Welcome, welcome, welcome to the 10th grads thread...celebrating the success of Just Shagging in getting us viroids upduffed Grin

For those that don't know, a 'viroid' is from the original JSing thread 1, where someone was trying to type ladies (in reference to all the JSing ladies), but their phone decided to call us all viroids instead!

The name stuck and we've been the JSing viroids ever since.

There is a stats thread here but its a zombie thread so enter at your own risk....... eeeeek

The thread we have graduated from is here in its 26th outing!

There is also a Just Mumming thread in postnatal here once your babies come along, or to keep up with the graduated graduates!

There is also a secret facebook group, if you want to join, Pm me!

So, roll call below please, viroids! Smile

I'm always tired atm. Might try and find a swimming pool I like this weekend tho, there's one close to me but I don't like it, not deep enough and the roof isn't massively high so I feel claustrophobic. I like the airy diving pool type.. God I'm so demanding.

Threatened a work colleague with physical violence today cos he was winding me up in fun, he looked worried I meant it so I told him not to fuck with a hormonal pregnant lady lol

cookielove · 18/07/2014 20:09

I am so tired! That is all!

Hope everyone gets a good rest tonight.

I have such a sore lower back. Right down by my tailbone and then all the way across on both sides. It always hurts a bit anyway but has got much worse. Is this what they mean by pelvic girdle pain?

RPopz · 18/07/2014 23:49

I have that too Wil - massively overdid it on the hoovering earlier and now have a night shift to get through.... Sad.

wilmabedrock · 19/07/2014 00:21

oh no popz, at least I get to lie in bed. Hope your shift isn't too awful.

JuniDD · 19/07/2014 06:47

Hope work was ok rpopz x

Been woken up by the storm. Stupidly read a childbirth thread so now freaking out...

How's Horace and Furry?

wilmabedrock · 19/07/2014 07:30

Is the storm bad Juni? We have nothing up here. The majority of people have fine, straight forward labours. There's nothing you can do except prepare yourself with a bit of knowledge and be willing to be flexible with your choices. For every one person you meet with a horror story there will be another 5 saying 'I did it in under 6 hours with gas and air'. Chances are you'll be grand - not saying it won't hurt a bit though Wink .

RPopz · 19/07/2014 07:37

I'm still in denial about labour... those chapters in my pg books remain untouched.... Wink

90 minutes left at work. Have managed to spend a fair proportion of it sat on my behind so alls good. Can't wait to get home and snuggle up to the pup!

Pissing it down here.... Angry

ZylaB · 19/07/2014 07:43

Been awake since 5.45, why.. Why?

RPopz · 19/07/2014 07:50

I can never sleep in anymore either. Pg is weird.

cookielove · 19/07/2014 08:56

Early pregnancy I was always waking up stupidly early. It got better, but not brilliant. Baby is kicking me lots telling me to get out of bed! Shock

OP posts:
wilmabedrock · 19/07/2014 09:03

My toddler is still in bed. I love her.

FurryScoob · 19/07/2014 09:09

Hope the back aches easing wil & rpopz

horace hope your not too bored in hospital if your still in

I'm getting ready for another busy day sat on my arse doing nothing! Doctors said take thinks easy, DP has decided I have to do nothing for the weekend so I'm not gonna argue!

wilmabedrock · 19/07/2014 11:03

Sounds awesome scoob.

I feel shocking. Really nauseous and back still killing. Think MrWil is going to take the wee one out thank goodness. This is definitely not as fun as my last pg, feeling quite depressed if I'm honest. Probably just as well they referred me to mental health person.

Anyone heard from Red?

HungryHorace · 19/07/2014 11:19

Morning! I'm still in here. :-/ Baby hasn't turned, so no hope of leaving yet. Won't get any decisions as to how to progress over the weekend, so just sitting it out til Monday when I'm going to ask for a plan to be made if baby still hasn't turned.

I'm a bit bored, but trying to keep busy with my cross stitch and I've paid for TV now too. Expensive, but at least it's entertaining.

Sorry people aren't sleeping well. Pregnancy isn't fun, is it? But people are always telling you to sleep while you have the chance. Gives me the rage!!

What plans do people have for the weekend?

ZylaB · 19/07/2014 12:39

Ooh we've just decided to go into town so we can have a gourmet burger kitchen burger for lunch, yum, yum and yum!!

FurryScoob · 19/07/2014 13:07

Sorry your still stuck in there horace hopefully this time next week you'll be at home with a new baby! Hope you have some nice neighbours to keep you company while your there or at least no snorers.

RPopz · 19/07/2014 13:45

Aw Wil - I was wondering last night how you were feeling actually. I remember you saying you felt a bit flat after your scan. Has your mood not picked up since then? Hugs Thanks

Horace you must be climbing the walls!! Hope you're getting plenty of visitors and food parcels!

Enjoy your bed rest Furry and your burger Zy Wink

Have been wondering about Red too x

FurryScoob · 19/07/2014 15:21

Did red get a BFP? I couldn't keep up with the jsing thread & i got jelous of all their shagging so I stopped reading it.

RPopz · 19/07/2014 15:38

Yup she had Ivf and got her bfp Smile Don't think she ever popped in here though and she hasn't been on the jsing Fred in a while x

RPopz · 19/07/2014 15:48

Experienced mamas: what do babies actually need??? (As opposed to all the peripheral junk) I need lists.... go! Smile

JuniDD · 19/07/2014 15:50

Big hugs to wil. Possibly not the same but I found feeling shite for week after week after week really got me down. Add the anxiety about things going wrong on top, it's not really surprising. Be kind to yourself. xx

I just had brunch with friends and then had serious chats after. Home now and hoping for some sleep this afternoon. Seeing friends tomorrow.

The storm is carrying on, on and off! It's not too bad, just lots of rain that does nothing for the humidity!

Glad you're having a rest furry.

Are you whipping through the X-stitch horace? God, hospital is so boring!

JuniDD · 19/07/2014 15:55

Agh, it's hard isn't it rpopz?! I feel like everything is a waste of money/won't be used but then I also feel like it'd be nice for the baby to have some stuff too.

Meant to say before, thanks wil for the words of reassurance re the labour & birth. Thanks. I'm a bit of a researcher, want to know all the possibilities...not always the sensible route! x

wilmabedrock · 19/07/2014 16:53

Thanks guys, need to get a grip of myself. Had a terrible headache though which isn't helping. Hopefully feel a bit better tomorrow.

Nothing wrong with being prepared Juni. I actually did no research before induction last time and it was a bit of an error. Also easier making decisions under pressure if you're aware of what different options entail.

Ok popz vital things are: something for baby to sleep in plus mattress and sheets; clothes (obviously) mostly sleepsuits and bodysuits and hats as you'll have a winter baby; something to keep baby warm when in buggy - blankets probably better for a small baby so they can be removed easily if too warm - winter is actually quite tricky as shops etc are boiling and if you use jackets, snowsuits then they can end up far too hot or you have to keep putting them on and off all the time; feeding equipment - if ff, steriliser, bottles with smallest size teats, if bf then you may also want these plus breast pump and containers for breastmilk; also if bf you probably want some lansinoh (pricey but worth it if you want to hang onto your nipples) and breastpads (prob need these initially even if ff until milk dries up?) vitamins if bf; maternity pads for after birth unless having CS; nappies; car seat (if required); buggy. To me these are the only real necessities.

Other things you might find useful: bouncer chair (some babies don't like lying flat when awake and you want to be able to put them down); playmat/gym with things which hang over them for them to look at; mobile for crib; sling; dummies (depending on your view on these); sock ons - so bloody useful, babies CANNOT keep socks on; monitor (although you may not need this straight away depending on whether you're ok with baby napping downstairs with you etc); few baby toys - they really don't do much at first!

There may be something obvious I have missed ouf but can't think of it now. Oh, changing mats (good to have 2 if you have 2 floors); baby bath or baby bath seat (a lie down one) for normal bath; sudocreme or similar.

Pisghetti · 19/07/2014 16:54

I've been wondering about red too.

So much for Go-Go-Pis. I woke up early enough but DP persuaded me to stay in bed for a bit and it's been raining on and off ever since. I'm so fair weather....

Had to take DS shopping for holiday clothes. Boys clothes are boring. I coo'd over baby girl stuff until he dragged me away.

Popz they need something to sleep on, something to wear and some means of transport. DS was raised on a shoe string - he had a shop soiled travel system (£70 bargain!), a donated cot, a Moses basket given as a gift and a hundred white vests and various yellow and green sleep suits (didn't find out the sex at scan). Everyone bought us clothes for him when he was born so he wasn't short of clothes and bibs for the best part of a year. A changing mat is useful and you'll need more nappies than you thought possible. As I was breastfeeding I used a bucket (proper branded thing, not a builder's bucket!) for sterilising bits and pieces (can't remember the name of the stuff - I wanna say Lipton but I know that's not right... I must be hankering for a cuppa) and later a microwave steriliser when he moved to bottles (it melted on his first birthday. - how apt!).

I did splash out on one of those things that wraps nappies for you - total waste of money and stunk the house out.

I was lucky that my mum was able to get me lots and lots of nappies at 10p a pack. She works for a distribution company and they were a discontinued range that they had a lot of stock of. I commented I would have a lot of newborn ones left over as what does a baby need - four a day? Oh how she laughed! This time I'll start stocking up straight after the dating scan!

Hmmm what else.... A bath is pretty useful but weighs a shit load when full. Use a stand and empty it out in batches! Never really understood the top and tail bowl (but then I was an evil mummy using wipes on baby's bum).

Something has just come back to me. DS had big feet. When he was about five/six months old his feet were stretching his sleep suits which were otherwise ok. I came home from work one night to find his dad had chopped all the feet off. But not carefully - they were all zig-zagged. He looked like a Flintstone baby! We got another month out of them though (just for home - I wouldn't have taken him out in them!)
