Good luck cookie! Can't believe that everytime I seem to check in at the moment someone else seems to have gone into labour! Thinking of all of you ladies in labour! Making me nervous now! Hopefully I've got a bit longer as I'm only 35 weeks! x

Glad to hear that Ilove.

Its bad that they didn't take you seriously after all the problems you have. It frustrates me that there is a need to be assertive if you are really that uncomfortable/concerned about an issue.

topmammy · 13/08/2014 18:02

Well done ilove good for you. Hopefully you might start on your own though! Best of luck cookie! And hope we hear from nazly soon. hope i havent missed anyone out!

Im still in hospital but Jessica is out of the light box now yay! Got to stay the night (5th night now!) so she can have another heel prick blood test to check the levels of bilirubin that caused the jaundice have stayed down and then hopefully we shall we going home tomorrow morning, fingers crossed!

Cindy5389 · 13/08/2014 18:32

Good luck to everyone in labour! Things r really kicking off now..

Top - glad Jessica is off of the light box. Out of interest, did u delay cord clamping causing the jaundice, or was it due to other factors? Still haven't decided what to do re cord clamping.

Ilove glad u finally got some sort of result at the hospital, even tho they should have induced u ASAP especially after everything u have been through and the fact baby is full term.

Thank you everyone

top Jessica is beautiful! Glad shes off the light now and hope you get to go home soon! Hows bf going?

Ella I was induced with ds2. Ds1 labour progressed really slowly. Would be nice if the sweep worked. But will see. If I was an extra cm I would be in delivery lol!

Well done Ilove, glad you got at least somewhere with them.

top pleased you and Jessica are doing well, my eldest needed the light treatment for jaundice, cleared up just fine in a few days.

good luck cookie!

ella I'm being induced early as I had a serious abruption (placenta came away too early) in my last pregnancy at 40 weeks. That coupled with slow growth means they are taking action. I'm second guessing whether I have made the right choice, as they would have left me to 38 weeks but have had less movements as well recently and my gut tells me it's the right thing. Hope I'm right...

TheOnlySeven · 13/08/2014 19:55

ilove well done for being assertive and making them listen.

top glad Jessica is doing better now, I still can't believe how beautiful she is.

cookie good luck, sounds like you'll be the owner of our next arrival!

I'm 35 weeks today and never made it to 36 before, feeling a lot of low pressure this afternoon.

BexBoo12 · 13/08/2014 20:00

Good luck ilove and cookie!! So exciting, everytime I come on here there's a new baby on the way!! Keep us posted and good luck to you both xx

Top, so glad Jessica is doing well!! Fingers crossed you get home tomorrow and can settle into family life. Can't wait to hear the first birth story Grin x

Tea I may have missed it but what day are you being induced? Another baby soon to be on the way!! Hope you're feeling ok about it x

cindy Jessica's cord was clamped and cut pretty much straight away i think due to her heartbeat getting a bit fast at the end of labour. I did put in my birth notes that i wanted to wait 3 mins but thats just the way it happened :) Not sure how it affects jaundice tbh. i think jaundice is pretty common.

Bf is going well thanks ilove have got the hang of it now i think. Stings like hell the first few sucks but then its lovely :)

Hope everyone is doing ok! Looking forward to more little arrivals soon!

Teabiscuits · 13/08/2014 20:53

Thanks ella The concern is no one really understands abruptions or knows why they happen. It could have been a freak chance and won't happen again, or it could be that it would happen with me every time.

bex I'm being induced on Monday

TeamEponine · 13/08/2014 22:06

Dinah I'm in the same position. I think I've decided to say no to the turning if she's still not turned by then. I've decided no after doing lots of reading about it though. The success rate seems to be around 50%, but lower for first time mums (which I am) and if baby is frank breech rather than other types of breech (and she is frank breech). But my main reason is that I have an anterior placenta, and that carries a risk of detached placenta and then emcs. So the three things combined mean I'm likely to say no to the turning and go straight for an elcs. I'm still hoping that she will turn soon, and am doing all manner of crazy things to get her to cooperate! The spinning babies website is well worth a look.

DearDinah · 13/08/2014 22:15

Same here team she's frank breech, I'm really not keen on being turned, doing inversions & all fours even trying moxibustion as recommended by midwife, it makes her wriggle more but not sure about turning. I'm 37 weeks now so not sure how long before she has no roomto turn.
Turnbabiesturn!!

Just gone back through posts since Saturday to check all the updates as its gone a little crazy!

I've just listed everyone who has posted since then (so apologies to regular Sept posters who aren't on the list).

TBH due dates seem to actually be a bit, well, pointless given how things seem to have progressed over the last few days, so I've done this based on updates / plans since Sat. So in no particular order (other than who is currently in labour/about to deliver or imminently about to.

Topmammy - popped!

Nazly - been induced - not heard anything so presumably 'in progress'.
Cookie - in labour.
Ilove - being induced on Saturday
Tea - being induced on Monday

Dinah - currently breach, debating ECV v ELCS
TeamEponie - currently breach, ELCS if doesn't turn
Iatesomeofthepies - booked in for induction 1st Sept
Redtoothbrush - section booked
Dontevenblink - section booked for Wed 3rd Sept
Laura2611 - section booked for Friday 22nd Aug
Aisha18 - section booked for Friday 26th Sept
misog2000 - planned homebirth

cookielove · 14/08/2014 04:27

Baby is here!

dontevenblink · 14/08/2014 04:57

Yay!! Congratulations!! How are you both? Look forward to seeing some pics Smile

polkadotdelight · 14/08/2014 05:26

Huge congratulations cookie I hope you are both well.

My edd is Sept 17th and we know we are having s boy (just in case someone does the stats again).

I have given up trying to sleep/get comfortable so have decamped to the sofa - have a very happy cat cuddled up on my lap now. It used to be one of my favourite things to go to bed early with a cuppa and a good book but now I dread going to bed because I know Im in for hours of waking/weeing/leg cramps and trying to find a comfy position.

bugoven · 14/08/2014 05:39

Congratulations cookie! Hope you are both doing well and look forward to hearing all about it =)

I had my 36 week MW appointment and having had very impressive swelling/oedema since about wk31 I was found to have protein in my urine specimen and raised blood pressure. I was sent up to the hospital and spent 7 hrs up there. Conclusion was that baby is doing well but I seem to be developing preeclampsia. I will be monitored every few days by MW and at the hospital weekly with a trace and seen by a doctor. I also have an appointment with a consultant next Fri. Anyone else had similar? I thought this was quite common.

ilovemonstersinc · 14/08/2014 06:43

Thank you red

yay well done cookie!! How are you both??

Bug take it easy. Glad they are monitoring you!

been crampy all night with a few tightenings. Wonder if the sweep will work? Ooo exciting times lol

bug I had severe early pre-eclapsia with my first, and am high risk again, was last time too, but didn't get it! I don't have much idea what they do for later onset, with mine, I was admitted and they just kept baby in for as long as possible, then I had an emcs to deliver, but that was with it starting at 28 wks. I guess as you are more or less term, they would monitor it and induce/deliver if it showed any signs of getting worse. I guess they told you to look out for headaches/flashing lights etc? The only thing I would say is I didn't have any of those 'classic' symptoms and my consultant told me lots of women don't, just a general feeling of being unwell, so if at any point you just don't feel right make sure you get someone to check you out.
Congratulations cookie
A few more babies to come in the next few days I think.

Marjal12 · 14/08/2014 07:03

Another lurker jumping on board at the last minute! Nearly 35 weeks with 2nd. Team yellow. Already have a wee girl who turns 3 next week. In NI as I know some of you are. Hello! Been following your stories for months now ;-)
First, congratulations to topmammy and cookie on the new arrivals, and good luck to Nazly and ilove.
I'm writing this from hospital - have GD which isn't responding very well to insulin or diet control. Fine during day but levels go up overnight and in fasting periods. Near weekly appointments. Had scan yesterday and baby's growth had dropped from 90th to 50th percentile, so they admitted me for steroid injections in case they need to deliver earlier than thought. Had 1.5 hours sleep on ward thanks to another patient who blasted her TV until after 1am then snored all night and woke up swearing loudly 10 mins ago!
Also had opposite problem to cookie and had to pee every half hour. Knackered...
Hope you're all well and don't mind me joining in so late.

cookielove · 14/08/2014 07:49

Hello hello hello, little boy born last night at 11.30pm on the dot. Assisted foreceps delivery, but very quick. They were worried about his little hb as it dipped and accelerated. Trying to get out of bed now as he is in the nicu, I want to go see him!
