top I've watched season 1-3 of scandal! Tis brilliant!

white its really good!

missbright how frustrating and upsetting for you!

So I was back in hospital today, my blood pressure was too high again and I may have a uti! Fun!

whiteblossom · 07/08/2014 08:48

Oh no cookie I hope your feeling alright. Did your mw send you to the hospital to get checked out? Have they given you any antibiotics? Feet up if you can and take it easy x

Im really having problems sleeping, Ive got a baby bum and feet sticking out and I just cant get in a position I can sleep in.

ilovemonstersinc · 07/08/2014 09:33

Ohh cookie hope they sort you out soon!

I dont get time to watch much tv. During the day I'm at mums so dont watch it there and evening its getting kids sorted for bed and dh will watch tv. If theres a film on will watch it too otherwise would rather get work done or relax.

ella if it's any consolation, I'm really struggling with GD diet at the mo, and I'm running high constantly! Even with an increase of insulin, I've got to be careful as I don't want to balloon weight wise in this last 4 weeks either, as I've done so well up till now.
I can't remember who has saying about lack of continuity with mw, but this is me too, I'm seen by the same people at the hospital which is fine, but I'm supposed to also see the comm mw team, but I struggle to get an appt, and then have to relay ALL my history, I just can't be bothered, I need to try to get an appt for 36 weeks too, that'll be fun (and a waste of time!)
kitkat I don't think the 36 week thing just applies to NHS I think it's across the board, but how they can prove that something is solely related to pregnancy, other than labour/birth I'm not sure, do you have any AL that would allow a couple of days off?
I'm home alone today, so trying to sort out bedroom furniture and painting, don't know how successful I'll be, my bed is calling!

whiteblossom · 07/08/2014 13:23

I am in a really bad mood.

Just tripped over the dog, who is always under my feet and woke me up last night whining to come upstairs- she's not allowed but dh had been allowing it for the last week and I let it go...last night I made sure she was kept downstairs and it was me that had to go and sort her out in the middle of the night. So she is in the 'dog house' as is anyone who talks to me Blush

I need Cake big fat chocolate fudge cake would really help.

TeamEponine · 07/08/2014 15:03

Arghhhh!!! I need to join whiteblossom in the bad mood and ranting stakes.

Someone at work just came up to me and said "Why are you still here, haven't you dropped yet?" Shock I've still got six weeks to go!!! Angry

Really feel the need for chocolate now...

whiteblossom · 07/08/2014 15:58

team Id have replied "why are you still here, I thought they fired you over that 'thing'?" He'll no doubt ask what thing and you can mmmm and ahh and say oh nothing, nevermind..

haha. eat chocolate I think you deserve it Grin

holls2000 · 07/08/2014 16:56

Team, why do people think they can say such things? It's so rude, smack 'em.

Baby doing it's quiet thing - 2 active days then it wears itself out so is quieter...still moving just less so., coincides with me being busy during the day. Quieter day tomorrow - the Moses basket is arriving tomorrow so lots of lying on the sofa waiting for the bell to ring!!

cookielove · 07/08/2014 18:25

Hello all :)

team you should definitely use whites reply, that is brilliant!

Ok so, they are not sure if have a uti but I have a prescription, which was a hospital one which you can only get from that hospital, so thankfully my wonderful mother picked it up for for me today! Cause they gave it to me yesterday after the pharmacy closed!

Another midwife appointment tomorrow to check blood pressure and they hopefully off to get a sofa, lets hope that third attempt works.

Oooh I may go on maternity leave earlier as work owe me 3 weeks 4 days whoop whoop!

Nazly · 07/08/2014 19:57

I have tomorrow off after a long long time ; so happy about it; we are going away for a long weekend ...

Miss please don't google; I know it is easier said than done... I agree with Ilove, now they have you in high risk cat they will just pay close attention to you until baby is delivered safely x

I am a bit at a loss, had no scan and no weight estimation and no nothing apart from measuring the bump since 20W; I find it difficult to believe they just rely on measurement to know you and baby are OK ...?! I find it very difficult to follow baby movements too ... So I just don't know what is going on and if everything is well in there...? Anybody else feeling the same?

Acorncat · 07/08/2014 21:23

nazly I feel the same. Bump was measured at 31w and will be measured next week at 36, so no idea what's happening in the meantime. Measuring bump seems a bit haphazard too, especially if midwife is in a hurry. Don't think I have a growth chart/curve thingy, so can't even look at that. I don't seem to have any patterns to movement and it's so easy to panic that there's not been enough if you convince yourself. I'd love a growth scan just now, would ease my mind!

TeamEponine · 07/08/2014 22:27

To make it worse, the person that said that to me is female with two children!!! I wish I'd have replied with something witty like you've suggested. I just said something like "apparently not" and then ranted afterwards Angry

dontevenblink · 08/08/2014 00:20

People can be so insensitive can't they, makes me mad... I can never think of a reply until after either! I just seem to get stares at my bump at the moment, but not actually saying anything, so goodness knows what they're thinking Hmm Most of the comments I do get seem to go along the lines of "4!! You're having 4?!!" Yes, yes I am and before you say it, yes I will have my hands full with four 6 and unders, I'm already panicking enough thank you (not that I'd tell them that!)

acorn I have a growth chart for bump size in my old notes for dc3 if you want to know any numbers.

I am so tired, don't know if anyone saw my last rant, as I do post when you are all (hopefully!) asleep, but DH seems to have decided being out of the house from 7.30 to 7 isn't long enough, so is now getting back about 8, once dc are all in bed. I said to him last night I don't know how much longer I can keep going without any help at all - he's working sunday aswell just to top it all off Sad I know he has a full on job, but aaaaghh!

Nazly · 08/08/2014 05:58

Dont yes! I for one read all the messages yours included even when I can't post! and I felt sorry last time you said that, I can't remember how many weeks you are but I am nearly 37 now and I just could not take care of a small kid (let alone 3) for a full day now! It is impossible! This is our first, we don't have any family nearby either, so I just don't know how you do it.... I still work (until 38w) but that is different, it is desk based and I drive to work... I hope your dh will slow down soon...

With regards to growth chart, My problem is I am not sure if measuring the bump quickly and as acron says in rush is a good indicator that all is well inside anyhow! Seems a bit arbitrary to me... How does your chart work?

Nazly · 08/08/2014 06:06

I gave up caring about what people say and how they look at me ages ago... Otherwise would be upset about it everyday! A woman working in my team told me she can't believe Somebody could get any bigger than me last week !! What would I say!! :) a woman in a pub told me a few weeks ago ooooh we should get clean towels ready!! I can't even count how many comments I have..
When I go to desktop I'll post a bump picture so you all see :) I also think my bump is big now and am surprised I can still stand when I look in the mirror!!!! But that is really none of people's business , is it? I wouldn't care ladies, Not now, not when baby is borne... It is Not worth your time and energy... As I learned once you are pregnant or have a baby apparently you are every stranger's business !!!

dontevenblink · 08/08/2014 06:51

Thanks Nazly, its a bit wierd being in a different time zone to you all, always have lots of posts to read when I get up though Smile

I'm not sure how I manage with 3 kids myself sometimes Grin I think you just get used to whatever you have and then don't know any different! It's at times like this you realise just how far family is though (although most apart from my mum were rubbish when we lived in UK, so it prob wouldn't be much different if we were there anyway...)
They don't start measuring here till about 34 weeks, if at all, I wasn't measured with dc3 at all - they just go by feeling baby and monitoring you, but you only have one midwife here, who you choose and does your birth as well (or in my case comes to c-section with me). Plus weekly visits are standard from 35 weeks, so much easier to monitor as they know you.

The chart I have from UK is the symphysis-fundal height chart and gives weeks against cm's with an average line, so at 33 weeks average is 33cm, 35 is 35cm, 37 is 37 cm etc. Seems all a bit specific to me though...

On a really annoying note, just had my c-section date letter from hospital and they've moved it from 1st Sep to 3rd, which means I'll be 39+2 which is when labour started with dc1 so feeling bit nervous now!!!

holls2000 · 08/08/2014 08:14

Nazly - in my hospital notes there are 2 charts, they have only just started using them. One does bump measurement vs weeks and the other does weight from scan vs weeks. We have a mw drop in, they have been my saving grace really as I have been able to pop up and hear the heartbeat whenever I want. I have had scans at 9, 12, 20 and 32 weeks and have another one in 2 weeks, but only because of my history and now because of presentation of baby.

Today I am waiting for the Moses basket to arrive which is quite exciting.

If I had a pound for every time people mentioned how big I am, I would never have to go back to work. It is so rude and I can't ever get over how people think they have the right to talk about bump size...!

ilovemonstersinc · 08/08/2014 08:19

Dont I read your posts too. Im struggling looking after 2 boys here with the help of my mum when shes free during the day. Im a hormonal snappy bitch atm. I do hope your dh can get some time to help you soon Flowers

naz growth scans are done if theres a reason for them (measuring too big, too small, gd etc) otherwise in a low risk pregnancy they are happy to leave you to it. My mum had scans every 2 weeks for the 38weeks my sis had 2 scans plus 1 extra from triage as she was bleeding.

37 weeks today. Baby is classed as term and has been given an eviction notice! Grin

OP posts:
CumbrianExile · 08/08/2014 08:37

ILove I am pleased you have made it to term after all the scares earlier on!

I too keep getting the bump comments. Or people staring at me going 'Aw'. But not actually talking to me, or if they do asking how long I have left. I have starting answering now with 'Too Long' and walking off Grin

ilovemonstersinc · 08/08/2014 09:16

Thank you cumbrian Flowers if I'm honest I didn't think I would make it to term.

I get a lot of when are you due I just say oh any time soon and they leave it at that lol

holls2000 · 08/08/2014 09:20

ilove - hurray!!!!! 37 weeks must be such a good feeling. Smile

misog2000 · 08/08/2014 09:45

I'm in the maternity assessment unit for reduced movement ATM. Typically since I have been sitting in the waiting area the baby has wriggled around a little bit but figure it's better to get checked now I'm here.

holls2000 · 08/08/2014 09:58

Misog - hope all ok. I went to mw this am cos baby had been quiet yesterday. Little bugger woke up the minute I got in there! Do you think this is their way of preparing us for a life time of worry?

Have been referred to physio for sore back, numb hips, numb bum, hurty bump...now whether that will happen pre baby arriving remains to be seen. But worth a try!

xxmissbrightsidexx · 08/08/2014 10:04

Need to rant & can't do it on facebook because of prying eyes. Sorry ladies.

So for the last month or 2, OH's mum has said she's coming over here with OH's 2 brothers to stay for about a week. I don't grudge them coming over as we live quite far away from all the family now & have nobody over here. It was supposed to be yesterday that she came over, but she had to postpone until today. She messaged OH yesterday saying she now can't come over as the person that was supposed to be giving her a lift has said their car is broken. & there's nobody else that can give them a lift over here. I said to OH last night, don't even think about saying we'll lend them money to get over here as we can't afford it, it pissed me off enough yesterday when he lent his dad £80 out of the rent money so his dad could go out round town (rent which was due yesterday & now the landlord has reason to be pissed off cos we're now late paying it) I knew his mum was going to ask, but she's known for long enough that she was coming over here, so she should have budgeted some money aside for train fare (she gets plenty of money, but it goes on shit). Woke up this morning to a whatsapp message, it was a voice note from OH's younger brother, basically pleading down the phone for us to lend the money so they could get over here (he'd obviously been made to do it by his mum). It's really pissed me off! My OH is a soft touch, his mum knows that, & always uses it to her advantage. I hate seeing him walked all over! She's quite sly sometimes, & knows if she gets the kids involved it's hard for him to say no. I'm really holding my tongue, as I'm annoyed enough as it is. Thing is, she's going to be coming back in September near my due date, to be here 'just in case', to watch my 2 boys. She'll be bringing the 2 brothers again no doubt, the youngest is bloody naughty, and they'll be here for god knows how long after the baby is born. Meaning no peace, no bonding time, but a constant mad house :( Can't bloody wait :/

Got an argument brewing with my own mum too but that's a whole other story.

Grrrrrr!! Sorry again ladies I just needed to get it out lol x

BooSurprise · 08/08/2014 10:10

I'm sure we all want the opposite sometimes, I wish I could have a low risk pregnancy, no extra appts, scans etc and the prospect of a normal natural birth, but that's not going to happen for me, although the extra appts/scans still only do reassure for that moment in time, and things have the potential to change so quickly anyway.
On the upside the girls bedroom is almost finished, and I built the changing unit yesterday, it's an East Coast one, never before have I put together something so overly complicated for what it is, and given that it was 3 times the cost of our ikea furniture, it's def not 3times the quality, I'm going to stick with nice and cheap and easy from ikea from now on!
Can anyone recommend a baby monitor? We have a bt one at the end of its life, but the newer ones don't get great reviews, what has everyone else got?
