Ooh yay my plug is coming away! Never been so excited to see something so gross.. Not that it may mean much of course!

Penguin13 · 28/11/2014 14:34

Exciting signs strawbs!! You could be beating me to the first thread baby spot as I don't even have a sweep booked till next Thurs and I've had zero signs so far.....I am fully committed to evicting this baby though and Mr Penguin has ahem played his part admirably despite risking crush injuries owing to my massive bulk Grin

Getting a bit fed up of walking being so painful. It's been bad since end of sept but have had a niggly cough for a few weeks which seems to have put even more strain on everything. Feels like I have been booted hard in the fanjo! Tmi soz! Still, not long to go now and it will all be worth it.

Found out yesterday that my mat cover is getting fired Confused oh dear! Torn between feeling for my colleagues and really glad am not in the office! I did miss out on meeting Alan Rickman and Jon Snow at our big launch this week but it's a fair trade off not having had all the organising stress!

How's everyone doing?

MrsFtn · 28/11/2014 15:02

How annoying, I just wrote a long post on my phone and lost it! Angry

Yay strawbs how exciting! I'm very jealous of you Envy as it's my due day TODAY and I also had a sweep yesterday but so far nothings happening. Mw said she could only get the tip of her finger around so ideally he needs to drop lower for it to be most effective. Got another sweep booked for Wednesday and will talk about induction then but I'm hoping to avoid that if possible. Looks like I was right to stay in the December thread after all!

Will name check again when I get on the laptop for fear of losing it all again on my phone!

CoventGarden75 · 28/11/2014 20:23

where is the week gone? and still no first baby?

i've discovered that 'being at work or going swimming' was an easier decision to make than 'staying in bed or going swimming', i still went to the pool though and it was lovely.

franks & basgetti how exciting to have the dates sorted.

ohhh penguin sorry you're in pain, but probably a good choice to move around rather than stay at home if it makes no difference to the discomfort. And if i were you, i'd be happy not to have to deal with what's going on at work. Time to concentrate on you and mini you Grin

regular good news on the gtt Smile

strawbs reduced movement are scary aren't they? baby here alternate between super active and nothing, which made me panic the other night and got the doppler out, heart beat was fine. Deep breath...

and what's with all the sweeps, i have never heard of it before Blush

38+1 and very grateful i still have no aches and pains to complain about

CallingAllEngels · 28/11/2014 20:44

great news strawbs

I am very behind you all. Had my last day at work yesterday so just started ML - 35+5 !

MrsFtn · 28/11/2014 22:32

On the laptop now so able to type properly again!

Franks – sorry to hear you’ve been through the ringer – I’ve never heard of a silent migraine before – glad you are feeling better. Congrats to you and basgetti on getting a date for ELCS, It must be nice knowing how and when baby will make an appearance.

Penguin I agree with convent – don’t think about work, just be glad to be out of it and think about yourself and baby penguin. I am with you on the painful walking – I’ve also had a cough too and feels like my ribs are bruised from coughing and baby kicking. Also getting really out of breath really easily - just walking up the stairs has me hyperventilating!

Happy ML Engels! Hope you manage to take it easy in the run up til xmas, you must be due around then?

Covent – well done for getting to the hairdressers – it was something I've been meaning to do but now I feel so big and uncomfortable I don’t think I can sit there for that long! How long was your hair before? Mine is long and thick so I usually spend ages at the hairdressers while they dry it and straighten it but I'm too scared to go for a shorter cut as I've never had short hair.

Still trying to do all the right things here to get baby out - nothing seems to be working though.

Hope everyone has a good weekend - another week has gone by without a thread baby!

regularbutpanickingabit · 29/11/2014 02:39

Came in for monitoring at 8.45 and now stuck in hospital for god knows how long because baby transverse again.. Woman labouring in huge pain and very loudly across the bay, poor woman next to her vomiting every 20 mins. I am exhausted, kids so upset I am in here, dh super stressed and trying to hold it all together.
Nightmare.

CoventGarden75 · 29/11/2014 03:25

Oh no, regular, how stressful Sad fx you can get a rest soon.

ftn baby will come when ready, hopefully not long to go now. Eek I can't believe you've passed your EDD. As for hair, mine was long and thick, now shorter by, say, 10 to 12 inches. I'm taking it relatively well, 3 years ago, I did the same and felt like I'd lost a limb. I guess I was better prepared this time Grin if you decide to cut i'd recommend going in stages, cos it can be traumatic if used to long hair. I could talk about hair all night, but I shut up now.

MrsFtn · 29/11/2014 14:38

How are you now regular ? It really does sound like you had a nightmare time of it. Has baby moved again yet? Hope you are home now Flowers

regularbutpanickingabit · 29/11/2014 15:33

Still here and possibly here for the next 10 days!! So frustrating when I have kids at home that need me. Anyway, if this is the best place then so be it. However, blood pressure not behaving so I think I would feel a lot better at home!
It won't be the first baby on the thread but I will be looking out for that post in here to keep me going. Good luck guys!

Penguin13 · 29/11/2014 17:34

Oh no Regular. Really sorry you have the stress of being stuck in hospital. Hope your blood pressure settles down soon. Did they say what needs to happen for them to let you go home? Sending hugs and wishes for the time to go quickly.

Mrs sorry to hear you've been suffering with a cough and pain walking about too. I spend half my time these days with a wheat bag or cold pack between my thighs trying to soothe my achy bits - the glamour! How exciting that you've reached your EDD but frustrating that nothing has happened yet. I hope baby ftn gets a move on soon.

Hooray for getting to ML Engels. Enjoy it! Hope you get some time to relax.

TinyMonkey · 29/11/2014 19:25

Hello lovely thread, I've been AWOL for months due to sheer laziness. It's been lovely catching up with everyone's progress, can't believe how close we all are to meeting our babies!

Well done on passing your driving test Penguin!

Best wishes to those who have been having a tough time of things.

The 3rd tri has been treating me pretty well, save the annoyance of monitoring my blood sugar and lots of monitoring and scans during the last few weeks. Still, no problems, and managing to get lots done still.

I've been on annual leave/maternity leave for three weeks now and am having an ELCS on Tuesday at 39 weeks as the stubborn baby has remained resolutely head up (and looks like it may be quite big). All a bit real now!

Will be checking in to see how you all get on Smile good luck!

CallingAllEngels · 29/11/2014 20:28

Hope things start moving along for you regular

Yep, due 28th and hoping baby turns up before Christmas. Pretty organised but atm just want to sleep. 1st proper day of ml will be Tuesday when ds is at nursery and I'm going to make the most of it!

Welcome back tiny and good luck Tuesday!

CoventGarden75 · 30/11/2014 18:24

evening all, hope you're all doing well and relaxing as much as possible.

welcome back tiny and good luck for tuesday, how exciting.

we went to a breastfeeding course this afternoon and my 1st official day of ML is tomorrow. i thought sleep would get better without work but noooo, still awake for 3 hours at night, oh well... i still get to sleep a bit longer in the morning.

I have very few pictures from this pregnancy, most of them are the ones that have been posted on here, i.e. of the bump without my head. DP has arranged for a professional photoshoot tomorrow, but i don't have much clothes that fit, he suggested doing part of it naked tastefully done of course Blush, would you do it? i am not a confident person, and quite uncomfortable in front of a camera.

38+3

FranksBobot · 30/11/2014 19:32

Evening covent

How lovely of your DP I'm very jealous!
I would do some tasteful nude shots but even just bra and pants can look good. The photographer will make some suggestions and certainly won't expect you to do anything you are uncomfortable with. They may even have a few "props" that you can use to cover up.

Good luck for Tuesday Tiny you may well be our first thread baby! Eek it's all very real all of a sudden!

Me and dd put the tree up this afternoon and have got the advent calendar out ready for morning. I'm planning on finishing the shopping this week so that I can chill a bit before my elcs. I doubt anything will get done once baby is here and it will only be a week until big day then. I have a feeling this will be the last year she believes in it all so want to make it super special.

Penguin13 · 30/11/2014 21:33

Tiny good to see you and how exciting that it's so nearly time to meet your baby Smile Good luck!!!

Covent I'm with Franks what a lovely thought by your DP. I'm pretty camera-shy too but think I would do it. I'm not saying I'd put the pics up in the downstairs loo or anything Grin It would be lovely to have a beautifully shot record of your gorgeous pregnant shape though. Agree that a professional photographer will likely have ways of making you feel comfortable in front of the camera and props to drape/cover an appropriate amount.

It is my official EDD tomorrow but still zero signs and it's all feeling a bit anti-climactic. According to my calculations from ovulation date my actual EDD is not till next Sat so I guess I should relax and enjoy another week of relative calm. I am still hoping to avoid induction though.

How lovely spending the afternoon putting the tree up with DD Franks. There's nothing like Christmas with children around, even once they are past the stage of really believing there is something magical about their wonder at it all. There go my hormones again - already blubbed this week upon seeing a 'baby's first Christmas' card in Marks Blush

FranksBobot · 30/11/2014 22:06

Penguin those pesky hormones have a lot to answer for! I've been crying on and off all day. The X factor even had me crying tonight!
Happy possible due date day for tomorrow! You never know there is still time for it all to start!

Christmas really is magical with children around. I'm already dreading dd nativity though as that usually has me welling up anyway so I'll probably be an absolute state this year. It happens to be called "A midwife crisis" so I am praying that baby franks doesn't decide to make it an actual one!

Thinking of you today Tiny hope everything goes well. So exciting!!!!

CoventGarden75 · 02/12/2014 11:19

Thinking of you today tiny.

December already and Xmas round the corner, franks so nice to decorate and get in the mood with your DD.

penguin belated happy EDD.

Thanks for the advice ladies, there were no full body pics, still i didn't know what to do with myself, but we did some topless ones and i'm pleased DP joined me in some of them. All focused on the belly. I attached one of my bare bump @ 38+4.

Baby moved a lot last night, it felt like she changed position, but still no sign of her intention to make an entrance into the world. Mw this afternoon.

Anyone else? Any signs?

Penguin13 · 02/12/2014 13:58

Covent you look so beautiful. Definitely the right decision to go for it - I'm sure you will cherish those pics in years to come. Frankly I am a little Envy - I don't look that good normally let alone at 9 months pg!

H reckons my bump had dropped last night although I can't really tell any difference Confused He noticed as soon as he gave me a cuddle though so maybe something is happening?! grasps handful of straws roll on thurs and mw appointment!

FranksBobot · 02/12/2014 14:00

Good luck Tiny hope all goes well today Flowers

covent that photo is simply beautiful. So pleased you enjoyed the shoot and now you have some lovely bump pics.

Nothing exciting happening here, I'm in agony with spd and seeing the anethesist tomorrow afternoon but that is it Confused Think these last 2 weeks will drag!!

Good luck Tiny, thinking of you!

Lovely picture Covent, you look amazing!

Hope you get some action soon Penguin, good luck at your MW appt.

Poor you Franks with the SPD, hope your blood pressure is behaving now! 15 days, not long!

My elcs is in 9 days, got to attend clinic both thurs and fri this week for 2 lots of steroids and pre op assessment with anaethetist. Have to make action plan for my meds as I'm already anxious they'll get messed up and I'll be throwing up on the table! Baby moving alot though, still a chance she may turn but tbh I've prepared myself now and I really want it over with.

Hope everyone else is doing well x

regularbutpanickingabit · 02/12/2014 16:15

Beautiful beautiful pic! Covent, what a fantastic memory to treasure.
Tiny - good luck!
Franks - so impressed you have Christmas organised already
Peng - bump drop sounds very encouraging
Basgetti - I hope those 9'days fly!

Update on me - am still in hospital and had a mini meltdown yesterday because each consultant round results nonna completely different plan which is fine but each time we have to change all the childcare cover, my dh has to rethink work plans and the kids get their hopes up or dashed.
On Sunday they said I would have this controlled induction at 38 weeks (today) so I had the steroids etc. Then on Monday they said 39 weeks (so back to my original induction date) awaits me staying here until then and this morning they said maybe from today again depending on baby position and labour ward constraints! Then the ward was too busy so maybe tomorro. Fine, but apparently the consultant came to find me an hour ago and was cross I wasn't already nil by mouth (in case of csection if turn fails) and the midwife was furious because they had also been told it was definitely not today!!!
So, waiting to see consultant again and for a proper plan to be put in place.

Anyway, looks like this baby might actually be here this week one way or another!

regularbutpanickingabit · 02/12/2014 16:16

Geez, apologies for all the typos and autocorrects. Bloody iPhone!

FranksBobot · 02/12/2014 16:54

Regular you poor thing you really are being messed about Sad fingers crossed that someone makes a decision and sticks by it soon. The nil by mouth "just incase" really bugs me! Dd was an EMCS so I had spent the day stuffing my face as had nothing else to do. I'm dreading not being allowed to eat this time but will be sneaking Mars bars into my bag for afterwards so I don't get the shakes!

Blood pressure is slightly better thanks Basgetti I'm now taking regular paracetamol to control silent migraines and seem to be eating better because of it.
Hope your appointments go to plan this week and you manage to get everything sorted out.
Hope you don't mind me asking but what are the steriod injections for?!
