it.
My mother keeps me sweet (ish) because she wants contact with the kids. It's good for them and they are very fond of her, but I always have to be vigilant that she isn't up to her tricks. Glad you've got some sort of attention from yours. When mine is being nice I always forget it's temporary and then get so upset when she does something horrible. Then I get angry with myself for forgetting !
My hips are starting to click and move more than they should now which I'm sure means SPD again later on . Off to bed now.

eidsvold · 08/10/2006 03:27

we have had a lovely morning here in our sunny climes. Dh and I took the dds to the park and they played football whilst I was ordered to sit by dd2 ( almsot 2 goin on 10!!) Then coffee and cake in the park.

Home for lunch and dds asleep.

Have been craving vege subs from subway ( can't remember if they are in the UK) yummy baguette style thing - variety of breads - fresh veges - carrot, cucumber, tomato, lettuce, olives, onion, cheese ( usually swiss), bell peppers and chilli peppers if you want - topped with thousand Island sauce - YUMMY!!!! Had a few whislt dh was away.

Booking in appt at the hosp tomorrow - should be interesting.

15+2

fatfox · 08/10/2006 09:07

Eids - sounds lovely and yes, we do have Subways here here very popular in fact . Let us now how you get on tomorrow - do you have an "NHS" in Australia or do you have to pay? I'd be inerested to now if your health service is is in beter health than ours IFKWIM. Ours has huge debts and its very inefficient, although in theory we all support having it of course

Kittywits - "My mother keeps me sweet (ish) because she wants contact with the kids. • this is me entirely too, so I do know how you feel. I feel so grateful and happy when our mother remembers us that I forget that at the drop of a hat, she can be really fickle and nasty; so every time she's nasty I feel shocked and hurt all over again!

I envy you living near Brighton. We didn't get there this year as I've been tired but we usually go down several times each summer. It only takes 1hr 15 mins from where we live! Do you go to the fab toddler play area on the beach? The one with he paddling pool and aer games and big sandpit? We've spent entire days sitting by that paddling pool! It was a greatday for it yesterday.

By the way, those yummy mummys spend all day in the gym as they're all scared their high earning wizz kid hubbies might run off with a younger model someday

MIAOW!!

eidsvold · 08/10/2006 09:16

fatfox we have medicare which is sort of the equivalent of NHS - although dentistry not covered.

Have no real complaints on NHS - dd1 was a very ill little baby with serious heart defect and she had it repaired - in fact aussie cardiologist said it was an excellent job - very complimentary towards english surgeons. Dd1 was in ICU/SCBU for three weeks and then three weeks again when she was 2 months old having her cardiac surgery. Fabulous fetal cardiologist at Kings - where we were referred for fetal cardiac scans. did not have to wait too long for the referral to kings from local hosp.

Hospital where I had dd1 - clean and fabulous - none of the horror stories you hear or read about. Was given my own room with ensuite for the week I was in.

Had all sorts of care antenatally with dd1 - then moved here to Aus when 19 weeks pregnant with dd2 - picked a gp out of the phone book - she is brilliant. Had fab care in hospital with dd2 ( public patient) so can't complain there.

Think we have just been lucky.

Dh worked for the NHS in an admin capacity for a long time so he is keeping up with happenings there and especially within the two hospital trusts that he worked in.

Whoowhoobewhooooooh · 08/10/2006 10:27

Morning.

Off to the outlaws for lunch in half an hour. Hope they're on good form: they can be hard work.

Had dinner with my BF last night: she's 40+5 and getting frustrated. Can you all send out 'first-stage-labour' vibes towards to the Peckham area for her? Ta!

eidsvold: glad you had a good birth experience with the NHS, especially considering your LO's condition. I'm having mine at Kings, so hopefully it'll be as good.

Having said that, we're having building work done (new kitchen and bathroom) starting at the beginning of January, so we're staying at my parents' in Dorking for the duration. May end up having my baby there instead.

Don't really mind tbh.

19 weeks.

p.s. Cazboldy: my sickness faded dramatically a couple of weeks ago: hang on in there.

kittywits · 08/10/2006 10:51

I was brought up in Peckham (Goose Green actually). It's changed ALOT since I was living there. I try and send those get out baby vibes.

I've booked in with my Doula again which always makes evreything right with the world. Then I don't care about the NHS or any midwives because she'll be there looking after me

Fatfox, next time you're in Brighton come and see us! You can CAT me or something and I'll give you my number. It would be good to put a face to the name.
I haven't been to the playground for a couple of years actually, mainly to do witht the rubbish parking there and having to keep my eye on so many monsters . I would probably go with someone else. The kids always love it.

Eidsvold I have a huge think about any sandwich type thing at the momement, can't get enough of them. My fav at the mo is humous and marinated roast pepppers. Now I'm dribbling !!

fatfox · 08/10/2006 11:53

Hi there again

Eids/whoowhoo - I think very highly of Kings actually - I think their ante-natal care is probably one of the best in the country. Probably due to it being a research hospital and also having the great man Nicholaides based there with his team. I do support the NHS, just wish there was a bit more consistency on the efficiency front

Eids - have heard of Medicare now I come to think of it. Will it be high summer in Oz when you give birth in March?

Kitty - your doula sounds great. Are they ridiculously expensive to hire? Now have a new vision of you: a "fat maggot" floating in the water, - kindly and saintly doula standing by

Will deffo try and get to see you next time we get down there - feel I "know you already" after all our on-line chats and the fights we've been in together . We always park in Hove (First Avenue, Second Avenue etc) it costs 80p for 24 hours. Then it just takes 10 minutes to walk along the promenade thingy up to the children's play area. I never venture into the centre by car, as I hate car parking/traffic jam stress and wil do anything to avoid it.

hmmmm, was fantasising this morning about living somewhere cheap, with tiny or no mortgage, so I could work p/t. DH is giving up work next year to stay at home with the monsters and am slightly jealous

Just realised - 19 weeks today We're all nearly half way there girl's

Rosylily · 08/10/2006 12:12

Eidsvold you've got me craving veggie subs now (slurp)
I'm having a lazy cow day so far. Can't be bothered to get dressed or make dinner. I've got an attitude problem! I blame the full moon. I always seem to be in a funny mood around full moon time. I've noticed that for a while. I might have to force myself to do something in a minute.

Wish someone would come and cook for me!

18 weeks today.

anniediv · 08/10/2006 12:16

Hello everyone. Not posted for a while, I can't keep up. I am no longer vomitting thanks to the ondansetron but am still feeling generally crap. Why? Why? Why? Why can't I be blooming and healthy? Why do I look pale and ill? So unfair. Bad news is that the horrible itchy PUPP is back with a vengeance.

I am really pleased to hear of all of you who are feeling great and of you who are managing to get out and about. I have been able to go in to work and am managing to keep being pg a secret still.

Still no sign of a bump although I can feel it if I lie on my back.

I think it's definitely a skinny little boy.....

anniediv · 08/10/2006 12:17

That last post sounded really moany, sorry! Just can't cope with the itching!!!!!

divastrop · 08/10/2006 12:26

Rosylily · 08/10/2006 12:41

Yeah me too. lets slag them.

kittywits · 08/10/2006 12:50

kittywits · 08/10/2006 12:59

Diva, I can't find that post, or anyone by that name, could you post a link?

fatfox · 08/10/2006 13:03

Kity, its called "Feeling depressed - I can't cope with DS1's behaviour anymore"

Too incompetent to try a link

Diva - keep your chin up, we're with you all the way on this one

fatfox · 08/10/2006 13:05

ps there's a really good discussion going on on "In the news: Is Jack Strw being a racist for asking muslim women to remove their veils"
