Hi,

I've finally got my BFP and want to find others who want to chat and eat cake whilst being excited about cooking our little dragons.

I am 31yrs old, just got my BFP for #2.

Come in and sit down for the next nerve racking 9 months :)

Hello! Smile

Please can I join? I think I'm around 6 or 7 weeks pregnant.

I'm 31 and my fiancé is 36. We live in West Sussex. This is our first pregnancy and we have no idea what to expect.

We got engaged in June and set our wedding for September 2015. This was before we had any idea we were pregnant. So the wedding is all booked and I think we're going to continue with it.

We only found out we were pregnant on Friday 1st August after I'd been poorly for a few days.

We had been trying for a couple of years so obviously whilst it's a bit of a shock and does throw out our wedding planning a little, we are overjoyed.

So far I've done 5 pregnancy tests (including 2 x Clear Blue Digital tests), all positive, and been to my GP yesterday morning who has referred me to our local hospital for a dating scan - just waiting for them to call me.

RiverRocks · 05/08/2014 09:18

Morning all, welcome to the newbies.

Smiley I was pg when I got married but didn't know at the time. We got married away and have the reception 2 weeks on Saturday, so hoping my dress still fits - I daren't try it on! Luckily it's a corset back, so I should be able to loosen it a bit Confused. I've been looking at tips for hiding it, and what people have said is carry round a half empty glass of wine/champagne. It needs to have enough out of it so people think you are drinking it, but enough left that they won't offer to buy you another. Plus every wedding I've ever been to, the bride never knows where her drink is anyway, so 'losing' it is another option.

I'm another one who's starting to get nausea, which I didn't have with my mmc, so fingers crossed this one sticks. I just have some dry bread or similar when I wake up, and boiled sweets to suck when driving, and it's manageable so far.

Fingers crossed for a productive day for you today, dances. If it were me, I would spend the day in bed so I'm very impressed with your motivation Grin

ChickenMe · 05/08/2014 09:23

Hi I would like to join. I'm just over 5 weeks and have never been preg before! I'm in my late 30s and still can't believe my luck as you constantly hear that you've got no chance after 35. I've had to tell my work as well for same reasons as Cisforcat. They were lovely but I'm really fortunate as work on a small team and the boss is a top guy.

Who have you all told? Has it been hard disguising it?

Had a bit of nausea and massively reduced appetite. I was not prepared for the fatigue-I'm usually quite resilient as used to working shifts, going to the gym etc.But last week was very hard - no one told me I'd feel like crying with the tiredness!

Also, got a really sore throat in the morning - anyone else?
:)

bluefreckles · 05/08/2014 09:29

We've just told our parents and my sister. All are overjoyed.

Not sure when to tell work. Had to take today off sick due to being incredibly uncomfortable. Hugely bloated and have aching back. Also feel SO tired and quite tearful. That could be down to lack of decent sleep though...

Cassieyellow · 05/08/2014 09:41

Hi new people. Random comment for blue freckles - we moved from West Sussex/Hants border last year and still miss it! Ahhhh.
I am a bit worried as symptoms haven't really kicked in yet but should make most of it I guess!

dancestomyowntune · 05/08/2014 09:56

riverocks my house literally looks like a bomb has exploded! it depresses me when its a huge mess so although I would rather have a day in bed if i dont tidy up i know i'll feel even worse! Sad

lozzg82 · 05/08/2014 10:31

I have just contacted the midwife and booked my first appointment for 26th August :-) feels like ages away. I just hope everything sticks. It's my mums birthday that weekend, so think I will give her a nice birthday surprise and tell her the news then. I'm a bit scared to tell anyone too early.

bluefreckles · 05/08/2014 10:32

cassie we do love West Sussex. We are down on the coast.

bluefreckles · 05/08/2014 10:37

I have to wait for my GP to refer me to the hospital and for them to ring me to book in my dating scan. Can I ring them direct instead of waiting?

Well my GP did nothing apart from supply me with an out of date phone number for a local midwife for me to call and register myself. 4 calls later I finally got hold of the midwife (who was lovely) who booked me in for when I am 8 weeks for an appointment she said would be a lot of medical history taking and last about an hour. I am in berkshire - not sure if this is the same everywhere.

RiverRocks · 05/08/2014 12:01

lozzg82 that sounds about right. You'll get a form through to fill in which will take ages and then at the appointment they go through it with you and enter everything on the system.

Spoken to my GP this morning. I registered the pregnancy and asked for an early scan as I'd had a mmc before I'd even had my booking appointment last time. Our local EPU don't do reassurance scans, but will scan if there is a problem, so I have an appointment booked tomorrow to investigate my 'abdominal cramps'. It will be internal as it's so early, but this doesn't bother me.

dancestomyowntune · 05/08/2014 12:27

Glad your scan went well Misty, lovely to see that little bean on the screen Ian' t it? I'm looking forward to mine next week!

BrixtonBunny · 05/08/2014 13:56

Argh I'm sitting in the EPU as suddenly got really bad cramps at work. They're subsiding a bit but I'm a bit freaked out, can't wait to speak to someone to see if I'm ok Sad

Cassieyellow · 05/08/2014 14:14

Oh god what a roller coaster. Everything crossed Brixton.

Great report back from you, misty.

Interesting how different areas do things differently. Where I used to live it was via hospital but here midwife is at GP's. I moved when I was 7 months pregnant and had to almost start all over again with a new booking in appt, notes everything! Just a warning if anyone thinks they are moving far.

dancestomyowntune · 05/08/2014 14:15

Don't panic Brixton

Hopefully you'll get some news soon.

BrixtonBunny · 05/08/2014 14:18

Thanks ladies - hoping it will be ok but thought it better to get them to check me over (if only for my own peace of mind) they just came out of the blue and were so painful xx

roastpots · 05/08/2014 14:25

Great to hear about your scan misty - it's amazing to think our little beans have a heartbeat already!

Hope you're OK brixton

BrixtonBunny · 05/08/2014 14:28

BrixtonBunny · 05/08/2014 14:45

They are going to scan me. Desperately wishing DP was with me right now in case it's bad news...

cinnamongreyhound · 05/08/2014 15:12

Congrats Bluefreckles and ChickenMe!

My drs is the same BlueFreckles but it doesn't take long. The midwives will see you at your gp surgery so I guess it makes it easier to group patients together.

Great news Misty414!!

With both of mine I didn't get that huge form in advance RiverRocks! Had to do it with the midwife so booking appt was very long, especially as my midwife liked to chat. I think she's retired now :(

Thinking of you BrixtonBunny Thanks

BrixtonBunny · 05/08/2014 15:24

Ok... That was amazingly quick! They scanned me and all looks normal, tiny blob in the right place in womb, no cysts or anything. Couldn't explain the pain. There wasn't much they could see as they think I'm less than 5 weeks (sounds about right as did another digi and still says 2-3) but I've got another appointment in 8 days to have another scan to check all is progressing correctly. Will definitely bring DP this time! Fx next week will show normal progression...

Gosh this baby growing is a stressful business!

cinnamongreyhound · 05/08/2014 15:30

Good news BrixtonBunny! Nice that they took you seriously though :)

BrixtonBunny · 05/08/2014 15:35

So nice cinnamon - went to St Thomas's and I'd really recommend going to anyone who lives in London and suddenly gets symptoms, they were really kind x

catellington · 05/08/2014 15:44

Brixton, glad that you were reassured, hope all is well next week. I am finding it all very stressful, I am worrying constantly and almost expecting it all to go wrong - still no morning sickness here, but have definitely had tiredness, falling asleep in the day, but not sure if that is because of my pregnancy worrying at night! In my first pregnancy the dead cert symptom was boob soreness but I haven't had any this time, but I am still nursing my 16 month old so I've probably been dismissing any pain as due to her teething.

Hi to all the newbies, how exciting! I could never find a thread for my last due date (March 2013) so it is great to be able to mull it all over with you all!
