This is the first time I've really been looked at since 20wk scan, my bump has been small the whole way through and baby measured fine at that scan. I've seen so many different midwives that I've never been measured twice in a row by the same person so not convinced they all do it the same. I measured 29 at 31 weeks and then 30 at 33 weeks but bump looks significantly bigger in those two weeks to the naked eye so I don't know what's to think!

I'm nearly 6' tall and still very active so think stomach muscles are still in play a little too, oh well fingers crossed, I'll let you all know how it goes. Hope everyone else has a good day

KatharineClover · 13/08/2014 09:10

ella my previous labour was 3 1/2 hrs active labour (although from first regular contractions to baby was 12 hrs), I went from 5cm to pushing in an hour. He is worried this time I won't get the build up where I wasn't dilating (although cx every 2 mins) and just go straight to business!

misog I'm 5'10" and at 34weeks was measuring 33 weeks. Had similar last time (measuring behind a bit but not enough to warrant a scan) & so I bought tiny baby & newborn clothes and DS1 was 8lb 11oz and didn't fit!

Hope you pee soon, or get some help with it cookie

ilove hope you are listened to today and all goes well with your consultant.

IAteSomeofthePies · 13/08/2014 09:10

Good luck today, Misog, I hope that baby has grown lots! Cookie I hope the contractions stop and normal weeing starts. Ilove I don't think you would be unreasonable to really put your foot down. Go in with your bag and don't leave!

BooSurprise · 13/08/2014 09:48

ilove good luck today, I would certainly go with all your cards on the table, and ask for answers to all the questions you have put across on your last post.
cookie hope things settle for you soon, do keep mentioning the no pee thing if it's not normal tho, as uti can cause urinary retention or you maybe retaining fluid for some other reason, but they are just assuming you are dehydrated, which may not be the case. Make sure you note how much fluid you are having in and tell them that too! Even if you get out now, I personally would be being signed off sick until your mat leave kicks in, work can wait and you don't want to encourage this baby to be earlier than it needs to be!
I'm no where near ready for this baby, just hoping I can make some headway with everything that needs doing in the next 3 weeks! Have realised that I have over 60 cloth nappies tho, Shock eek so overboard, even with 2 in cloth need to get rid of a few I think before DH realises

TeamEponine · 13/08/2014 10:06

ilove Sounds like you need to be really stubborn and just refuse to leave. If baby is showing some signs of not being happy, then it sounds like they are ready to come out and meet you! Thanks

Noticed my first stretch marks this morning (34+3). Shock Sad

BexBoo12 · 13/08/2014 10:31

Ilove hope you get somewhere with your own consultant today, certainly sounds like that baby wants to come out to meet mum! Good luck

No news from nazly?

How are you getting on topmammy? Hope Jessica is doing well under the lamp for her bit of jaundice and hope you're settled at home soon. How's breast feeding going?

BexBoo12 · 13/08/2014 10:32

Teameponine I also noticed my first stretch mark around 33/34 weeks. I've got about 5 now (36+3) Shock

Teabiscuits · 13/08/2014 11:47

Wow it's all happening now isn't it! Hope you are okay cookie and nazly. Ilove hope everything goes on with consultant. I'm waiting to see mine right now ...

TheOnlySeven · 13/08/2014 12:43

ilove I agree you should be insisting on an induction, hope your concerns are taken seriously.

katherine I'm another one with fast labours. DD1 was fastest, my waters broke at 6am then nothing until mild contractions started around 7.30pm. They were too painful to ignore at around 9.30, where I was checked and found to be 5cm. I was moved to delivery and she arrived at 11.15.

boo I'm glad there's someone else here using cloth nappies!

Teabiscuits · 13/08/2014 12:47

Cloth nappies here too!

Still waiting to see consultant. Appointment was supposed to be at 10 Hmm.

misog2000 · 13/08/2014 13:36

All was fine at scan, first thing sonographer said was 'of course you measure small you are really tall' so I'm guessing it is something they see quite often.

Baby 5lb 2oz and around the 50th centile for everything except legs which are long (no surprise there).

Hope you get to see consultant soon tea, I hate waiting around in hospitals - why are they always so hot??

KatharineClover · 13/08/2014 15:19

I have loads of cloth nappies too - so addictive! Washed all my terries ready :)

Teabiscuits · 13/08/2014 15:34

Finally saw consultant 3 hours late! Induction booked for Monday, I'll be 37+2. So relieved to finally have a date.

Teabiscuits · 13/08/2014 15:36

Glad all went well with the scan missgog. Must be a relief for you Smile

Hello all, I am in labour. 4 cm dilated! Epidural is in!

RedToothBrush · 13/08/2014 16:39

Good luck cookie!

TeamEponine · 13/08/2014 16:50

Good luck cookie. ilove hope you're doing okay too.

DearDinah · 13/08/2014 16:50

Good luck cookie
Is anyone else facing the prospect of choosing an ECV or a c section? I have a scan on Friday to see if baby girl has turned yet, I don't think she has, I still feel her head in my ribs. I'm not fancying the prospect of an ECV but really wanted to do this naturally :(

Inbl00m · 13/08/2014 17:02

Good luck cookie!

DearDinah I don't have experience of either but just wanted to say try not to put too much pressure on yourself to do things one way or another, especially when so much is beyond your control. I'm sure you'll be fab at things you do have control over Smile

ilovemonstersinc · 13/08/2014 17:09

Had a sweep. She wasnt going to induce and she said dont worry I wont let you go more than 10days over! Then I said no. She said ok come back in2 weeks I said no. She said come back next Wednesday to see mw and have another sweep I said no book me for induction. Tried to scare me off by this point id already mentioned everything concerning me. I said book me in for induction at 39 weeks if you want me to come next Wednesday too she said noI said Im not happy leaving it so she tried to scare me some more and went off to book induction.
She then came in and said hows fetal movement I said ita been really reduced hea still moving here and there but not like before. She went out and booked me in for this Saturday!
Better than next Friday!

On the booking form shes put im 2-3cm she did internal. Shes 'brought cervix down too' and given me asweep. So I ccould go before that although not much happening atm. So being induced due to reduced fetal movement

good luck cookie Flowers

Dinah Apparently spending some time on all fours can encourage baby to turn. Maybe worth a try if you haven't already?

Good luck cookie - no back to work for you!

Nazly was being induced because of reduced movement as I recall, I think last we heard she had been induced but no progress? Hope you are getting on ok Nazly!

How was the consultant ilove? Certainly think you should be being induced - don't see why if you are term it makes any sense to try not to get a baby out that needs lots of monitoring and is showing any signs of distress!

lilone1234 · 13/08/2014 17:18

Crossed post.

ilove At least that's something! Such a shame you had to fight so much for it though! Hopefully you'll get some progress now!
