Hello all, feels like the contractions are coming back, still on the drip! They have given me more pain killers!

Loving that cardigan, that is amazing, well as is the bunny to Grin

Contractions are about 10 mins a part, last night every two!

Dh and my mum have left to go get food and stuff!

cookielove · 12/08/2014 14:25

ella glad your baby is doing well, how's the Gd?

lilone I think they say all this just to scare us, they made and off hand comment about the babies skull at a scan awhile ago and it had me all panicked, spoke to dh and he was like what comment Confused

iate I am just off the bottom of that list, so hopefully under 3% then :)

top Will they keep Jessica in for another day?

IAteSomeofthePies · 12/08/2014 14:42

Cookie I hope the contractions settle down. 10 minutes apart is better than 2, at least! Re: the chart, it's bound to be less than 3% in week 34, I'm sorry she doesn't give the number for it!

Glad to hear that people's growth scans are going well. Right at the middle line sounds perfect, Ella.

MW measured me today as spot on for dates (37+5) and about halfway between the middle and top line. It all sounded fine until I projected forward to what that would be at 40 weeks: over 10 pound baby! Yikes. I've agreed to induction at term for advanced maternal age, so I have a definite last possible date of 1st Sept. Scary stuff.

lilone1234 · 12/08/2014 15:33

iate I read that baby growth slows/plateaus at around 38 weeks rather than keep growing at the same rate all the way to 40 weeks, so hopefully your baby will weigh in a bit less than 10lbs!

ilovemonstersinc · 12/08/2014 16:00

Baby isnt transverse hes very head down! Dr scanned me wrong!
Hes really done.
Sonogrpher was shocked after reading last scans notes and comparing hoe much he's grown. Hes officially off the charts documented by scan. Mws, support workers, Sonogrpher etc all said hes better of out now as he had a bad trace last ans his estimated weight is 8lb8 heavier than my 1st!
they recommended lots of sex and hot baths

I was with my mum and mw said get him tk do some digging down there a d a good poke! Blush

iate this baby is on the 97th percentile if they are accurate he would be 10-12lbs if I went full term!

Hmmm I wonder if the statistics change if you have issues, e.g your water goes, you have your show, you start bleeding e.t.c!

Ok something that is really annoying about being here is people knock I say yes and then don't come in. So they knock again, louder yes or come in, still nothing! I am confined to a bed so so so annoying!

Also what can I drink to wee and seriously where is all the water going? I have drunk x3 cups of tea today, 1/2 a bottle of caffine free dcoke and almost 4 bottles of evain 75cl bottles of water. I was also on fluid up until 11 ish this am!

RedToothBrush · 12/08/2014 16:08

ilove, that is both reassuring and bloody terrifying! Just glad baby is head down after all.

lilone1234 · 12/08/2014 16:33

cookie Surely some of that fluid has to come out! Have you said it to the hospital staff?

ilove It's awful that they scanned you so wrong!

IAteSomeofthePies · 12/08/2014 18:04

I know that the measurements by scan are only an estimate, and have heard the fundal height measurement described by a medical professional as 'witchcraft', so I'm trying to keep an open mind. And I'm happy for a plateau!

Cookie I think those things are bound to affect your personal likelihood of giving birth in a particular week, unfortunately, no matter how unlikely it is in a population as a whole. Especially waters breaking, as I was under the impression that they were very likely to need to intervene to get the baby out within a few days in that situation.

Ilove so they're not going to do anything further to induce?

ilovemonstersinc · 12/08/2014 18:24

I think it was horrendous all that extra worry!

Im seeing my own consulant tomorrow regarding induction.
His head circumference hasnt grown since last scan but his abdo circumference is of his charts above 100th centile.

Also dopple pi has decreased?

Ella my babys stomach circumference if of his chart. But dont have gd. His head hasnt growm though and theres been a decrease in some placenta flow thingy according to scan notes. Im going to have to do my own research and make a plan about tomorrows appointment!

I too am shocked about the ultrascan ilove I cannot imagine having sex now though to hurry things along although dh would love it.

Oh I am staying in hospital till at least Thursday am! Then hopefully home for bed rest. May try to get to work the following Monday or just give up depending on everything.

Have told the dr's about the peeing they seem unconcerned!

lilone1234 · 12/08/2014 19:30

ella I did think that after having a think about it this afternoon. Hopefully will still be clear as I was at both checks earlier on in pregnancy - I know it would be a struggle to deal with and do feel for you having to deal with it! I suppose if it is positive at least i'm so near the end now it's not too long to get through. Would be nice if the doctors explained that though!

ilove that's awful the scan was wrong, but thank goodness you don't need to have the ECV now. Hope they decide to induce soon, are you fed up yet? Try not to worry too much about baby's size as it's only an estimate and one they often get wrong.

iate that chart is really interesting, especially for someone with a history of prem births. Really strange how the odds of having a baby at 35 weeks is only 3% yet I've managed it 3 times!

cookie you're in the right place, try not to worry about whether of not you'll go back to work. Keeping baby in a bit longer is far more important.

Does anyone have much left to do before their baby arrives? I think mos of our list is done now, just still need to get the car seat out and make sure we know how to fit it, and I'm waiting for DH to build storage for my newborn cloth nappies.

holls2000 · 12/08/2014 20:37

Ilove that is v bad about the scan.

Went to hospital, had got myself v worked up. Arrived at maternity day unit and was same nurses who looked after me when I had my mc's. They were so lovely and I kept apologising for wasting their time when it was shown that all was ok. They just kept saying it was nice to see me and really cheered me up.

Basically she said not tp worry too much as long as got 10 mvts a day and that pattern would change a bit as it got bigger and therefore had less space. Has been livelier this afternoon but quieter tonight....must be new pattern!

Have had a horrific couple of days and think I had just got v worked up. Feel happier now. Mw on Monday for 34 check, and consultant and scan on tues to see if still breech (was today) and to make plans.

Cookie, hope all going ok.

KatharineClover · 12/08/2014 21:52

I'm firmly in the legs-crossed gang as only 35+6 and my doula has an induction to attend tomorrow. DH is working flat out on a work project to get it completed before the baby arrives (new IT system for his school). I've not done anything crafty for this baby (unless you count our extension I've been project managing), but I found the taggy blanket I made for DS1. Last few bits being done on the house, I can't wait for it to be done - relying on my BIL to fit us in over the next few weekends though.
A bad combo is: a uti + shy bladder + builders in the house ... this afternoon they took the bathroom door off to fix the floor and I was absolutely bursting to go. After weeing (when they put the door back!) I ended up with a hour or so of sharp low pelvic pains which I think was my bladder complaining, didn't feel long enough to be contractions.
Poor DH jumps in fright every time I 'oof' just getting off the sofa - he asks at least once a day 'are you having the baby?' I think he won't believe me when I do eventually say yes! I think his panic is due to DS's birth being fast - he's afraid of having to be the midwife at an impromptu homebirth I think, poor chap.
Hope the contractions calm down cookie and that everyone's scans go very well x

misog2000 · 12/08/2014 22:30

Hope everyone is ok and you have managed to pee cookie, sounds horrid.

Holls I went in for reduced movement on Friday and typically as soon as I got hooked up to the machine the baby went crazy! Felt bad for wasting their time but they all said they'd rather you go in or call to check and everything be fine than not and there be a problem.

Growth scan tomorrow, I'm not that worried for some reason as I think the baby is normal sized and I'm just measuring small cause I'm so tall - fingers crossed that is the case and I can tell everyone who keeps trying to force feed me to leave me alone. I wouldn't mind but I'm hardly a skinny girl and definitely don't need feeding up!

Seven you're just unique! Or unusual, at least...

ilovemonstersinc · 13/08/2014 07:03

Baby doesnt seem to be moving an awful lot compared to what he has been. Since last night 9pm I've had 2 kicks which is unusual for him.
Worrying me as there are a few factors that make it sound like hes in distress. His heart rate going upto 200 and base line being 180 (normal is 120-160) in triage on the notew they use it says its a red alert if babys heart rate goes over 180 for (didnt read how long) and also red if it goes under 120. It had been 202 at highest and over 180 for nearly 2 hours. The trace had decels too which went lower than 120.
The fact that his doppler pi has dropped to below recommended level means something not right (gdd, slow growth, fetal distress etc) and the face hes not moving a lot.

I always say im putting my foot down etc and end up coming home disappointed but there are signs hes distressed and I'm not happy with continuing a pregnancy when hes term and could be not happy. aibu?
the mw who I saw on the way out of the hosp was more like a friend that's how nice they are and it's been her who I see at appointments and she does bp and urine check (shes mw support worker not really mw) and she said they should have took him out when his h.r was that High for that long. Then a proper mw came (I was with mum and mum knows a lot of mws at the hosp) and she agreed and she even asked another mw. None of them could believe nothing was done.
Imo nothing was done as when the dr came to check the trace the mw who was looking after mw had folded the paper up and dr had turned up after the 2 hours and baby had just calmed down but she didn't check the full trace despite me asking her to check.

I see my consulant today.
Managed to dtd and have hot bath like recommended and just got out of a hot bath.
