Probably about 25 when they all arrive. A variety of brands/types so I can see what I like and what works. I'm a sucker for pretty patterns though so will likely end up with more than I need!

CatFaceCrayola · 16/08/2014 11:42

Ugh, stubborn Husband alert.

I should be happy that he's finally on the case, but he is refusing to wait until someone can come help him move wardrobes. "I can do it myself". He seems to be going about it in the least logical way possible.

I had to leave when he started emptying out my newly organised wardrobe (which wouldn't need to be moved if there were 2 people on the job!) I can't watch anymore. Sat downstairs listening to the bangs/thuds/swearing.

Catface I have to walk away from my DH when he gets like that. Let him sweat it out and don't get involved!

Ladylel · 16/08/2014 14:46

Just had a sort through of the baby haul I have accumulated. So many clothes and variations of new born/tiny baby/one month etc sorting it all out for what's to go in storage and what's going to be handy 'now' - next plan is to sort hospital bag this weekend as Tuesday is scan number 5 and need to be prepared!!

We went to Mothercare and found the car seat and base we need, £200 for both, woah now Shock there's one on Toys R Us in a different colour for £40 rather than £75 so that's an option.
I was shattered when we got back but next door have been hammering all bloody afternoon. They moved out this morning, so goodness knows what the hell is going on in there. Just STFU.

SassehMonsta · 16/08/2014 17:59

Having lots of pain and tightness in my belly. Cant work put if Braxton Hivks.as its ebbing and flowing and Im watching Dr Who. But tight arpund bottom half of bump.

SassehMonsta · 16/08/2014 21:47

Thinking they were, and probably caused by dehydration. Each "tightness" lasting 30-60 seconds, and uncomfortable when moving around. Had about 15 in total so far this evening, hoping that by drinking a little of water and walking around the house that they will go away! if this is preparation for labour, I think I want all the drugs please!

For those considering car seats and potentially wanting to go with the erf option may be worth buying the seat from birth rather than buying a baby carrier and then having to get another seat in 6-18 months time. The carriers are good as they clip onto the pram chassis and you can lift the baby into the house when still sleeping in the car seat. However, seats like the cybex sirona are suitable from birth and will do until 4 years old. We got the first stage car seat free with the pram but otherwise it would have been £250 inc isofix base. Luckily our daughter is little so it still fits at 18 months but we bought the cybex seat when she was about 14 months as it was in the sale at £275 (£375 normally). Th erf seats are pricy which puts people off but a stage 1 plus then purchase of a forward facing seat could amount to the same cost. I also liked the britax erf seats as one of them you can also swivel so that the baby faces you for getting the strapped in - much easier than leaning over, ESP if you have a bad back.

First aid courses are a good idea, thanks.

Yesterday was fun. Tried out the new tent, had a baked potato feast then beat DP and the Dsses at Trivial pursuit. My mum also sent me a lovely mobile for the baby bless her. Am still knackered. Bless Dp, hes got up with Dss2 to make me coffee. He worked yesterday so I should have let him stay in bed!

I managed to give DH a heart attack at 6.30 this morning. I woke up and looked at the clock and thought it was Monday and he shouldn't be in bed so woke him up oops. Poor DH then couldn't get back to sleep

Really must engage brain before waking him up in future

LotsaTuddles · 17/08/2014 10:14

We bought bunk beds yesterday as the bed guard we bought for DS' cot bed was to big and not very secure, so we bought bunk beds in preparation for the baby, because then they can share a room to begin with and then if they last that long we can separate into single beds.

So DS slept in his big boy bed last night and was a superstar (ignoring that fact that he didn't go to sleep until 10, but he was exploring so I'll let him off)

It's quite chilly here today, but I have to admit I'm loving it, was really struggling with the heat.

Peaceloveandbiscuits · 17/08/2014 12:11

Going out for a walk to escape the new neighbours' hammering :( they've got a yappy dog as well. Fucks sake. I knew this house would be too good to be true.

CatFaceCrayola · 17/08/2014 12:24

Yappy dog and hammering. Add in inconsiderate parking and sour faces and you have my neighbours.

my pregnant friend said I should watch "in the club" on iplayer. It was thoroughly depressing and did not make for good bedtime viewing last night.

Productive day today hopefully. Need to get stuff done, package up ebay things, run various errands and hopefully start packing for holiday on Weds

24 weeks today :)

BigHairyLeggedSpider · 17/08/2014 12:39

Just got back from swimming with the Dsses. Absolutely knackered and starving. Inhaled a cheese and onion roll then a CoOp chocolate cookie. Now laying down with a cuppa. Next week I have two audits and i am packing to go camping in deepest darkest Cornwall from Sat. Grin

I've been watching back episodes of One Born on 4OD. Key learning points: A. childbirth lacks dignity, but the people are respectful. B. Every baby comes out one way or another in the end. C. Birth partner is important. They need to be able to translate your grunts to the midwife. D. The chap who sits around in the break area eating biscuits and grumbling about the staff-room dishwasher is probably the anaesthetist (pointed out last bit with glee to DP who is of that ilk). E. Take the drugs if you want them.

Peaceloveandbiscuits · 17/08/2014 13:25

I watched In The Club but it was too sugary for me.

SassehMonsta · 17/08/2014 13:42

I gave in the club 5 mins to capture my attention. It didn't, so I downloaded the Dr Who 50th anniversary episode onto my kindle and watched that instead.

Been awake since 6am.... done nothing!! But, DH has now got up, had a bath and is hoovering the stairs and landing. Brilliant!!

I'm suffering from heart burn/acid reflux for the first time. I've had it occasionally in first trimester, but today it's been am almost constant. Gaviscon texture is vile, so about to attempt a chewable tablet version... wish me luck!!
