Finally got a date for my first scan this morning, 27th Aug.. makes it all seem more real Smile. Fingers crossed all is well, I've had no ms to speak of which always feels a bit worrying but as far as I'm aware not everyone suffers from it?
I was wondering about the hair dye thing too.. mine is in a right state!

M27J5M · 09/08/2014 14:31

I've been having a great wee unexpected day off work............till I go to work to pick up my wages, get home sort out bill money etc and put what's left in my purse, to be left confused as to why I only have £40 left, my idiot boss has MADE me take the day off but docked my wages! I'm ragin, she's getting to used to doing this, think it may be time to tell her where to shove her job!

eatscake it's all about survival, isn't it? We went to the park for four hours though, and he wandered around barefoot and in just a nappy so he was happy.

Glad to hear about the hair dye! I've bought some because the blasted bleach keeps showing through and I want to be my more natural dark brown. Hadn't even really thought about it.

fourmonths I don't think it has any bearing! People keep telling me I must be having a girl BECAUSE I'm so sick. I was more heartburny with DS, hardly any sickness. I think people just make random associations with what they had/did and conclude "Oh it MUST be a boy/girl!" Grin

ZebraZeebra · 09/08/2014 15:12

M27J5M that's totally not cool! I would be raging!!

eatscakefornoreasonwhatsoever · 09/08/2014 15:22

The nhs site also says girl is more likely to cause sickness.

And make sure you do a patch test before you dye

tannyLoo · 09/08/2014 15:23

I've had some kicks this morning! I felt them this early with my ds2, so recognise the feeling. It's wonderful!

eatscakefornoreasonwhatsoever · 09/08/2014 15:25

Sorry. Insert wry tone as appropriate. :)

eatscakefornoreasonwhatsoever · 09/08/2014 15:26

How far along are you tanny? i think I was about 16weeks before I felt them last time. Hope it's earlier this time. I heard it usually was sooner second time round so fx

ZebraZeebra · 09/08/2014 15:43

Tanny and have had some flutterings! I thought i must be going mad.

Great pic, ZebraZeebra - must be very exciting for you! In my first scan, there was a heartbeat, but I couldn't see it until it was pointed out to me.

My booking appointment isn't until the 19th, and my 12-week scan isn't until 8 September, almost a month away!!

ELA88 · 09/08/2014 16:30

Ohh, feel so sick! I was starving and ended up eating 5 cheese and onion pasty roll things! I just couldn't stop myself! Good job I didn't buy the 10 pack because I would probably have eaten them all! Oops!

ELA88 · 09/08/2014 16:48

I just had a thought, when you go for your 12 week scans are you DH / DPs going too? DH and I both work in the same school so I'm not sure he will be able to come with me :-S

Marama · 09/08/2014 16:56

Ela- mine is, but then, he's taking the day off to do it. He's not coming to my booking in appointment though.

ZebraZeebra · 09/08/2014 17:06

Dh came with DS but it's doubtful he'll be able to for this baby as they don't allow children in and we have no childcare. Not sure what you'd do if you actually had no one else to look after older children...

m33r · 09/08/2014 17:24

So lovely zeebra. Thanks!

fourmonthstogo · 09/08/2014 17:33

zebra I've been wondering that more when it comes to having the baby if you are truly on your own what do you do about any older siblings? For the scan, I think they discourage you from taking other children but can't/don't actually stop you.

M27J5M · 09/08/2014 17:37

Oh I'm defo ragin zebra, especially as I had stuff planned this week and now will have to cancel as the money I've got I'll need for everyday living and school etc, I'm back in on wed and will defo be speaking to her about it!

coastergirl · 09/08/2014 17:44

My hubby is coming with me to the scan. I really want him to be able to see.

NotAQueef · 09/08/2014 17:47

tanny i thought I felt some movement this week, but my rational brain says that I'm only 11 weeks today so telling myself it's wind!

NotAQueef · 09/08/2014 17:49

Can't wait for definite kicks and roly poly moves. I had an anterior placenta last time so was cushioned from a lot late on (though kept me awake enough)!

ELA88 · 09/08/2014 18:17

Sad doubt DH will be able to come, unless it's after school which I doubt! I had just assumed he would be there too!
