Ooh, very exciting regular, at least it's nice and early. Hope you get some good pics and all is well.

Penguin13 · 28/07/2014 22:11

Good luck for tomorrow Regular we'll be thinking of you. Enjoy seeing your baby again Smile.

Hi Engels welcome back. Nice to see you again. Hope you had a fab break.

CallingAllEngels · 29/07/2014 08:18

Good luck today regular

Was lovely thanks penguin . Was so relaxing just to get away from my cluttered house and garden!

DrFunkesFamilyBandSolution · 29/07/2014 10:02

Hope all went well regular. X

CakesALot · 29/07/2014 10:20

Hope it's all gone well this morning, regular!

Welcome back, Calling, glad you had a good break Smile

regularbutpanickingabit · 29/07/2014 11:55

Thanks guys. All went well, everything measuring as it should be and looking good. So pleased! Have some pics to share with the kids tonight.
Off on holiday tomorrow and cannot wait!

CoventGarden75 · 29/07/2014 13:08

Brilliant news regular Smile

CakesALot · 29/07/2014 13:16

Fab news!

I'm very jealous of all these holidays! Mine seems like an age ago already! And work is really rather dull at the moment and I'm a right moody cow and could do with nice relaxing week on a beach to read books and sip ice cold beer nice mocktails. I think DH would happily send me holiday if it means I wouldn't be moaning at him all day long! But what does he expect when he can't understand my every need and the reasons why I'm so irritable?!

CoventGarden75 · 29/07/2014 14:09

I want a holiday too!

regular I forgot to ask: pink, blue or yellow?

Mn is organising an event in London on 27 sept. They've posted it on the main thread last week link is anyone interested in going? there is a 33% discount if 3 people book at once before 2 Aug.

A mosquito has ruined by sleep last night Hmm

basgetti · 29/07/2014 14:53

Great news regular x

Hope everyone is doing well.

Sorry I've not been on here much lately, things not been great. Been on yet more meds (the last option I can try!) and they've affected my bowel quite badly and I have a history of obstruction so not too good. Currently treading a fine balance between trying to stay out of hospital, and manage the horrible side effects.

DP starts new job next week, I've got a bit reliant on him as he's had last few weeks at home and has basically done everything. I think DS and I will be having a fair few 'movie days' at home with a packed lunch that DP makes before he leaves each day!

Scan next week, I'm getting lots of movement now, amazed the poor thing seems to be doing so well despite the lack of nutrition and all the drugs!

CakesALot · 29/07/2014 16:15

oh basgetti, I feel for you! Can't believe you're still battling. I'm having a 'can't poo' flare up and have been feeling sorry for myself, but sounds like you're having a horrible tome. Movie days sound the most sensible option. Great you're feeling lots of movement though - I'm getting quite a lot myself now, I spent a good half hour bump gazing today - yes, work is that dull - and saw quite a few prods and pokes as well as felt them. Hate to say it but they freak me out quite a bit, if I think too long about the fact that is a human being inside me doing that...freaked...but wonderful that she's having a little party in there!

Penguin13 · 29/07/2014 18:04

Great news Regular. Like Covent I am wondering : pink, blue or yellow? Smile.

Covent I would have loved to gone to Bumpfest but I'm unfortunately at baby classes all day that sat. Can't believe I was organised enough to book this far in advance but the classes are pretty popular and H and I are about as clueless as you can get when it comes to looking after a newborn baby!

Great you're feeling lots of movement Basgetti. So sorry you're still having a hard time though. You are proper hardcore managing all this with a DS already in tow and movie days sounds like a most excellent plan I have nothing wrong with me but now want a movie day.

I can't believe how quickly movement has gone from 'hmmmmm that MIGHT be a nudge....maybe' to full on dance party in my belly! It's definitely weird but I love it. Haven't actually seen any prods but definitely feeling them.

How's everyone else finding travelling to work? Not sure if it's just that the central line folks are extra nice but I don't even wear my badge (too self-conscious) and people nearly always offer me a seat and often are so lovely it makes me want to cry just thinking about it. I'm definitely, sniff, not, sniff, that pathetic though Blush.

How are you doing Strawbs? Sending you and your cervix some positive vibes! (adding that to my list of sentences I never thought I'd write pre MN!)

regularbutpanickingabit · 29/07/2014 18:26

Basgetti that sounds horrendous. Do whatever you need to just to get through the days. You poor thing.

We are team yellow I'm afraid! Didn't find out with the others so it feels weird to do so those time. Might change our minds later on but at the moment we are opting for a surprise!

Penguin13 · 31/07/2014 07:50

We're team yellow too Regular. That makes three of us I think - maths never a strong point! Smile

I have the day off today (decided that despite cancelled driving test could do with some rest) and getting my hair cut for the first time since um....October last year Blush. At least motherhood won't destroy my perfectly groomed routine since I never had one!

How's everyone doing this week? Hoping a quiet thread is a good sign that you're all out enjoying the sunshine.

CakesALot · 31/07/2014 08:52

Enjoy your day off, Penguin! I always lie to the hairdressers about when I last got a cut, I'm always so embarrassed about the truth!

I randomly threw up this morning. That's three times now. Can't work out why, and I always feel fine afterwards. Guess it's just my body saying 'no thanks' to whatever I'm shovelling in at the time! I wanted a pile of buttery marmite toast, but opted for healthy fruit and fat free yoghurt...which came straight back up again. Should've gone with the toast Grin

CoventGarden75 · 31/07/2014 14:08

Oh no cakes and basgetti that doesn't sound like you're having a good time! Look after yourselves.

penguin enjoy you're day off, and I can't believe how organised you are. I'm not usually too bad at it but I've left everything hanging as I still having trouble believing we're having a baby. 21w today and according to baby size chart, she's 26.7cm, I got the ruler out and presented it on my belly, surely this doesn't fit Shock

I've had a not so good week with everything going wrong, crazy busy at work so haven't managed a lunch break this week yet, and insomnia has returned. I'm shattered and can't wait for the weekend.

Penguin13 · 01/08/2014 11:30

Hope your random puking was an isolated incident Cakes. Always have the buttery marmite toast! Mmmmmmm marmite.

Had a good day yesterday though not as restful as I'd planned but managed to fit in thr haircut, driving lesson, eye test, eating my own bodyweight in naughty treats and picking up my MATB1 as my midwife is on hol for 2 weeks when I am due my 28 week appointment . Ooh and I started an exciting re-fashion of an oversized men's shirt into a sleeveless empire waist maternity top. Been meaning to try it for ages after I pinned it in my previous pregnancy and I love an excuse to get the sewing machine out.

Do any of you know when we should be feeling regular patterns of movement? Just noticed that mini penguin was not flapping around as much as usual yesterday although that could be because I was out of my normal routine so was walking about a lot more. Getting a few of the usual wriggles sat at my desk today so not too concerned but was just wondering.

Covent I think it's 26.7 cm crown to heel but I guess that would be curled up rather than in a straight line otherwise yes it would be getting mighty cramped!

As far as being organised, we still haven't actually bought anything for when the baby arrives so we're not exactly all over it Smile

CoventGarden75 · 01/08/2014 14:20

Ohhh thanks for reminding me about MATB1 penguin, work asked for it last week and I had totally forgotten. Good to hear you had a productive day.

Yay, baby is in a little ball and there 10 cm of legs, but still 27cm Grin, it's amazing, I'm worried I'll get claustrophobic for her at some point Wink

Same here, nothing bought for baby's arrival yet, but got an amazing maternity pillow delivered a couple of days ago, not cheap but my friend had one and looked so happy with it that I couldn't resist, it's so comfy at night now Smile

CoventGarden75 · 01/08/2014 14:24

Oops forgot to say, no idea about pattern of movement, still can't feel anything for sure here.

PresidentSpreadable · 01/08/2014 16:05

I've bought bugger all, just a very cute tiny hat and a second hand travel system from eBay, and been given a Moby wrap. I can't let myself go mad yet, although I was looking at multipacks of sleepsuits and muslins earlier and thinking that I should probably start buying a few bits and bobs.

My good news is that my GTT (which was done earlier due to my initial blood test results) has come back absolutely fine, so I'm definitely going back to midwife led care. Can't believe that so far I'm dodging all the doomy predictions based on my age and bmi. I celebrated with a tiny pot of salted caramel ice cream, yum.

I've got no pattern of movement either, baby seems determined to stay feet down, all the kicks are deep in my pelvis, although getting stronger. I would quite like it to turn around so I can feel more.

MrsFtn · 01/08/2014 20:09

Just been catching up with all the news. DD has been ill, work has been manic and we're right in the middle of wedding season - got another one tomorrow so haven't had much time to catch up lately. Spent a long time in Kiddicare today checking out the closing down sale. Spent nearly £200!

Finally feeling lots of movement now despite anterior placenta. DD and DH have also felt it too which is lovely- the cat is not so impressed at being kicked when she's sat on my lap though!

Basgetti I'm so sorry to hear pregnancy still isn't agreeing with you. Nearly halfway there now though so hope you are seeing a glimmer of light at the end of the tunnel

penguin hope you had a good day off. I think you did the right thing about your test if you really feel you weren't ready. It took me 3 goes and I got so stressed out with it. I can't imagine doing it while pregnant! Getting lots of practise and building confidence will benefit you more than stressing out!

regular congrats on team yellow and a good scan

cakes sorry to hear about random sickness

covent hope you get plenty of rest this weekend after a hard week. Hopefully now it's a bit cooler you can sleep better

president great news on GTT result. Will they test again later in pregnancy or is that it now?

Sorry I haven't mentioned everyone - had a lot to catch up on! Hope you all have a great weekend

FranksBobot · 01/08/2014 21:14

Evening ladies! Sorry I haven't been around, we decided on a last minute escape for a few days and had very limited internet connection! Was lovely to have some new scenery and much needed family time.

Strawbs I so pleased all is well with your little boy. What a lovely picture. I hope you are still taking it nice and easy. Please try not to worry about your cervix measurement. 2.8mm is still a good length.

Penguin I think postponing your driving test was definitely the best option for you. There really is no rush and you and mini penguin do not need the extra stress.

President Glad your throat is feeling better! That must have been awful.

Welcome back Calling hope you had a lovely holiday.

Basgetti so sorry you are still battling with illness. Nobody likes being in hospital but try not to be too stubborn, if you need to go you need to go!

Cakes don't worry about being freaked out. I remember feeling sick every-time with DD. Thankfully this time i'm not as bad. The little bugger beaut is still abusing my section scar though so it is super painful.

Regular Pleased all went well at your scan.

Hope your DD is feeling better MrsFTN How old is she? My DD has felt kicks now to, she thinks they are great!

So far we have bought, some cute little socks, a blanket and a car seat! Random selection but they were bargains and too good to miss.
As for movement patterns, I'm not entirely sure. It may be pure coincidence but mini frank seems to kick around lunch time for a few minutes and then goes ballistic in the evenings. I reckon he/she is going to be either very big or very strong (hopefully not both) as a lot of movements are now visable and seem super strong.

Penguin13 · 03/08/2014 09:44

Ooh President what travel system did you buy? I have made the mistake of looking at online reviews which has just confused me more than anything as for every single one there will ve people saying it's the best thing since sliced bread but then at least one review saying 'my dd's finger got trapped in the mechanism' or 'it tipped up going up the kerb and nearly killed DS' Not sure if it's one of those things like TripAdvisor where you have to discount the top and bottom reviews to get a reasonable average! I would be feeling super organised if I had got any one out of somewhere for baby to sleep/car seat/transport!

Really great news about your GTT result! Now I want salted caramel icecream though Grin.

Driving lesson with DH in the back was a success minus a small being in wrong gear turning onto massive hill incident and a wrongly assuming someone signalling left means they are actually turning left incident! I feel a lot better without an unrealistic deadline hanging over me.

Hope you enjoyed the wedding Mrs and that DD us fully recovered.

FranksBobot · 03/08/2014 10:45

Penguin when pregnant with Dd and looking at prams etc I also got totally confused by reviews so in the end I ignored them all went to mothercare, babies r us etc and looked like crazy lady pushing different ones around the store, folding them up, trying all the different bits and pieces!
I'll be doing it again this time as it was a great way of getting a feel for each one.
I need something a lot smaller this time though due to tiny car and also would quite like the parent facing option. There was no such thing when Dd was little!

PresidentSpreadable · 03/08/2014 10:59

Oh I'm glad the driving is going better without the stress of the test hanging over you Penguin.

Sorry that you're still having a tough time Basgetti, I hope it improves soon.

I'll have another GTT at 28 weeks MrsFtn, but I think if that shows anything up I can cope for the final stretch. Hope the wedding was good.

We got an Uppababy Cruz Penguin, we're fairly limited in choice as we're in London and I'll use public transport regularly, so it's compact but it also has loads of storage space (my two must haves) It was either this or the rather ubiquitous Bugaboo Bee. I like the Bee, but not the price, and pretty much everyone in our neck of the woods has one! We'll possibly replace with a Baby Jogger City Mini at some point so that MrPres can take the baby running.

Bit of a weird morning, spoke to my mum, only for her to tell me that it looks like she's got breast cancer. Not great timing really, very glad she told me though as she and my dad are very stiff upper lip normally and obviously don't want me worrying. I'm sure she'll be fine, and I work in a cancer related job so I'm feeling fairly calm, but still a bit of a shock. Sad
