Ladylel - try prune juice. One of the most disgusting things known to man but it's high in iron too.

miraculous I wish there was something that could be said/ done to take even a fraction of the pain away but sadly we all know there's nothing that anyone can do right now. You and your boys fought so hard and life is so cruel and unfair to take them away. Hope you and your family are getting all the support possible right now to help you get through this. Sending love to you, your partner and your s

On my way to work this morning I collapsed on the bus, I'd felt a bit dizzy whilst waiting for it (nothing unusual for me as I do have slightly low blood pressure) the bus wasn't particularly busy or warm and I had a seat but about 10 minutes into the journey I just started feeling really hot and then the next thing I knew it was about 10 minutes later and I'd woken up just before my stop for work. I managed to get off the bus (very unsteadily) and into my building where I headed for the ladies and had to go to the loo immediately. Although fainting is nothing new for me I have never fainted whilst sat down before and never been out for that length of time. This was about 45 minutes ago and I feel ok now, should I be concerned or is it just one of those pregnancy things?

CatFaceCrayola · 04/08/2014 09:55

Mrs W that doesn't sound fun. Might be best just to go get it checked out . that's what I'd do anyway.

I have a rather upset stomach today (went to a friends for tea last night and ate a little too over-enthusiastically). Off for a family day out to Morecambe though. Wish me luck

chillychicken · 04/08/2014 10:28

Hello Peace!

Peaceloveandbiscuits · 04/08/2014 15:24

Whats I'm knowledgable about underactive thyroids but not so much overactive. Try me, though.

SassehMonsta · 04/08/2014 16:10

Afraid I know nothing about thyroids.

My boobs really hurt, stabbing pain in the right one today :( expressing colostrum as and when I can, but its not helping!

Was it already underactive before you got pregnant? If not then your reading is fine, if not then yeah less than 3 would be optimal, but you shouldn't really be having symptoms at that level. I had symptoms at TSH 17 until it was down to about 8, but then I felt a lot better. Get it checked again at two monthly intervals and if it's gone up, ask for more input.
Is that helpful? Hope I'm not too patronising >.

Miraculous so sorry to read your devastating news - there are no words but thinking of you and your family so much. Take care.

Peaceloveandbiscuits · 04/08/2014 19:54

Ah yeah most doctors would see less than 4 TSH levels as acceptable, but you can ask for a more in-depth test to check your T3 and T4 levels, for a more accurate look at what's going on.
When mine was 17 I was barely getting out of bed, I was that unwell with it, and they put me on 25mcg thyroxine, increasing every three months by 25mcg. By the time I got to 8 I was feeling better but still unable to lose weight - it wasn't until I got down to 3 that I was able to diet and see results! I had it checked when I was 4-5 weeks and it was about 2, which is amazing, but haven't had the results of my last test.
Good luck at the doctors. If you believe there's something going on, push for that other test. There's also a horrible test they do where they take a biopsy from your thyroid through your neck, which I managed to avoid. My mum had it done because her levels were fine, but she still felt she had a problem. I hope you avoid that!!!

SassehMonsta · 04/08/2014 20:39

Miraculous, will light a candle for each of your boys tomorrow evening. Hope you and your DH are getting all the support you need IRL. Flowers

monkeybaby2 · 04/08/2014 21:08
