I was watching too bimberly and the great British bake off - cake and babies sorted Grin

Confirms my wish for an epidural though, I can't really remember much of labouring with ds, pissed on gas and air for the first half and then epidural for the second Wink

Memphisbelly · 06/08/2014 22:34

Jack I am with you, I was crying and begging to go in the home from home room while they tried to bring me around to idea of an epidural then after hours I agreed then said next time give it me as soon as I walk in the labour ward Grin

JacktheLab · 07/08/2014 06:42

I'd also point out I've heard some amazing stories of natural births a friend of mine did hypnobirthing and she said it was an amazing experience, just not for me, but I wouldnt want anyone who wanted a natural birth to feel I'm criticising their choices :)

BanglesSpangles · 07/08/2014 07:42

Although im quite sure that saying this is going to come back to bite me in the arse, im currently planning on the MLU, with none of the lovely lovely drugs- just quite like the idea of getting back home as soon as poss

Bimberley · 07/08/2014 07:43

I didn't have an epidural with DD and felt every bit of her coming our! The pain is awful! I had one with DS but we ended up with forceps! I'm so undecided on which way to go this time. Would love an epidural but without forceps.

I have a definate bump coming. When I'm laid flat the bottom part of belly is getting big. Can't wait to feel kicks now. I'm 15 weeks today! It's going fast now. Felt first kicks with DD at 15+6 but DS was 18 weeks. I'm hoping it's soon.

Have a good day everyone.

freneticfox · 07/08/2014 08:14

12+5 today since I got put back at dating scan! Has anyone had their dates changed again at the 20wk scan (if you've had DC before)? My DH is really not keen on the idea of a Valentine's Day due date, though I'm trying assure him the likelihood of actually giving birth on that day is near non existent.

Trying to put myself in a positive mindset today, seeing bean yesterday was so wonderful, I want to try even harder to push through the vile nausea and get to a place where I am excited about things.

14 weeks today officially in the 2nd trimester woo hoo. I can't say I'm suddenly glowing, still spotty and have greasy hair. Not as tired though which is a bonus.
I had gas and air and tens machine with ds didn't have time for much else as he was born on 5 and a half hrs.
Think this time will be very different as might have to have an elective c sec.

hanflan · 07/08/2014 10:18

Urghhhh. I was feeling so much better, thinking "oooh I've hit 13 weeks it all gets better from here", and then this morning was a chunder-fest :(
I am so hungry and really need to eat but I just can't face food! Waahhh wahhhh! haha

freneticfox · 07/08/2014 16:21

hanflan I'm having an awful day too, despite trying to start off with a positive mindset... Nausea kicked in around 11am (about 7 hours earlier than usual!!!) and has been getting progressively worse to where I'm currently lying very still on the sofa trying not to throw up.

I just want the good part now, totally miserable.

Bad day here too! Have had awful heartburn which has now turned into nausea :( But I really need some cheese! Extra mature!! What is going on! I want to be sick but also want cheese!
Gaah pregnancy!

shellbyville · 07/08/2014 16:39

I know this is probably linked to feeling sick (all the damn time!) But is anybody else being seriously bothered by smells?? I had an empty, clean lunch box on my desk at work yesterday and I had to put it in a drawer because the smell of the plastic was offending me so much! And don't even get me started on the dishwasher smell... AFTER its clean, dirty doesn't bother me!

freneticfox · 07/08/2014 17:25

shellby - the dishwasher smell - DEFINITELY. DH has had to completely take over dishwasher duty for the past couple of months as I can't bear the smell of it either before or after the wash. Urgh.

Heat seems to be a massive trigger for me as well, was in a meeting at work this morning in a really stuffy room and I had to excuse myself at one point as I was completely convinced I was going to throw up, but managed to control myself once in a cooler room.

Early pregnancy = grim. Definitely making me seriously reconsider our desire to have two DC... having been signed off work twice and now on part time hours, it's just awful having this upheaval so soon.

shellbyville - so bothered by smells. The worst for me is fresh coffee. And I used to love coffee, in fact me and DP probably got together on a caffeine haze! Now I only have to look at it and I feel like heaving!

Hope you all feel a lot better soon.

Memphisbelly · 07/08/2014 19:11

Frenetic with ds I had none of this tiredness or sickness so you may be lucky next time!

My sense of smell is strong I constantly think my armpits honk but dh and my mum have even sniffed up to prove they don't, smell of milk and tea sets me off too. Last time dh seemed to smell I made him shower twice a day!

blankfornames · 07/08/2014 19:12

Welcome back Geeky!

Such lovely scan news all around! Long may it continue! Smells are definitely still getting me- dishwasher, bin, fish, chicken cooking...it's a growing list!

Can I ask you lovely a (nother) question?! This is sightly tmi so sorry in advance. I'm exactly 12 wks today. Had an amazing scan 2 days ago. Having niggles around the baby area today, like cramps but in a very very minor way. I felt a period like trickle a few minutes ago & got the absolute fear. When I did knicker watch, it's a creamy discharge. I've had to put on a panty liner now.
Apologies for being graphic but need to know if this sounds normal. Thank you.

Bangonthedoor · 07/08/2014 19:56

Absolutely normal blankfornames although slightly gross! I think it's where the mucus plug is building up Blush

blankfornames · 07/08/2014 20:04

Thank you Bangs! Gross indeed but delira to hear that it's normal!
I reckon this pregnancy malarkey is turning me into my mother! She worries if she has nothing to worry about!!

GeekyHybrid · 07/08/2014 20:19

Hi blank, yep, I think the pregnancy hormones do make us a bit more anxious / paranoid / worried / illogical (delete / add to list as appropriate!).

I've got to admit that whilst the nausea has pretty much passed I do find the heat really makes things worse for my energy levels, e.g. I have none. Ended up laying on the concrete floor of the tool shed today cos it was so lovely and cool :-/ And I seem to be incapable of sleeping through the night, was awake 0130-0230ish. I was so hungry I ended up feeling sick so there I was in front of the fridge at 2am. Hmmm. The OH is on early shifts so his alarm went off at 4am. No wonder I was tired at work today!

Roll on the blooming phase for us all, please!

Viperama · 07/08/2014 20:45

Hi Ladies - all looked good at scan today. New EDD February 8th so bubba is 3 days older. Was waving hello, such an odd experience looking at baby in your tummy on a screen!

Bimberley · 07/08/2014 21:43

Not long and we will all be blooming!
We have feeling baby to look forward to soon. Still having heartburn and nausea tonight. I haven't managed dinner yet. I don't think I can.

Off to bed to hopefully a better day tomorrow.

freneticfox · 08/08/2014 09:08

Bimberley I am waiting impatiently for the glow, haha!

Last night wasn't actually TOO bad in the end, although I did have a restless night. Putting it down to it being really humid though - I don't deal with heat well at the best of times, let alone with an additional person on board.

Feeling quite queasy this morning, again I think that's probably tiredness. Definitely glad for four hour days at the moment!

OP posts:
BanglesSpangles · 08/08/2014 09:23

Morning all
Heartburn ATTACKS! What with that and restless legs, I spent most of yesterday evening just wandering around the house listlessly tidying thing up

It's really freaking humid at the moment though, isn't it? And I'm being plagued by gnats- just me? I never seem to get bitten this badly normally!

Haha to geeky and the tool shed- have to get your comfort where you can, I guess!

BanglesSpangles · 08/08/2014 09:25

Ha- teach me for not reading messages properly, bimberley's already said it's humid. Gotta love the british need for talking about the weather, eh!

Bangonthedoor · 08/08/2014 09:54

bangles I've just read online that pregnant women are more prone to insect bites! Who knew?! That explains why I'm absolutely covered! Hmm

Memphisbelly · 08/08/2014 12:02

I am an emotional wreck today, keep crying and when not I have a quivering lip trying to hold tears in!
