Sorry, that was a long moan, I'll lighten the mood by showing you a pic of the rabbit I've knitted for the baby (which ds1 is currently cuddling :) )

Has anyone else done any crafty stuff for their baby they'd like to share? Grin

Love the hat cookie! I haven't crocheted for ages...

This is the set I've knitted, I make one in a different colour for each dc. The hat is the only thing I can take into c-section for the baby, I can't dress it until get out of recovery and DH can get the bags out the car!

Good luck with the injection, hope its not as painful this time Flowers

I told them and they said it's down to the speculum, that was third one and first time I bled from it! Told midwife this morning and she Was more concerned.

I'm 34 weeks today!

I feel better today just bored now!

polkadotdelight · 12/08/2014 08:53

I bought this book for my mum when the book people came to work.

www.thebookpeople.co.uk/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/qs_product_tbp?productId=373900&storeId=10001&catalogId=10051&langId=100

Some beautiful patterns in there.

Have made a chilli this morning, half for tonight and half for the freezer so thats the start of my batch cooking. Going shopping this afternoon so thought I'd be too knackered to cook tonight.

polkadotdelight · 12/08/2014 08:53

Glad you are feeling better today

polkadotdelight · 12/08/2014 08:55

cookie! phone posted too soon!

CoolCat2014 · 12/08/2014 09:12

Good luck Nazly! I believe we have the same due date - 2nd Sept? So you must be at term now :)

Can't believe I'm 37 weeks today, don't feel very prepared. DH has started nesting like crazy, it's so cute, he's pulled everything out of baby's room and has started painting. Only problem is that the stuff I was going to pack in my bag is now all covered in sheets or buried in the depths of the spare room with everything piled on top of it. And I've still got boxes to unpack from moving, but they are buried too! Hopefully will get all sorted in the next couple of days, so legs firmly crossed till then!

I've made a patchwork quilt for baby, nearly finished, but need to get some extra fabric! Will take a photo in a bit. Don't - love the rabbit!

Hope everyone is well today?

holls2000 · 12/08/2014 09:43

Oh my word, you crafty lot, am so impressed. I have negative talent in that area.

Rang triage this am cos baby v quiet. She asked if had felt today - yes, am I getting more than 10 mvts in 24 hours - yes, basically see how feel. But if still worried ring and go in this afternoon. Baby been pretty active today so assume that all the stress we have had over past few days has been affecting it. Today I am going to have quiet time and check movement and hopefully stop worrying.

CoolCat2014 · 12/08/2014 10:02

Holls - think it's hard not to worry! My baby has no pattern to her movements, and has some days where I don't feel her as much, and some days where it seems like she won't give me a break (she likes to punch me in the hip sometimes, and I swear I can feel her sucking her thumb).

Had a panic this morning as had a little dark browny red discharge, phoned midwife who said it's fine as cervix starts to change now and if it's dark it means it's old, but to call back if I get anything fresh & red. It's all so new to me!

BexBoo12 · 12/08/2014 10:37

Holls I've also had reduced movements, but my midwife didn't seem too concerned, telling me that as long as I feel him moving at 10 different times a day it's ok. I do feel him on 10 different occasions a day, but his movements are different and they do worry me. Hope your little one wriggles today to let mummy know she's fine Grin

Nazly thinking of you! Hope you're ok x

Cookie, glad you're feeling better today and they've managed to stop your contractions. Fingers crossed baby will stay and cook a bit longer!!

Ilove, what's ecv? Is that where they try to turn baby?

I'm 36+2 today and have constant shooting pains up my lady area, had back ache for days which is driving me mad as I've not suffered at all throughout, and period pains too!! Can't wait for baby to come now Grin

Impressed with all the crafty bits!! My mum and MIL are doing all the knitting. I only do paper cutting x

ilovemonstersinc · 12/08/2014 10:57

Yep ecv is when they try and turn the baby but I doubt it will work as hes 5 weeks ahead of dates too so I think he may be too big to move again.

Cookie I had bleeding due to specs! They are absolutely horrible! I really feel for you Flowers

ladies get your bags packed! Grin

holls2000 · 12/08/2014 11:53

thanks all - seems to have woken up a bit, have felt 10 movements already, and just watched my tummy move which was bizarre!!

hope all ok with all of you...i have decided that mw knows best and if in doubt just ring!! they were so nice when I calles earlier it really made me feel less of an idiot!!

TheOnlySeven · 12/08/2014 12:29

cookie glad they've stopped the contractions now.

Hope all of our other labouring ladies are doing ok.

TheOnlySeven · 12/08/2014 12:30

My finished craft project, now doing a light pink sparkly one

September 2014- will there be any babies yet??
RedToothBrush · 12/08/2014 13:19

Dontevenblink. I am booked in for 39+2 as well. I did have an option of booking in slightly earlier, but I was slightly wary to do that because there are more issues with breathing before 39 weeks.

I am very much regretting this now as I'm beginning to think I am not going to get that far. Since Saturday, I've had on/off cramps, shooting pains, and pressure on my pelvis from baby moving down. Nothing that sounds 'out of the ordinary' for my dates, or suggests its early labour, but its making me increasingly worried. And since last night my hips have decided to give up on me. So I'm feeling pretty fed up and sorry for myself as moving around has become pretty painful.

I am a bit concerned as the hospital isn't the closest and if I needed an ambulance, I wouldn't be taken there. The nearer hospital hasn't really got the facilities to accommodate my birth plan either.

The only consolation I have is, as I was saying to DH last night as he was telling me to relax, is that being stressed is more likely to delay labour. So he told me to stress away!

topmammy · 12/08/2014 13:24

Good luck cookie!! It really is like the domino effect around here! Same on the August group too! That full moon thing is and interesting theory for sure! cumbrian Jessica is my first baby but my waters went before contractions started and she came nearly 3 weeks early - both unusual for FTM so you never know lol.

Well I was all set to go home today but my poor little Jessie needs to stay a bit longer for some light therapy for jaundice :(

September 2014- will there be any babies yet??
IAteSomeofthePies · 12/08/2014 13:46

Nice work, crafty ladies!

She is a beauty, Top! I hope the light clears the jaundice right up.

I started thinking about a chart I'd seen in 'Expecting Better', by Emily Osler, which seemed appropriate for many of us about now. It shows your chances of giving birth in a particular week if you're still pregnant at the beginning of that week:
Week 35 (35+0 to 35+6) 3%
Week 36 5%
Week 37 11%
Week 38 25%
Week 39 46%
Week 40 59%
Week 41 58%
Week 42 virtually 100%

This last is because most places induce at 42 weeks at the latest. It is based on all births in the US for 2008, so it's got good data. It will be a little out for we first timers and also may be skewed by higher rates of induction in the States, but still interesting.

lilone1234 · 12/08/2014 13:49

Aww hopefully Jessica gets to go home soon! She really is adorable top! You cooked that baby well!

I had growth scan and consultant this AM. Consultant has ordered another growth scan at 39 weeks because baby's abdomen is measuring quite large (though overall growth is fine and estimated weight is 2.9kg at 36 weeks) and I had to go for random blood sugar test too (which took several attempts of stabbing me with needles) despite having already had two negative GTT tests (sort of feel like they think I should DEFINITELY have gestational diabetes and are annoyed I don't fit the 'overweight and pregnant' mould - but that is obviously me being silly)

It's confusing because they always seem to be saying everything is ok at appointments but that doesn't seem to add up with being made to have extra blood tests and a 3rd growth scan? I suppose it's good they are being thorough, but I feel like i'm missing something...

Lovely handmade bits by the way ladies!
