whiteblossom · 30/07/2014 17:16

we all seam to be about size at the moment don't we Grin

Where are we on the chart what centile, what will baby weigh...I guess we are at that stage.

Bug are you retaining fluid? Sounds uncomfortable.

karigan has anyone advised what you can do to encourage baby to turn? perhaps bouncing on ball, on all fours??

whiteblossom · 30/07/2014 17:27

Oh and Ive started snoring- I realised last night when I actually woke myself up with my OWN snoring!! I mentioned it to DH in humour and he replied "yes it was particularly bad last night"

opps Blush...its not like I can help it!

CumbrianExile · 30/07/2014 17:56

Haha White. I noticed I have started dribbling excessively! I had a lovely damp pillow this morning!

Does anyone elses bump seem 'heavier'. Mine feels heavy, as if its pushing down...maybe its baby moving down?

ilovemonstersInc · 30/07/2014 18:06

Not happy.
This baby will be a hard one.
I dont dilate so im 2 weeks get a sweep as theres no change today so she didn't want to risk doing too many procedures and risk c section.

I think the only thing is hes -3. Dunnoo what that means.
She doesn't think I will go 2 weeks though.

Babys measuring 40+5 weeks and im 35+5 today.

Not happy at all but as I have such a bad time in labour they dont want to chance anything else going wrong so I didnt push it.
Obv if it gets too much go triage Hmm

white I'm snoring a bit too. But even worse I'm drooling too, urgh!!

Got 36w MW appointment tomorrow. I'm hoping baby is still head down and I'm measuring ok!

Picked up my crib and Moses basket today Grin Hubby has put the crib up already, good husband lol. Tried putting the isofix base and car seat in the car and it took us an age to figure out how to remove the bloomin' car seat from the base lol Blush

BexBoo12 · 30/07/2014 18:32

Hi everyone, can I rejoin? Hope nobody minds me coming back after not posting for such a long time, work was just too busy and I couldn't keep up with the posts. I've finished work now though yay! So have lots more time to post on here and keep up to date.

I'm 34+3 today, with baby's head fully engaged already!! Is that normal? Xx

Topsyloulou · 30/07/2014 18:35

Ilove you must be feeling a bit mixed after the appointment. Baby is obviously not in any rush to come out tho, just giving you a hard time bless you.

Cumbrian my bump is definitely moving down & feeling a lot heavier. Walking is starting to take a lot more effort. Put my favourite maternity work trousers on today & they are now tight round the bottom of the bump whereas before they'd been really baggy as bump was so high. It's all starting to feel very real!

bugoven · 30/07/2014 20:12

white yes I am retaining fluid and in a big way! It is so so uncomfortable and hopefully not an indication of anything other than hot weather and hormones. Also I had to use an app with videos to view the hospital as they don't do tours any more but it is fairly new and looks good. Sorry yours looks shabby, hope you get the nice room =)

team I keep feeling like that too. 5 weeks is either really long to wait or very very soon from one hour to the next. Eeeek!

ilove my baby is around 7lb today at 34+3 according to my growth chart.

Welcome back bex. Fully engaged? My MW said this tends to happen around 36 weeks for first time mums and they stay there until delivery but for subsequent babies they move in and out of pelvis.

bugoven · 30/07/2014 20:16

bex Sorry meant to say I'm sure it varies and please don't worry. MW would have said if there was anything to worry about and everyone and every pregnancy is different. I'm 34+3 today too =)

karigan · 30/07/2014 20:16

The consultant said they wouldnt worry until 36 weeks and of she hadnt turned by then they would discuss options with me.

Is bouncing on a ball recommended? ( Argos ahoy!)

RedToothBrush · 30/07/2014 20:31

Bug, I've got a pretty bad water retention problem. I mentioned it to my midwife last week and she just said to put my feet up as much as possible - all my tests were negative - and I haven't had any other symptoms, but I really should mention it at my appointment again next week as its been so bad over the last week. It might explain my ridiculous weight gain too.

I've had my feet up for two days as on Monday after being on my feet for a couple of hours they had swelled so much (they have been a lot lately, but this was the worst it has been). If I haven't been on my feet, I can get my shoes on... but its next to impossible if I have. And I have to keep them on until I get home if I do wear them and they are painful to wear.

My Mum told me it was the only thing that she suffered really badly from during her pregnancy too, so I'm not overly worried, just frustrated.

That said, I got a letter from hospital about my second blood test last week. Midwife said she would chase up the results as it was so difficult time chasing them directly with the hospital the first time. She called yesterday and said there was no problem with the second result and she didn't know why they sent me the letter! However today I've had a missed called from GP surgery. And I have no idea why they would call. There is no reason why they should.

bugoven · 30/07/2014 20:48

ilove I found a few diagrams like this about baby's head engaging. May explain your -3.

red I'm not too worried either it just is quite severe, pitting and causing pain/numbness/carpel tunnel syndrome. Definitely all going to be worth it!!!

bugoven · 30/07/2014 20:50

Sorry - will actually add pic now!!

September 2014- will there be any babies yet??
holls2000 · 30/07/2014 21:05

Been away for a few days - tried to have a quick catch up but will have missed loads, so apologies.
Do any of you get sore left ribs - front and buck - towards the end of the day? Also I sometimes get stretchy burning ouchy hurting under left boob in the morning. Mentioned to mw who didn't say much!
V sleepy now and need a nap in the afternoon, thank god for holidays! Also started snoring. Hmmm pregnancy so sexy.

ilovemonstersInc · 30/07/2014 21:37

Thank you for the pic! Very helpful.

Bug is that your chart that they do by fundal height? Theyve stopped doing mine as at 1 point he was measuring nearly 11weeks ahead Hmm so this is whatthey have got from growth scans.
He's head down, bum and back on right hand side and limbs on left iyswim.

BexBoo12 · 30/07/2014 22:32

Thanks bug, glad to be back amongst all the lovely baby talk Wink yes he seas fully engaged last week when I was only 33 weeks!! She was surprised but didn't say there was anything to worry about, nor did she say this would mean he will come early, but she did tell me to get my hospital bag ready before appointment next week Shock

How is everyone else and they bumps doing? Hope the heat is being kind to you all. Anyone else suffering from insomnia? Xx

bugoven · 30/07/2014 22:56

ilove I have followed the same curve since 28 weeks and at 31 weeks a doctor gave me a scan as my MW was on leave and he happens to have a scanner in his room. Based on those measurements baby was just under 5lb. It's all estimates. A friend of mine had a detailed growth scan the day before her 2nd baby was born by ELCS which was more than 2lb out. I just get excited and reassured thinking he is pink and chubby enough to be ok if he came now for some reason =)

Read my notes last night and bp has always been om the lower side and yesterday it was slightly higher still within normal and I had protein +2. Hoping I domt bloody get anything else this pregnancy!

ilovemonstersInc · 31/07/2014 07:16

Ella my mum used to suffer with piles and the drs would ask to see them
my dad turned around and once said while they were checking 'no one knows my wife by her face only by her arse and other bits' Grin Shock and Blush! She had a complicated pregnancy so was always being checked.

Holls yes I have horrible rib pain by the end of the day (worse in the week so I think it's to do with sitting down). Gets to the point where I have to lay on he sofa in the evening cause I can't get comfy however I sit. I shouldn't moan really as that and seeming to have lost the ability to sleep (With you on that one bug Sad I'm not uncomfortable at night, just can't switch off) are my only aches and pains ATM - but I'm a way behind most of you at 32 weeks so sure it will catch up with me soon. My arm hurt for 3 days after the whooping cough jab, couldn't lift it up very well at all, but I don't help myself by lugging stuff about at the stables so probably made it worse for myself.

Moving house tomorrow finally, so will be able to build our nursery furniture and get baby's room sorted finally. All the baby stuff is just packed up in boxes at the moment so will be nice to get it all ready Smile

KatharineClover · 31/07/2014 07:41

Expressing antenatally can bring on contractions, it is not usually recommended until baby is term. It might be suggested for diabetic mums or planned c sections (eg twins). It is done by hand, not pump as the amount you get is tiny until your milk comes in (3-5 days after birth) and would be lost inside a pump - basically you need someone waiting with a syringe to suck up each drop as it appears! You can then freeze the syringes (usually 1ml or 5ml I believe). Expressing early will not bring your milk in earlier, as that is dependent on baby sucking / hormone surge post birth. The kellymom website has loads of helpful info, and I found this resource for diabetic mums www.swbh.nhs.uk/wp-content/uploads/2012/06/Expressing-your-milk-antenatally.pdf
