oh go on kitkat tell us about your near falling off the chair glory moment. I could do with cheering up Grin

By the way I was out with my dm yesterday showing her the uppababyvista and a lady walked past us in the shop and said "buy it" (she was pushing her 10m old in it) and I said I already did hehe and she said it was the best thing ever a little on the big and heavy side but well worth it- I was pleased she had said this not only because I have bought it but my mum gasped at the size of it and the wheels...I think she wanted me to have something shiny and lovely (silver cross) but I need practical!

Sorry to hear of your DHs' job problems white and red. Life's a pain in the arse sometime but I'm sure you'll get through it :)

I'm having a bit of a down day today myself but not for a good reason like white and red so I know I'm being silly really. Just had a disagreement with DH about getting this nursing chair: www.mothercare.com/Tutti-Bambini-Deluxe-Reclinable-Glider-Chair-and-Stool---White/219549,default,pd.html#q=nursing%20chair

Hubby thinks it's too expensive for something that will only be used for a short time but I think I'll be so uncomfortable sitting on the bed feeding in the night, or it will be asking for an accident if I have to go up and down the stairs numerous times a night to get to the sofa. We don't have lots of room which is DHs other reason against but I'm sure we can fit one in the box room at least. But now me and DH are a bit pissed off with each other and there's a bit of a stalemate. I don't really want to go ahead and buy one if he doesn't agree, despite being totally within my rights as I work and earn money too. And It's ok for him to spend a few hundred pounds on a drum kit but not ok for me to buy a nursing chair? Angry. He is a good hubby so I feel a bit bad for moaning like this but I do feel like there's some double standards going on here. Might be pregnancy hormones making me unreasonable, I don't know. Now just feel deflated and generally emotional :(.

Sorry that was a rather long rant!

lilone1234 · 01/08/2014 13:59

kitkat I also want to hear about nearly falling off the chair! Wow what a strict nursery - £25 if 5 mins late! I suppose otherwise there would be some people that were always taking the mick but still. It just amazes me that it all has to be done so far in advance!

white Wow, she's so inconsiderate to have left like that, obviously he was thinking the best of her to have let her reject the longer contract - and knowing how it would effect you both to go ahead and do it anyway!

With us, it was not so much of a discussion rather than him stating he was going to leave his job - he was really unhappy there so I wouldn't have wanted him to stay but if it was me I would have waited it out until I found something else, which is always what I told him. I think he thought he would find it easier to find a new job than he did - he started a new job before this one and quit after only 2 weeks! At least he's moving straight across to something now - just hoping he will stay put for the whole 6 months!

lilone1234 · 01/08/2014 14:06

top I think you should get it if you think it will be useful - it isn't your DH that is going to have to spend his nights nursing! I have got one and we already use it - it's really comfortable and is a lot easier for me to sit on than the sofa now so I think you will get your money's worth! It is something I said I wanted from day one and my mum was in agreement that it would be useful - are there any other women in the family that could preach the benefits to him for you?

This is my one: www.kiddicare.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/productdisplay0_10751_-1_16199_10001 - ever so slightly cheaper too but looks very similar!

ella I'm sorry you were having bad dreams about labour! I've never done it before so can't relate to how your previous experiences will be affecting you now - but fingers crossed everything will be okay!

whiteblossom · 01/08/2014 15:05

top I had a gliding nursing chair and stool with my first and both dh and I hammered it. Very comfy, perfect position- and I had a very bad bad after ds. The rocking is very soothing for you and baby. We used it for about three years and decided we didn't need it anymore, I paid about £100 ish. The only reason I wouldn't buy it again is that I felt ds became reliant upon motion to go to sleep, so whenever I put him down in the cot he woke right up (rod for my own back). I have since read that you should put baby in cot while still awake- just, so they aren't startled by the change. I would say buy it, its worth the money and they sell 2nd hand in shot!

DH's employee is going to work for a client so dh not happy, has not had chance to have formal chat with her so will have to wait until next week to find out whats going on. It pissed me off that dh trained her up and now she is buggering off to a client! Dh dosen't seam arsed about losing her, as I said to him yesterday- he can do better, her heart has never been in it so Im surprised she is off to do the same thing!

Nazly · 01/08/2014 16:08

Ladies just logged in here in the middle of the working day to ask a quick question that is making me worried: is it normal that my bump becomes rock hard so many times during the day? Tried to search but didn't find much in rush...
I am 35+4 by the way...

ilovemonstersInc · 01/08/2014 16:14

Naz that sounds like braxton hicks they make bump go hard. Contractions are like that but lots more painful

top that's the one mum has at hers. Her youngest is 18month old and its still used to this day! Everyone uses it as its so comfy. Her ds didn't have problem on being reliant on being rocked to sleep.

Its really comfortable! !
Its a good investment imo. Show him this post lol.
We have the browny colour.

Nazly · 01/08/2014 17:40

Thanks Ilove, so this is BH; how many of them should I get in a day ; it doesn't feel very normal, My bump is hardly soft any more, just almost constantly like a rock

Nazly · 01/08/2014 18:06

I just read this : www.mumsnet.com/pregnancy/labour-and-birth/braxton-hicks
It says if they are less than 12 min apart then refer to dr?!? Mine are far less than 12 min apart! It also says being active could be trigger- well I am still working at nearly 36 and will be for another two weeks and work is extremely busy, although my work is not physical... Should I be concerned and to dr? How is everybody else feeling? Do you have as many BH ladies?

Still working on hubby but he has now suggested a tub chair so things are moving in the right direction! He will come to the correct decision soon I'm sure :) lol

Hope you're ok nazly I'm sure if it's BH you don't need to worry. I've not had BH myself though. My bump feels hard sometimes too but generally after I've eaten as I guess there just isn't much room for my stomach too now.

Lovely bump pic white !

Sorry for TMI but I've just been to the loo with stomach ache and had a bit of a clear out... same thing happened this morning too but just with less stomach ache, reminds me of IBS symptoms actually. Stomach still feels a bit delicate and I just feel generally tired and off. Hope my body is not gearing up for labour just yet Confused!

I'm 36w+3 now Ella Still a tad too early to have baby for my liking though! I feel a bit odd down there but have not had any other symptoms so I'm not too worried.

ilovemonstersInc · 01/08/2014 19:30

Naz time them and ring your mw. Are they painful or just uncomfortable?

We will all be at it soon questioning whether symptoms are labour or not.

Naz ive never heard of the 12min thing though but do time them. Bh are practice contractions and when they become painful it means they are real contractions

OP posts:
ilovemonstersInc · 01/08/2014 19:32

And to those experiencing all these weird feelings (Tightenings, pains, clear outs, pain down there etc)I had it for weeks :( absolutely takes the piss.

OP posts:
ilovemonstersInc · 01/08/2014 19:34

Ps just because ive had them for weeks Please dont think everyone is ok if they have them. I have problema dilating etc so dont labour fast everyone else should seek medical advice when they are worried

top that could also be called 'lightening' when baby dropa further into pelvis

topmammy · 01/08/2014 19:47

Thanks boo and ilove. Dh is self employeed and out of everyone she is the only one that can take over his bit- he heads up different area of business. The cow knows he was taking sep off and why. Dh wont find anyone quickly, theres no chance of a replacement. Most people have at least one month notice and if their any good three months notice. A had a bit of a cry in the shower but ive more brewing.
Red thats what I thought perfect timing. Fx yr dh is safe.

Amyway heres the cake bump 34+6 o think!
