I have had increased discharge and intermittent itching but it's never got bad. My midwife said stay away from sugar and mushrooms and eat lots of live yogurt. Seems to be working. Ask DP if he's had any symptoms too as there's no point clearing yours up then DTD and him giving it back to you.

With regards prenatal classes on 16 week appointment my MW gave me telephone number to call arrange the NHS classes. When I called they asked for the due date and then accordingly scheduled us for September, there will be about 4 evenings all together.
Also have signed up for hypnobirth classes which will be in August, also 4 evenings.

pinkgirlythoughts · 28/07/2014 19:47

I'll be doing the NHS prenatal class, it's just a one-off four hour session on a Saturday morning, and they do a tour of the labour ward afterwards for those who are interested. I went on my own last time, as DH was at work. I was the only one who didn't have anyone with them, but it really was fine!

Hopeful its much more likely its just the massively increased cervical mucus we all have. Its to prevent against infection during pregnancy.

And step away from Dr. Google! Grin

FTMK · 28/07/2014 19:51

Don't be embarrassed Hopeful - if it is it's just linked to hormones. I've had increased discharge - i.e. Needing panty liner every day and sometimes soaking through. Putting it down to pregnancy as per what Google says. Prior to pregnancy I was an on and off thrush sufferer and had it early on in this pregnancy. I'd say that the itching would be continuous and would get worse if it was still thrush down there. Might be oral thrush though - it sounds like what a friend had when she was on steroid sprays for a chest problem. See what midwife says but good advice on live yoghurt and getting OH cleared up at same time. Thanks

Don't worry about sounding desperate ftmk, we're doing the nct refresher course despite ds only being 19 months old (22 by the time it's born, for exactly that reason as we moved area completely from Manchester to London between them and I'm also worried that everyone on the refresher will have a big gap between dc compared to us. I really appreciated the nct group in the months after ds was born though, I'd love to find some similar friends in rl for the hardcore first few months (and longer, ideally!)

This is just an observation....prune juice. Tastes revolting; "works" REALLY well Grin

Petal26 · 28/07/2014 23:12

Thanks greenstone, proud mummy in this house :-)

Haven't signed up for any classes, been researching hypnobirthing classes today but don't have the funds for that.
Midwife hasn't mentioned the NHS ones but then again I haven't seen her for 9 weeks and still have another 3 to go before i see her so she might do then! It seems like such a long time between appointments just because it's not baby number one...

Alita7 · 29/07/2014 00:11

Moggle my nct ones finish beginning of October. I think you'll be ok though!

amy83firsttimer · 29/07/2014 07:20

Had some horrible news yesterday. My friend who had the baby shower on Saturday has lost her baby at 33 weeks. Don't know details but very very upsetting.

utopian99 · 29/07/2014 07:23

Oh god amy that's awful. Your poor poor friend.

pinkgirlythoughts · 29/07/2014 07:28

Petal, do you have a pregnancy yoga class near you? The lady I've started going to uses a hypnobirthing CD at the end of the sessions during 'relaxation time.' Might be more affordable for you than proper classes? (I'm like you, was interested in doing hypnobirthing but just don't have the money available for them!)

pinkgirlythoughts · 29/07/2014 07:29

Oh no, Amy, terrible news. How sad :(

amy83firsttimer · 29/07/2014 07:40

I've known her since we were 3 and we were born on the same day so very upsetting, can't stop crying and trying to make my bean wriggle to put my mind at rest. Can't imagine how hard it'll be for her when hopefully I take a healthy baby home.

AnnaBananaBoo · 29/07/2014 07:44

I'm so sorry to hear that, how heartbreakingly sad :-(

Miskate · 29/07/2014 08:38

Oh God Amy that's awful.

bunnykitten · 29/07/2014 09:09

How awful for your friend Amy . So so sad.

Annarose2014 · 29/07/2014 09:36

amy thats my worst fear, so close to the end. God help her.

flowersinthegarden · 29/07/2014 09:41

Oh Amy that is so very sad, hearing things like that make me cherish my wriggling little bump even more. Sad

ladydolly · 29/07/2014 10:53

Oh Amy your poor friend and poor you. It'll be hard for both of you over the next few months. I worked with a lady who lost her baby at almost full term, the sadness was felt by everyone but when she went on to have a healthy baby the following year the joy felt for her was incredible. Thinking of you both. xx

Alita7 · 29/07/2014 10:54

Oh Amy that's so sad! xxx

Alita7 · 29/07/2014 10:56

It's going to be really hard for you both, you must be scared now it's happened so close to home and she may find it hard seeing you have a healthy baby when those babies should have grown up together :( I hope she takes some comfort in your baby being around rather than it hurting her.

Petal26 · 29/07/2014 11:02

Amy that's so sad :-( x

FTMK · 29/07/2014 12:47

Amy83 thinking of you and your friend. Devastating for her and sad and difficult for you to navigate. Sending virtual support and Thanks

Hopeful83 · 29/07/2014 13:01

Amy how awful. I can't imagine what she's going through. Very difficult for you too. So sad xx
