ilove sorry for the personal question but how uncomfortable is it down there? Do you think it could just be the baby putting pressure there? I've heard of women pooing involuntarily during birth, I guess during contractions combined with pelvic pressure could make it possible.

ilovemonstersinc · 11/08/2014 20:15

It just feels ok atm a little stingy burny but not too muchthe worry is because I tore with ds1 and dont want it to be connected

ilove are you in pain? I ask because I mentioned to my physio I sometimes leak a little wee when my SPD is bad (sorry if tmi!) and she said when you are in pain your body can relax your muscles rather than tense them as it is trying to deal with the pain in a different way to you (e.g. Someone with leg pain may said their leg gave way, but really the brain sent the 'relax' message automatically to deal with the pain and that is what made them fall) - not sure if I'm making sense? I had the most thorough clear out in early labour with DS that I have ever experienced, is labour giving you an upset tum? If it is worrying you it's time to call your mw I think xx

whiteblossom I also had PND, mine was quite mild but manifested as extreme anxiety rather than any other symptoms. It took me weeks and weeks to leave DS with his daddy, and the first time I left him with my mum or MIL I think he was 8 months old. I was quite unwell after his birth had many issues BFing which I think contributed to my mental health - I've got good support in place this time around (DH, birth & postnatal doula, family) so I'm hoping things will be better. :)

Good luck to all those with inductions, tightenings and contractions xx

Little update: on the labour ward, they are trying to get the contractions to stop, had steroids to help his lungs (ow) and I will be stuck here for at least 48 hrs!

OMG! Who was it who brought up the full moon?!

Cookie I hope they can slow things down and give the steroids time to work.

iLove it's probably just another super glam aspect of pregnancy, but maybe time to call the MW?

Legs firmly crossed over here, Red!

cookielove · 11/08/2014 20:48

Ella, I am 33+6!

Steroid injection stings like a mofo!

polkadotdelight · 11/08/2014 20:49

Its all kicking off now! Good luck all you ladies!

IAteSomeofthePies · 11/08/2014 20:50

And Twos as well! Sheesh! This is turning into the August deliveries thread!

xxmissbrightsidexx · 11/08/2014 21:14

Omg not gonna be able to take my eyes off this thread now, ladies popping all over the place lol x
Good luck Nazly & Cookie
Got hospital tomorrow as need to have weekly traces done on baby & then see my consultant afterwards x

xxmissbrightsidexx · 11/08/2014 21:16

This is definitely spurring me on to do hospital bags, when I have the energy lol.. Backs still killing :(

TwosaCrowd · 11/08/2014 21:16

Iate - funny you say that, I was/am on the October 2011 antenatal thread, but DS ended up being born in September!

TwosaCrowd · 11/08/2014 21:18

Good luck cookie - didn't realise you were having contractions as well, must have missed that part as I only thought your mucus plug has gone! Wondering if mine are contractions or just BH.

BooSurprise · 11/08/2014 21:27

Bloody hell, I popped on this eve to check on ilove and top to find not only one new baby, congratulations top, but people start to pop all over.
Good luck nazy and cookie. Absolutely agree with you cookie those steroids sting like a bd, I still remember that 4 years on.
With all this movement, maybe I should get on and pack a bag or something!
donteven I found recovering from my second section much easier than the first, but it was elec rather than emerg. Hoping that this one will be just as easy- driving after 2-3 weeks, virtually pain free after 10days.
Lots of BH here but no other real signs of any movement, 36 weeks Friday, and although I have only been doing the odd couple of hours work from home for the past 3 weeks, weds will officially be my ' get rid of all work day' can't wait!

lilone1234 · 11/08/2014 21:28

Certainly is all happening! Good luck Nazly I hope all is well! And cookie too, hope your little one holds off for now so the steroids can work!

I'm 36w tomorrow and have growth scan and consultant in the morning - will be interested to see the weight estimate! Hoping my iron hasn't fallen so low to warrant iron supplements too as I don't fancy constipation.

Going to take myself off to bed now. Having a fed up day - tried to assemble colour pack and carry cot and got fed up trying to wrestle it all out of boxes etc in tiny amount of space in garage. Can't stand up for more than 15 minutes without feeling knackered and really struggling to get around now - hips and lower back seem to have totally given up.

It just annoys me that I tire so quickly and can't get everything done - I like a clean house but the thing with cleaning is it's never done, things always get messy again! It really is something I should try and surrender with a baby on the way - i'm just a bit too OCD sometimes and probably should put my feet up a bit more! Just feeling frustrated.

Nazly · 11/08/2014 22:00

Thank you all :) and a little update from the ward here: they induced me at 6, but nothing has happened till now, no contractions, no nothing... Scan estimated the weight to be 3.45kg but I have heard it could be quite inaccurate?

Ladies, get your bags packed... Seriously... I was still at work this week (planned to stop at 38w), was away for a long weekend this weekend and so was mentally very unprepared... I am glad I handed over my projects -well almost... - last week just in case...

But luckily my bag was almost packed with a few things that I just bought over the weekend added... The consultant didn't even want me to go home to get my bag, she said your husband can do it... Eeek ...I insisted if she can give me an hour to get home and back... As I just felt very much under pressure...

So yes, anybody thinking ooh it won't happen to me, just think there may be a chance ... My plan of a birth centre went right out of the window replaced by a high risk delivery now...

KitKat1985 · 11/08/2014 22:10

Wow. This thread really is kicking off now! Best of luck to Nazly and cookie as well as Ilove. Will be checking in regularly to see how you are all getting on. xxx

Wow, just managed to catch up from yesterday, and can't believe how much is happening!!

Hope you are doing ok nazly, cookie and ilove Thanks Will be checking this thread as much as I can today if any of you want a chat Smile

red I also have my legs firmly crossed, they've moved my c-section date from 1st to 3rd, which isn't by much, but is gestation (39+2) I went into labour with dc1, so I'm a bit worried about going into labour beforehand and having to rush in with the kids with me! With 2 shoulder dystocias and being told after c-section there was no way I'd have been able to give birth to dc3 naturally I am terrified about going into labour early and not making it to hospital in time. My midwife has said that we just go into hospital and have emcs, but its not so easy with 3 other dc... I'm seeing her today and going to ask her all about it. Sorry for moan, all this early labour has scared me a bit Grin

ilovemonstersinc · 12/08/2014 02:15

Nazly welcome to being term im sure you was out by 1 day and today is a different day [flower]

Hello all, can't sleep so thought I'd pop on here for a little read!

nazly, hope all is well and things start moving, re hospital bag completely agree to get it packed we were packing mine while waiting for my mum to come get us :)

Contractions have stopped yay! I was one to one and a half cm dialated when they checked yesterday, they saw the babies hair, I haven't been checked since, although was checked on Sunday and I was closed.

Still having lots of mucus, so that has definitely gone and all my back pain is gone aswell. Have managed some sleep, but they keep waking me up!

Oh but I literally cannot pee, just a dribble with hours in between Hmm

And I am not eating much either!

So that's me!

dontevenblink · 12/08/2014 05:58

Hi cookie glad the contractions have stopped and you're feeling better, although boo to not being able to eat much or wee! Do you know if they're going to keep you in now?

Hope everything goes well with the consultant and the ecv ilove, sorry your baby is giving you such a hard time of it!

Spoke to midwife and she said she wasn't sure why they decided on that date as she would have wanted earlier, but she said if I do go into labour early to just drive straight to hospital with dc as well and they'll have to sit in waiting room with DH whilst I have emcs, or until a friend can pick them up. Not ideal as would mean DH would miss birth, but my midwife would at least be there, so I'd know someone. I'm hoping I'd be able to drop dc off at one of my friends on way...

Midwife did say that if waters just break at night. (which they do first with me) that hospital won't count it as emergency and to wait till morn, but I did remind her that when waters went with dc2 the hospital told me to stay at home and ring at 8am - he was born at 7.48 am after an ambulance ride!! I've decided if they do go I'll say I've got contractions anyway so they'll take me, rather than wait at home and end in disaster... Midwife did assure me she'll be there whole time with me and will make sure hospital are very aware of the danger of letting me labour naturally, and I should be top priority. Please please please baby stay put till the 3rd! !
