Whenever you?re on the phone, she said. Well if I do that at work I'll have the muscular saddle of a Bangkok ladyboy.

Piffle · 27/09/2006 19:13

LOL kitty is it is girl born with baggy tights then I'll know
It is dp's grannies name and she was a FABULOUS mad irishwoman...
one hell of a legacy to put on a newborn

AmieR · 27/09/2006 19:30

thats good news CazBodly!

wow.. antenatal classes already. I can't really remember much of what my midwife told me at the booking appointment as I was just flooded with info. But can anyone tell me if I need to get myself sorted with antenatal classes or will I get a friendly reminder? As I need all the help I can get with trying to remember things at the moment!

and.. do those name books really help any?

kittywits · 27/09/2006 19:37

Aimie, stumbled across #5 in a name book, Clara, I'd never used them before. Sometimes I think they are usful if you are stuck. check this name site out

kittywits · 27/09/2006 19:38

Sorry AMIE not aime !!

anniediv · 27/09/2006 19:42

On the subject of pelvic floors, after dd3 was born last year, I was referred (without my knowledge!) to the continence advisor because 1) dd3 was big 2) because she was my 3rd and 3) because of my AGE!! I was 34 at the time and !!!!

fatfox · 27/09/2006 20:05

Hi everyone - can't believe you all talk so much!

Wimmin - eh?

Caz - stay with us, we're the "fun" ante-natal thread, where you can discuss anything

Penny - ROFL at the Bangkok Ladyboys muscles joke I think that's what we should all aspire to...

Aime - welcome - nice to have you on board. My EDD is 26 Feb- 3 March, so quite near to your's,

Onilly - your GP obviously feels guilty doesn't he? Heh heh...good for you

Laidback - your Dad is a classic isn't he? I wonder if the earring was his idea or hers? Must be spooky to have a step Mum with the same age kids as you

Talking of spooky, I used to have out of the body exprieneces when I was about 8. Seriously!! You probably think I'm bonkers but its true. They were a progression of fits I had at night. Kittywits knows why I had the fits and won't go into it here - but the out of body bits were great fun and I was really upset when it stopped. Kind of floated above myself looking down at my body.

TBH I think lots of small children are so close to their own nature they pick up things we don't, in the same way that animals do. Then they lose it when they get older, which is sad.

Not really bonkers honest

I had a boy first and found it quite difficult to adjust to having a girl afterwards. They are both stereotypes - DS runs around all day "shooting people", wrestling, discussing monsters etc. DS tip toes around with a pink handbag and false wings, cooing "I'm soo pretty..." and loves all things pink and Barbie. I really didn't want it that way and planned to be a totally PC Mum, but their hormones have taken them both over!!

Sorry to hear about those still feeling sick - Annie

Leo - I bet its growing pains - you must have double the amount of growing to do as the rest of us

17+3

AmieR · 27/09/2006 20:06

thanks for the Link Kittywits!

and don't worry about the name typo... beleive me I've seen them all! I blame my Mother! she didn't easnt people to think she'd named me after Amy Turtle, an old crossroads or corrie character!

fatfox · 27/09/2006 20:10

Kitty - thanks for that link. I've got a longlist of names, from typing "Aboriginal names " into google, but too embarassed to divulge them here, though may well ask opinions (or for a vote) on some names closer the time
The internet is truly wonderful

divastrop · 27/09/2006 20:19

penny-ive been doing my PVE evry day without fail since i was pg with ds2(who is now 3)and im still having leakage problems with this pg.ive come to the conclusion that those muscles have now gone for good.

LMAO at kitty's mandolin lessons.what do you do all day with 5 children?!

ive never used a name book,ds1 ended up with Liam cos i was into oasis at the time, and megan's 2nd name is cerys after the lead singer of catatonia.ds2 was just very lucky that manchester city FC signed robbie fowler just before he was born...

my mum has slagged off all my childrens' names apart from megan cos its the welsh version of her name!i was looking at the top ten names lists a few years ago and at the top of the 1975 list were sarah and clare.my sis is called sarah(born in 1973)and im called clare(born in 1977).how very original of her!there were 5 other clares in my year at senior school, and 4 of us had big sisters called sarah.
this one will have to be called something that will really annoy her

anniediv · 27/09/2006 20:23

My dd1's middle name is Cerys too (dh is Welsh)

fatfox · 27/09/2006 20:24

Diva - my Mum was rude about both DS and DD's names but now loves them.

Mum's really know how to stick the knife in don't they..

Kitty - forgot about the mandolin lessons

Wot's your Mum on about anyway - A mandolin's a fruit isn't it?

kittywits · 27/09/2006 20:35

What I do all day is I spend far too much time on here, but I can't help it. I am aware that I have MN addiction problems. Perhaps learning the manderin would indeed ween me off MN

onilly · 27/09/2006 20:46

If only you guys knew how much I laugh at these posts - OMG, I am literally wiping the tears away as I type - HILARIOUS.
Top marks girlies....
Kitty - Mandolin - I mean, whats up with Mum, geez I thought my mum had her days - bless you are an angel and will go to heaven for not punching her lights out....
Penny - I will never be able to use the phone again without that vision...

DollyP - I dont envy you. DH and I have moved alot - our most recent move was being relocated back from the States to UK. Its taken me years to feel settled again, tho I love where we live and even though I did not particularly like living in the States. We did buy a fixer up-er (did I mention to you DH fancies himself as a raging Grand Designs developer?) We have been 'doing' this house up forever, and his most ambitious plans yet happily coincide with THE arrival ! I think I said earlier, I can see a series of Princess fits occuring fairly soon!
Take heart, your stuff and bits will make it feel like home, and seriously, any work you do does pay back.

Thanks everyone for hanging in there whilst I bored you all to tears with my screeing malarky. I just hope the results are fab and no more hassle. I am tired of being obsessed with it. Thanks for your support

Well, bath and bed awaits, good night all.

Piffle · 27/09/2006 20:49

What a giggle - a sure fire test for my pelvic floor Penny
Which for the record is holding up fine, although I am noticing the need to cross legs when sneezing
Now to the SNEEZING
is anyone else really sneezing LOADS
Driving me nuts

annaspanna · 27/09/2006 20:52

PMsL several times at everyone on this thread the last 2 days.!!! (Quite appropriately PMSL at the incontinence pelvic floor issues)
Thank heavens i found this thread. Feel really cheered up now.

DS is called Joseph - (dps middle name & my dads oldest brother who'd died recently) we call him Joe predictably. Struggled with his name & he didn't have one til 2 days after birth. I wanted Joby all the way thro but DP didn't like the fact it meant persecuted?sp which is fair enough i suppose.

I too am scared of having a girl. I' m not a girly girl in the slightest & it's stupid things like having to do a girls hair in the morning that puts me off. Scared to death of cleaning the bits properly at nappy changing. Resisted finding out the sex first time & I'm glad i did because i liked the surprise. That said i wanna know this time for the boring reason -do i keep DS clothes or do i ask SIL to pass down some female baby attire?

Got loads a girls names & no boys names again. I like daniel but my best friend called her boy that. I like Anna or ella for a girl. How does everyone feel about giving a child the same name as the parent?? It's a tradition in DPs family which i always thort was saft? But i do like my name weirdly. It is probably the only thing i like about myself tho!!!What with stupid curly hair that grows out not down, nails that NEVER grow no matter what remedy they invent next, silly little teeth and legs like a footballer!!!!! Hope to Goodness if it's a girl she gets her looks from anyone else but me!!!

annaspanna · 27/09/2006 20:53

Sorry I've got a useless memory an all!!

divastrop · 27/09/2006 20:55

kitty,i never went near the pc in the day untill i discovered this site, there was always too much to do and i envyed dp's time management skills cos he seemed to be on the pc all day but also cook tea, tidy up,play with the baby etc.he pointed out that even if theres nothng that needs doing i still 'create' things.that meant i was turning into my mother so thigs had to change

fatfox · 27/09/2006 20:55

Piffle - am sneezing loads too - must be increase in nasal mucous or something. Have to cross my legs each time

AmieR · 27/09/2006 20:57

I'm not sure whether I'm sneezing any more than usual, but noticing it more due to the fear of having a slight leakage. Coughing also scaring me at the moment! I'm ok if I'm alone but if at work or anything I'm like "oh no, please not now!" crosses legs

my worst nightmare is if I'm wearing my lightish grey combat type trousers.. everyone knows how that grey loves to turn really dark at even the slightest sniff with moisture!

fatfox · 27/09/2006 20:58

anna- I lurve curly hair - you lucky thing

Naming a son afer his father is pretty cool I think. Unless dad is called Gilbert or something...

divastrop · 27/09/2006 20:59

i can spell,i just can't type

anna-my dp was named after his father,he hates the name and evrybody calls him by his middle name!

anniediv · 27/09/2006 20:59

In the worst bit of hyperemesis last year I would vom so hard it would make me wee a bit . Trying telling anyone that in RL!!!

Piffle · 27/09/2006 21:00

And weight gain anyone
Has anyone not vomiting at all, not put any weight on at all?
I'm wondering if my little and often eating is not providing enough va va voom

fatfox · 27/09/2006 21:00

Aime - LOL at your damp trousers

I menstruated all over some cream coloured trousers at work once, just before I had to go to give a presentation to the Board. I washed them with cold water and was very grateful there was a hand drier in the loo. Marched into the conference room as though nothing had happend
