I got this chair 2nd hand and in excellent condition. OH said he didn't want it and he did get rid of his out of tune and rusty and broken piano and his never ever used it either radiogram to make room. It is so so comfortable and you can rock slightly in it.

Spent about £60 in New Look today on sale price maternity clothes and basically got a new wardrobe. I know I'm cutting it fine but hoping I'm tempting sod's law and I won't quite get 7 weeks more wear out of them (2 will be fine as that's 37 weeks).

I have walked a lot for the last two days doing chores and shopping. Lots of lightening pains and BH. Hope others who are suffering have some more comfortable times ahead soon.

Sorry to those of you with OHs having work worries =( Timing can be so unfair. Really hope all works out ok Thanks.

HaveYouTriedARewardChart · 01/08/2014 22:38

Nazly a lot of the time I seem to be having a constant BH. Makes it very difficult to walk, eat or breathe! Movement does trigger it - yours or the baby's - but I also find dehydration makes it worse.

cookielove · 01/08/2014 23:35

Finally got out of hospital at 10pm. Baby is fine, although I am still in pain but its fine. Lo finally started moving about 1hr after we got there.

ilovemonstersInc · 02/08/2014 07:58

Glad your both ok cookie. A warm bath and hot water bottle may help with pain as will paracetamol x

Ella I had a sweep with ds2 and that didnr set me off straight away but cant remember what day I had it and then I was booked in for induction at term and by time I got a bed I was already contracting regular so all they did was break waters. I'm sure sweep was day or so before induction.

Naz how are you feeling

topmammy · 02/08/2014 09:13

Well I have been woken up this morning by a stomach ache and mad dash to the loo! I hope I haven't got a bug or something Confused

I think I will wash some more baby clothes today too :) Got a really nice blanket from a website called Huddle & Bliss, all organic cotton and all that jazz.

bugoven · 02/08/2014 09:43

Meant to include this pic with my last post. Baby brain!

Glad everyone is ok and sounds like we're all in nesting mode =) Off to pack mine and babybug's hospital bags now I have finally washed all my baby things - 5 loads including bedding etc. Friends have been so generous I won't need to buy anything for at least a few months unless baby is huuuuge.

Yup top smothered in chocolate spread ahhhh mmmmmm oooooooh Grin Its for the freezer though....

Lots of talk of 'clearing out' I had this since 20 weeks, the mw & consultant are not bothered I figured its better than piles and constipation haha.

I love organic cotton and bamboo- amazing stuff and yes I can tell the difference when wearing it. Zara sell organic cotton tshirt they are fab.

whiteblossom · 02/08/2014 10:00

sorry had to cut that short, DH looking over my shoulder! Yeah the organic cotton is more breathable and I find wicks away sweat. lovely stuff.

I might just have to make sure that the banana bread is worthy of freezing first and have a taste...used a new recipe. Grin

Is anyone thinking of using/hiring a TENS machine? Or has anyone used one previously? I think I'd like to try it for the early stages of labour, but I know pretty much nothing about them. Thanks!

ilovemonstersInc · 02/08/2014 10:25

Blossom sounds nice!

Team Ive never used one so cant say sorry

im knackered today. Just managed to do kitchen and sitting room. Will try and gather some energy for the bathroom. Bedrooms are done too so ita bathroom, iironing and washing to do

Team, I used a TENS with my first, I found it an irritation and ripped it off! Some people think they are great though so worth a try.

Ive been listening to my hypno cd, getting into the relaxation zone.

ILOVE don't overdo it, save some energy and put your feet up too.

ilovemonstersInc · 02/08/2014 11:19

Bathroom done. Kids are playing. Will wait for dh to get in before I put more washing on.
Blossom I hate when it gets on top of me. Ive normally got all done by now but its dh day off so we have a lie in(almost) and rather rthan rush through getting everything done so I can go to mums I stay home and slowly carry on cleaning

Ella the cot frame would be ok after a antibac wipe, would get new mattress though.

just made big fat double chocolate muffins with ds. They. are. amazing!

lilone1234 · 02/08/2014 16:00

ilove hope your little one gives you some more kicks, make sure you put your feet up!

I finally started packing my hospital bag today - i've got a towel, dressing gown, slippers, PJs, change of clothes, nursing bra, big knickers, socks, maternity pads, breast pads, toiletries, camera. Just need to put in the couple of nursing nighties i've ordered from Mothercare when they turn up. Made myself a note to remember to put in my toothbrush and phone charger when the time comes. I've got some snacks ready too. Anything i've forgotten? I've put it one pack of maternity pads (they're huge) which has 10 in...should that be enough?

I'm going to do baby's bag separately in the changing bag (also waiting for this to arrive from mothercare) and need to wash the bits first. Thinking I need a couple of vests, sleepsuits and hats and some scratch mittens then some nappies, wipes, cotton wool balls, nappy sacks and a blanket and some muslins. Anything else? I am planning to breastfeed so wasn't going to take any bottles as think there would be time for DP to go and get these if needed as they would need to be sterilised anyway - if something happens and I can't bf.

I'm such an overpacker - i'm going to look like i'm turning up for a 2 week holiday!

DP is building cot bed today. Has done one side so far and is now watching tv...

His parents are coming tomorrow and we are going to buy the pram and car seat finally so I desperately need to clean the bathroom!

whiteblossom · 02/08/2014 16:10

lilone my hospital recommends taking 25 pads so Ive packed three packs of ten- bulky but would hate to run out! It all depends how long your in hospital and how far home/shop is if you needed more.

ilovemonstersInc · 02/08/2014 16:36

Ive packed around 5 packs Blush but I bleed heavily and might be in a few days. I have 1 small suitcase packed for me and 1 big holdall for baby.

Thank you lilone. Hes moving a bit more now but more like hes pushing down

I really need to get motivated to pack my bag, I guess because I have a date, I'm not even considering the possibility of going into labour earlier (and naturally!) which actually is a bit daft really. I also need to get on and sort baby clothes/bedding etc, but to be honest I don't seem to be able to get all my 'regular' chores done, let alone fitting in a whole other set. Although DH and I did start to sort the garage a bit today, so a whole load of rubbish has now gone, and I've been selling some stuff on eBay too, hopefully sofa bed is being picked up on mon, so I can then sort the bigger room for the girls to share, and then start on turning the little room into guest/escape/baby room, and actually have space to sort stuff out.

lilone1234 · 02/08/2014 18:44

Wow! I'll stick another pack of maternity pads in then. I bought 3 packs, and still have some normal sanitary towels (night time ones seem quite similar to maternity ones) so hopefully that will do to begin with! Thanks for the advice ladies!

I have pulled a muscle in my groin (too much over zealous cleaning!) and now i'm struggling to walk. Silly me!

cookielove · 02/08/2014 19:57

Ok you ladies have given me the push i need to get my hospital bag sorted, we started on organising the flat for when the baby comes we made a real difference and it feels like most of the work is done!

I was just gonna use a rucksack but maybe i need something more substantial for the hospital "bag"
