Congratulations Tea!

Ilove - hoping breaking ur waters makes things speed up.

Last night top half of my bump was really tender to touch and kept having slight pains. Thankfully gone away now. Dh was like I'm sure it's nothing - he really wants baby to come in Sept, although at the rate babies r popping out on here, anything can happen.. I did think maybe baby had moved to correct position as bump felt really hard across, but this morning baby is back to being on its right side, kicking away. I suppose more time on all fours, although I believe baby is going to b stubborn and not move!

whiteblossom · 19/08/2014 10:00

Bug fantastic news, congrats Grin details please...
Kitkat Ive resorted to saying "anyday now" and most respond by saying "oh its sooo tiring at the end isn't it..."
tea congrats on Emma, all these little babies, mines gonna be a chunka!
I had a mad panic the other day that I didn't have enough babygrows so went out and bought a load but I cant get them out the packet to wash because I suspect this baby is BIG so will end up taking them back and swapping sizes! Grin

yup bring on the birth stories..

whiteblossom · 19/08/2014 10:06

Sorry I love, I hope breaking your waters gets things going for you!
Ive tried pineapple juice (not sure if as good as actual pineapple but I cant stand the stuff!) Sex not working either as for walking....
I love curry but I worry that if I went into labour that er things that might appear in the birthing pool might have an aroma...if you catch my drift (oh dear!)
I read about a lady who had a strong chilli the night before the birth and the MW had commented on the kidney beans in the floater...[oh the mortification]

KitKat1985 · 19/08/2014 10:31

Ahh, another baby! Congrats to teabiscuits on the birth of Emma! Beautiful name. xx

Ilove I really truly hope baby arrives today for you. I'm really surprised that the hospital has let it drag on this long for you. I think you would be well within your rights to start complaining to some managers etc and see if you can get things sorted. xx

KitKat1985 · 19/08/2014 10:38

Oh, and am currently awaiting the health visitor who is supposed to be here at 11am for some sort of pre-baby meeting. I'm hoping she's not late as I need to start getting ready for work at 12.20 today at the latest. Has also meant that I have spent quite a lot of the past couple of days trying to make the house look vaguely presentable! x

topmammy · 19/08/2014 10:43

Huge congrats Bug and tea Grin Fantastic news!

Sorry I haven't posted much. Looking after a newborn definitely keeps you busy. I've just fed her, she's snoozing on my chest now and has just this second trumped and then pooped. Lol Grin. She is a right good trumper for something that looks so sweet! Hehe. Will try and pop back later with my birth story, finally. Off I go now though to deal with this poonami.

Teabiscuits · 19/08/2014 12:53

Emma has just been checked over by paediatrician who is happy with her. Currently asleep on the boob! (Will have to give her a prod in a min, she's so weeny I need to feed her up) But for now I have a moment so here goes.

It was all pretty quick really. The doctor decided that as this was number 4 the pessary would be a waste of time, so gave me a dose of hormone gel at 12.

6 o'clock I was looking much the same, but cervix was open enough to have waters broken by the doctor (unpleasant but not too bad). By 10.30 I was having strong contractions but had only dilated to 2 cm, so at 11.30 they started the hormone drip. Contractions got so intense I overdosed on gas and air to the point that I had cramp in my hands so badly DH and MW had to take one hand each and pry my fingernails out of my palms to stop me drawing blood! Gas and air side effect I have never had before Hmm .
Roll forward about an hour, I suddenly reached the point of madness, shouted for an epidural, then MW felt me go from 6 cm to fully dilated in 1 contraction Shock . One massive push later she arrived!
And of course the anaesthetist never made it, which I was definitely glad of after!

I'm now certain we made the right choice to induce when we did. Placenta didn't look entirely normal and the cord was around her neck as I suspected (had reduced movements for nearly a week, same as DS but always had a good trace)

Emma is a bit mucous, but doing just fine all things considered.

Thank you for all the congrats, now I can just sit back and wait for the rest of them to arrive!

Surely it's got to be you next ilove. Thinking of you today X

cookielove · 19/08/2014 14:20

Congratulations tea and bug

We really wanted Elijah to be born in September, but it wasn't to be. I am shocked still he came so early

lilone1234 · 19/08/2014 15:38

How are you and Elijah doing cookie?

TeamEponine · 19/08/2014 16:30

Had another scan today and baby is still breech Hmm. Back again next week for yet another scan to see if she has decided to turn, but I'm starting to resign myself to her not turning and ending up going for the ELCS.

holls2000 · 19/08/2014 16:46

Had scan today - still breech and c section booked for 18 sept. Now it feels real. Have been a bit weepy about it.
Back to work on Thursday and then in full time from tues but meant to be finishing on 12th, think that maybe will have to change. Have spent the pm sleeping so not sure how good my teaching will be next week!!
Am I the only person who feels terribly nervous?

Ilove hope you are getting on well.

Tea - wow 6cm to fully dilated?!? Impressive!

lilone1234 · 19/08/2014 16:53

Sorry you are both still breech team and holls! Must be very frustrating to know you are likely to have to have a C section when it is not what you had planned, but I suppose at least you can start to prepare for that?

This thread is nearly full so I started another: www.mumsnet.com/Talk/antenatal_clubs/2163346-September-2014-Babies-are-starting-to-make-an-appearance

It's about the only marginally productive thing i've done all day!

cookielove · 19/08/2014 16:54

We are doing ok, they said Elijah could come home on Friday, that is scary close! He is getting better with the breast feeding. But today he wouldn't let me put him down!

LH1981 · 21/08/2014 07:52

Haven't had a chance to catch up and read through - good luck to those waiting for labour and huge congrats to those ladies who are safely on the other side Smile

I'm after a bit of advice. I'm 35+4 weeks and have been experiencing contractions for weeks (had severe BH since about 23 weeks). Been admitted to hospital 3 times but contractions have stopped on their own.

The contractions are back. Since 4:30pm yesterday afternoon, and through the night. They are quite intense at times but definitely not consistent. I didn't sleep a wink last night. DH has stayed home this morning to see what happens but the problem is, we have two DSs who I need to organise childcare for - all my usual go-to's are away today (the ONE day that is highly inconvenient). Could this be real labour even though it's not regular? Should I send hubby to work? Arghh, being my third you'd think I'd be an expert by now but this pregnancy has been a completely different kettle of fish!

Grateful for any advice xx

bugoven · 22/08/2014 03:55

Hi ladies. I haven't forgotten you I promise but I have still not left hospital with Baby Boy Bug who we have decided will be called Dexter. So much to share but going to try and sleep as I have only had approx. 8 hours since Saturday when I went in for induction! X

bugoven · 22/08/2014 03:57
