Hi,

I've finally got my BFP and want to find others who want to chat and eat cake whilst being excited about cooking our little dragons.

I am 31yrs old, just got my BFP for #2.

Come in and sit down for the next nerve racking 9 months :)

I've just filled in my form so midwife should be in touch soon and the receptionist said congratulations which made me flinch, strangely!

ladyflower23 · 04/08/2014 18:32

That sounds really positive dances glad to hear all heading in the right direction Smile
I've got my first contact appt on Monday with midwife so looking forward to getting the ball rolling. So tempted by an early scan but telling myself waste of money when I have no real reason to suspect anything wrong. Just my paranoia. Plus I think they do fanny cam before 8 weeks which I'd rather not have if not necessary and then it's only 4 more weeks to wait till the free one (although I do realise those 4 weeks will drag like an eternity).

BrixtonBunny · 04/08/2014 18:57

So glad you're feeling more positive dances!

My midwife appointment isn't until the 12th September, and my scan isn't until the 29th (Hmm), so we're thinking of getting a private scan just to have as milestone in August to get past. We're going on holiday on the 23rd so was thinking of getting one on the 21st just to see how it's all looking... Xx

dancestomyowntune · 04/08/2014 19:21

i probably would have booked a private scan if i wasn't having the early one next week. i know its a lot of money but the reassurance would have been worth it. expecting next weeks scan to be transvaginal, but had them before so not too put off by that. just seeing my little bean will be so worth it!

i know its way to early but started a baby wishlist on amazon today. going to need to start saving i think! Grin

scratchandsniff · 04/08/2014 19:23

Hello, do you mind if I join? Just got bfp this morning. Will be DC2, DS is 21mths, I'm 33. Feeling a jumble of mixed emotions. We weren't even really trying although we've always said we wanted DS to have a sibling. Took about a year to conceive DS but this time it took only once, first shag in ages too, normally careful. So I'm feeling pretty shocked. Haven't even told DH yet. I'm worried he won't be that pleased, he's not really liking his job at the moment and ideally would like to go self-employed, but don't think that's feasible with another baby on the way.

Anyway, I guess I just need a few days to get my head around it.

When I was expecting DS I followed the antenatal thread at the time but never joined in and regretted it. So, thought I'd jump on in this time.

BrixtonBunny · 04/08/2014 19:32

Congrats (I think!?) scratch... You can talk to us until you talk to DH! I'm sure he'll be delighted once he finds out, and that sounds like a lovely age gap. Xxx Thanks

roastpots · 04/08/2014 19:59

Welcome scratch - I fell pregnant this time under similar circumstances (surprisingly quickly, we weren't really trying and last time it took quite a while). I spent the whole evening after I found out crying and saying "I'm not ready" repeatedly! But 10 days later and I'm in a totally different place - I've really got my head around it and although I'm still petrified by the idea of two I'm also starting to get a bit excited (reading mumsnet baby names threads even!) I hope that you start to feel a bit calmer about it and that you have a good conversation with your DH soon.

scratchandsniff · 04/08/2014 20:56

Thanks Brixton and roast

Well I told DH not long after he got in. Felt so on edge about it that I had to get on and tell him. He's shocked but seems pleased. We both agreed that there is never a 'perfect' time to have a baby and we had always thought we would like to have one more. Just happened a lot quicker than we expected.

Maybe it is exactly because we weren't trying that its happened. Last time we made a conscious decision and as much as I tried to be chilled about it, it was all I could think about. At least we haven't got to go through all that again.

I need to read the thread properly and catch up with who's who so to speak.

cinnamongreyhound · 04/08/2014 21:08

Hi scratchandsniff, glad dh took it well. My dad phoned tonight to say congratulations and asked of dh was pleased I said thought so and he actually said he was excited, that's the first time he's said it! I know he's had this one because I want it, he's 48 and has three (I only have two both with him) and we are struggling financially so he's being sensible and I'm being driven by my hormones!!

Cisforcat · 04/08/2014 21:18

Hi all , and welcome to new passengers!

So- 2nd week back at work and today I told my boss that I'm pregnant again. As I've mentioned I have to tell them ASAP so I had no choice but was really worried. I thought coming back off maternity leave pregnant would be enough to give work the hump but my boss was really lovely and supportive. I feel SO much better now I've got it out the way as it was stressing me a bit.

I've had a rotten cold all weekend and have felt pretty rubbish, only to find my morning sickness started yesterday just to add insult to injury. My god- I never got any with DD and it's awful already. I've literally felt sick constantly the last two days and have been gagging left right and centre.
I've heard b6 is good to help with it- anyone also heard that or got experience?
I'm 5+5 today so wasn't expecting to feel like this already?!

Glad you got your scan date dance- that's good news and a milestone which is good.
Hope everyone else Is ok!

AmIIndecisive · 04/08/2014 21:18

Hi all, ok so am at that point where I am excited but trying not be excited or get carried away as it's way way too early Child no 3 (am I mad?) expected all being well April 3rd. Sore boobs very tired but nothing else (and yes am already massively gaining weight). Done 5 tests so far and all good - big cheer for the pound shop. Congrats to all x

scratchandsniff · 04/08/2014 21:24

Think I've caught up. I'm sorry to those who have had losses, and hope that it happens again for you soon.

I remember the first 12 weeks last time feeling like they went on forever. I'm hoping that this time I'll be so busy with DS that they'll fly by. Hoping to keep it to ourselves longer this time, but last time I had bad MS from about 8 weeks so had to tell work and friends as I couldn't hide how shit I felt.

Still can't believe I'm pregnant!

scratchandsniff · 04/08/2014 21:27

Cisforcat those sickness wrist bands helped me a bit. Crackers on standby, as I found hunger made me feel so much worse. Last time I used to get it really bad from about 2 in the morning until midmorning, think I'll cry if its like that again.

cinnamongreyhound · 04/08/2014 21:31

Sorry Cisforcat I found eating tiny bits of cheese or crackers stopped me vomiting but the actually nausea was constant from 5 weeks to 13 weeks with ds1 :( I did find swimming eased it in the evening but couldn't have attempted anything like that in the morning. I kept my toothbrush at work as I had no chance of putting anything in my mouth before 10am. Wasn't quite as bad with ds2 but lasted longer. By my calculations I'll be 5weeks weds so I'll see then!

cinnamongreyhound · 04/08/2014 21:32

I didn't try b6 though but ginger didn't make a difference.

BrixtonBunny · 04/08/2014 21:34

Has anyone noticed their hair getting greasier? Just me...? Hmm

cinnamongreyhound · 04/08/2014 21:37

Happened to me with ds2 BrixtonBunny, mine was greasy straight after washing for first trimester. My hairdresser recommended dry shampoo and it worked pretty well :)

Cassieyellow · 04/08/2014 22:40

Evening everyone. Good news, dances.
Scratch - I was the same last time, followed a thread but didn't actually join in. I am trying this time, but it's hard to keep up. But I love talking to people in the same boat.
Still not got much going on symptom wise...although my Grandma rang up today asking if I could help treat a massive boil on the middle of her back.....that made me very nauseous and tomorrow I may have to face the boil head on!!! Sorry to share ladies! Urgh!
Someone was saying they are getting married next week?! I bet the adrenaline will keep you going, so don't worry. But drink lots, that's my advice. (Of water! )

Smileyaxolotl1 · 04/08/2014 23:37

Thank you cassie (that was me). Just feels very unreal at the moment. Am definitely trying to drink more water already and will continue. Good luck with the boil....

Cassieyellow · 05/08/2014 06:29

Ok great, I mean drink on the day too. I had a massive headache by time sat down for dinner, (well wedding breakfast) so with being preg on top I would just make sure you do as SO easy not to weirdly! It'll all be fab and probably still won't have sunk in! I have a 9 month old and still can't quite believe it, ha ha!

dancestomyowntune · 05/08/2014 07:11

Congrats to newbies!

Well, I have got up this morning feeling really sick. I can wait until my scan next week because we don't really know how far along I am. The sickness is making me think it could be further than we are working on! Because I got pregnant the month we had the coil removed I haven't had af, and have no idea when I ovulated.

I don't really remember feeling this bad, so early with any of the others. I know it's a good sign of a sticky bean but my God! It's hard work with four kids on summer hols!

With regards to greasy hair, yes! Mine is horrid. I am hoping it settles down soon because it feels awful.

Also I found out I was pregnant a few days after getting married. We had put the lack f af and symptoms down to wedding stress. When I picked my dress up my mum had to move the hook and eye because my boobs didn't fit! Luckily I am not a heavy drinker and I think I only had two glasses of bubbly on the day so no major boozy wedding night for me.

Today I will be mainly trying to tidy my house. In between bouts of morning sickness. Today is the first day I have been home all day in about two weeks! I'm hoping to get lots done!

ladyflower23 · 05/08/2014 08:47

I've got the greasy hair thing too. Also shedding loads from stopping the pill so looking forward to the bit where your hair stops falling out. Am still feeling sick in the mornings but not too bad. Only thing is I need to go food shopping and every time I try and think of what to cook for dinner I feel like puking. Not sure what we''ll end up with tonight.
Brixton bunny understand why you want reasurerance scan before hol. I would prob get one then too. Unfortunately I'm not going anywhere!

Smileyaxolotl1 · 05/08/2014 08:50

Good luck with the tidying dances - It must be so tricky for current mums as well as people who are working full time. Way too much to think about. I am off for the school holidays so can relax a bit. X

Smileyaxolotl1 · 05/08/2014 08:51

And thanks cassie - will try to drink lots all day.

dancestomyowntune · 05/08/2014 09:01
