Poor you missb it sounds truly horrendous! I'd be seriously tempted to try and find a friend's house or somewhere to go for a few days if all other ways to show them how inappropriate their visit en mass is for you at the mo.Not that you should have to be so inconvenienced but it might show them the strength of your feelings.

What a grumpy delivery man bex Glad you got something from mamas and papas for it.

Rang my mum and feel better now. Mummys are great!! Can't quite believe I am going to be one in less than a month, yikes!!

xxmissbrightsidexx · 08/08/2014 17:11

It's times like this I wish I knew people round here top , I struggle to make friends etc, but said to my OH earlier i wish I could just go away from them for the week :( Doesn't help that he's at work the whole time that they're here neither, I'll be rocking in a corner when he gets home x

Inbl00m · 08/08/2014 17:21

Argh can I join the MIL rant?

Everything I've mentioned planning on doing with baby - e.g. putting her to sleep on her back, nothing controversial - has elicited a laugh and a comment along the lines of 'You'll change your mind when she gets here'. Even to the extent of her asking me if I 'don't trust her' when I turned down babysitting in the first few months to go out drinking!? Me and DH don't do much drinking anyway so why would I start going out drinking when I have a small baby?? Argh.

Anyway, missbright sorry for hijacking your MIL topic and I feel your pain. Yours sounds worse as well! Have you looked at local groups, etc., for mums and babies near you? You might find you meet likeminded people nearby through those once baby arrives.

whiteblossom · 08/08/2014 17:30

er... four adults on a double air bed....yeah as if! Why do they think they can decend on you without asking or being invited?!

Missb in the nicest possible way, you are going to have to start saying "no that's no convienent' or Im sorry the airbed is broken/borrowed by friend etc. Its hard work having guests at the best of times. I hope they help out (though strongly suspect they wont), feel free to come on here and moan Smile

I have my BIL next week (thankfully only for the evening)- I have my issues with him, so much so I haven't seen or spoke to him in two years. He's a two faced, back stabbing, brown nosing shit.

KitKat1985 · 08/08/2014 17:44

Ekk according to my fundal height chart that midwife did today baby is having a growth spurt. She's normally been at about the 50-60th centile range but now she's more like 70-75th centile. I hope it's a short lived growth spurt or she's heading to be a big baby, which just sounds painful to me! Shock

Dazedconfused · 08/08/2014 17:45

I plan to catch up soon but just popped on for some reassurance. I'm 34 weeks tomorrow but woke up today and after toilet wiped and had pinkish brown discharge (has not been loads just a bit). I phoned the midwife team and the woman I spoke to says it sounds fine but if any red blood or pain to call triage. I have been fine since and no discharge but now I can't stop thinking is my mucus plug and over analysing little aches and pains.

do you think I should maybe call triage for more reassurance or just see how the evening goes?

I am going to have a wee read up the thread to catch up/distract myself

ilovemonstersinc · 08/08/2014 18:17

Dazed it could be some irritation to your cervix. Ive had it a few times this pregnancy and last. If you get more or get pain etc go and get checked out x

OP posts:
ilovemonstersinc · 08/08/2014 18:22

Sorry should say that's nothing to worry about but if you feel any different so get checked

OP posts:
whiteblossom · 08/08/2014 18:28

Dazed sounds like your mucus plug to me, this can takes weeks to come away. As your mw said (and lets face it she knows better than us) any pain or red blood to call them back. At 34 weeks, even if you had to deliver, chances are everything would be fine. BY all menas contact triage if it makes you feel better- no point worrying all weekend xx

Dazedconfused · 08/08/2014 19:08

Thanks whiteblossom and ilove I gave triage a wee call(because my brain. wouldn't stop otherwise) and they said same as mw this morning....also pointed out if wasn't for the discharge I wouldn't be noticing the slight aches etc.

Thanks Smile is all so new to me

CumbrianExile · 08/08/2014 19:23

MissB - that sounds awful. I would say put your foot down and stop them coming, but its easier said than done isnt it!

Sorry missb didnt have time for a long post before.

I really hope your dh tells them they are over stepping it by a lot!

OP posts:
Teabiscuits · 08/08/2014 20:30

missb how awful. Its so hard telling people they aren't actually welcome. Maybe you could start being totally unbearable to them so they leave!

ilove congrats on full term! This one has certainly given you a time of it!

donteven I really feel for you. Hubby usually does 12-14 hour shifts, and its so hard with 3 of them sometimes, let alone 4. I don't have that problem at the moment though, hubby had torn his hamstring and can't work for a while. Luckily we have enough money saved as a buffer for this kind of thing, so don't need to worry for a few weeks. Remember how pregnant you are, and there is no shame in using the tv/computer games as a babysitter sometimes.

Thanks to everyone else as well, we all definitely deserve them!

Growth scan this morning showed baby is 4lb14 (36 weeks tomorrow) Better than last time, but not by much and with my history they are likely to induce at 37 weeks now, will make a plan with consultant on Weds. Had first of 2 steroid injections today to help baby's lungs. On the plus side baby has now turned so no longer breech.

Better finish packing my hospital bag...

TheOnlySeven · 08/08/2014 20:33

Hi, I've not been around for several weeks (again!) how is everyone? And do we have any babies here yet?

I had my steroid injections on weds and yesterday to strengthen babies lungs as my other 3 were all premature, I'm now only 9 days away from when DD2 was born.

How many people have had the whooping cough jab and how were you afterwards? I had it yesterday and been feeling really awful today, stomach upset and a horrible woozy headache, not sure whether it's related or not.

TheOnlySeven · 08/08/2014 20:35

tea what's your history?

Teabiscuits · 08/08/2014 20:35

oh and welcome back bex - long time no see! x

lucidlady · 08/08/2014 20:40

Hello ladies!

Yet again apologies for not being around much but I have been following the thread and keeping up with you all. Thankfully today marks the end of work and the start of holidays then straight into maternity leave. Yay!

36 weeks today and this little one has also been keeping me busy with hospital trips as a result of reduced movements. Thankfully all is ok but it's so scary to think somethig might be wrong isn't it.

Hope everyone is well and I will be around lots more now Smile

Teabiscuits · 08/08/2014 20:48

Whoops, missed that one! I had slowed growth in last pregnancy but they let me carry on to go into labour naturally, and I did at 40+1 because placenta had come away too early. Had a heammorage and lost about 2 litres of blood. Luckily DS was born naturally 4 hours later and we were both unscathed but we were very lucky. I am already higher risk for it happening again, as it has happened once before, and baby being small again suggests the placenta could be struggling, so safer all round to get baby out.

Placental Abruption is pretty rare (about 1 in 100) and severe ones are rarer still - I don't want to worry anyone! I was just unlucky.

cookielove · 08/08/2014 20:58

Wow this thread has moved on really quickly!!

I've read up, caught up and I am sending out un mumsnetty hugs to everyone

My back is too sore and we finally got a sofa!

Blood pressure is being checked regularly from now on!

TheOnlySeven · 08/08/2014 21:08

Crikey that sounds scary, you were definitely lucky. Glad to hear you're being monitored better this time and they're taking steps to prevent it happening again.

ilovemonstersinc · 08/08/2014 21:14

Yay welcome back everyone! !
Still not heard from waffles, kicksandgiggles and fairy kicks was having twins. Waffles was mw and fairy had that test done too.

Hi all, been a long time since I have been on here. 35 weeks + 3. Already got a DS who will be 3 at the end of September.

I had a CS last time as DS was in breech but think I'm going for VBAC this time, seeing the consultant on weds...with my MIL!! DH away on a work trip, really missing him, he's away for ten days, back late weds.

Anyone else got perma-braxton hicks? I keep wondering if its labour because they really take the puff out of me at times. DS was born at 37 weeks (exactly) so I do wonder if this one will be the same.

cookielove · 08/08/2014 22:20

Twos what is Perma-Braxton Hicks, i often have a tightening across my tummy, which is not at all pleasant.

I have been speaking to my sister tonight, who thinks i may have Pelvic Girdle Pain, and i think she may be right, it is blooming painful so going to look into getting some acupuncture and i am wearing the recommended band for it!

Is anyone else suffering?

TheOnlySeven · 08/08/2014 22:32

cookie I've been suffering the last couple of days with both hips hurting round the back whenever I stand up, not at all pleasant. However I'm expecting to go into labour within the next fortnight so mine is probably just my joints loosening up ready.

I've had no BH this time thankfully, had them in my first pregnancy but not with my DDs.

Right off to bed, is anyone else exhausted?!
