Morning all, welcome kitkat and longbottomand happy belated birthday proudly

frenetic Yep I've been getting restless legs (and arms) for the last week or so. Seems to be ok in the day and makes an appearance by bedtime so I'm assuming it's something to do with being over-tired in my case

LittleMissSunshine33 · 01/08/2014 08:21

Happy birthday for yesterday Proudly! Welcome longbottom and kitkat.

What are restless legs my legs want to rest! OH and I took the dog for a long walk yesterday and my slow pace was rediculous legs just couldn't keep up!

When's the wedding Geeky?

Bimberley · 01/08/2014 08:47

Yes I'm getting restless legs! Since about 9 weeks! It gets worse towards the end!

hanflan · 01/08/2014 09:09

Oh my GOSH frenetic, yes with the restless legs! If I wake up in the night, I get it really badly and then can't get back to sleep again. It actually feels like it will drive me insane! And I've been getting it on my train journeys to and from work, have to keep wiggling my legs around. Arghhh I hate it :(

freneticfox · 01/08/2014 11:50

It's frustrating as hell... I managed to doze back off about 7am after being awake for 3 hours unable to tame my legs! Hope that isn't a continuing trend!

OP posts:
hanflan · 01/08/2014 12:01

I've heard it only gets worse. Let's not dwell on that haha. I've googled it and some things make it worse. Being too hot, being too tired, eating too close to bedtime, alcohol, eating certain things! Some people are chronic sufferers for life.... I can't even imagine! :(

blankfornames · 01/08/2014 12:06

Must have been a restless night for many last night. I was awake from 4 until 7 before I finally fell back. I don't know whether it's my subconscious but I keep waking everytime I rolled into my belly. Don't know how I'll make it through 6 months without sleeping on my front! Shock

freneticfox · 01/08/2014 13:47

hanflan - to be honest I'd rather have restless legs than nausea, I'm quite content to potter around the house stretching my legs, rather than hugging a cushion, willing the vommy urges to go away!

Five days until scan and I'm starting to obsess more and more. DH is thoroughly relaxed about the whole thing, which is most likely a good thing, but his whole "it'll probably be fine, but if it's not, we'll cope" attitude is hurting my neurotic baby brain.

Also, I turn 30 in December and people keep asking me if I fancy a big party... I'll be about six weeks off full term, so I'm thinking not.

hanflan · 01/08/2014 16:27

Awww my scan is on Tuesday, we will be fine! Apparently it's only 3% of cases where they find a mmc or something, those odds are tiny! In just a few days we will be looking at our wriggling little beans on a screen and it'll be the best feeling ever. Stay positive! :)

freneticfox · 01/08/2014 17:28

I'm certainly trying to stay positive, I just want to know all is well so I can focus on feeling a bit better, it's been a rough trimester!

At scan I was found to be not quite 10 weeks so will be going back again. Now expected end of Feb.
Been suffering with exhaustion a lot and bad nausea, in bed now. Luckily I'm ateacher so on holidays but hate the idea of wasting them like this. Unfortunately I'm going to help run a summer club next week and I'm normally one of the energetic ones! Luckily we've already decided to tell people so won't have to make excuses.

JacktheLab · 01/08/2014 19:10

Hurrah! It's Friday :)

Hello everyone, hello new folks :)

I havent't much to add, feeling less blurgh than I was at the beginning of the week, just waiting now until Tuesday at 11am when I have my scan...

Cookie1831 · 01/08/2014 20:35

GeekyHybrid · 01/08/2014 20:52

Restless legs does not sound fun, seen as I've had nearly every symptom going maybe I can avoid that one!
Littlemiss - wedding is Sunday. Just been running through the last minute shopping list for tomorrow (going to the wholesalers for catering bits) but most of tomorrow is haircut and nails and relaxing!

blankfornames · 01/08/2014 21:12

Congrats & welcome Cookie!

Such exciting time Geeky! I sincerely hope that your ms stays away for your big day. I'll have everything crossed for you that it does!!

freneticfox · 01/08/2014 22:13

Nausea is awful tonight, this feels hopeless! 12+4... come on, body... sort it out.

Hi everyone don't mean to barge in here, I am on March thread so was just having a lurk as I recognise some names- have you tried magnesium for the restless legs? My DH suffers from it generally and mag does help, also good for cramps too.
Just my little piece of info, hope everyone is good on here!

JacktheLab · 02/08/2014 08:24

Oh Geeky! Have a really lovely day tomorrow, hope you have some nice weather :)

Have a good day today everyone, Frenetic, hope you feel better soon!

Agree with rainbow, bananas are a good source of magnesium I think? My dad has terrible restless legs and he eats lots of bananas to help him.

My carpal tunnel has flared up again so wearing ever so sexy wrist splints overnight - hurrah!!!

LittleMissSunshine33 · 02/08/2014 09:20

Happy Wedding Day Geeky!!!!

Welcome Cookie!

Everyone is welcome Rainbow especially with tips!

Went to a French restaurant last night most of the menu contained pate or soft cheeses they weren't impressed having to find a different starter (dry bread and grated cheddar) and when I said steak to be well done she said that it will shrivel in size and lack taste! I'd normally have it rare but it wasn't too bad. Moral of the story don't go to French restaurants whilst pregnant!

Bangonthedoor · 02/08/2014 11:37

Hi all,

Just caught up on all these posts - just got back from our camping trip....god I'm knackered!

Happy wedding day! I hope it all goes really well Thanks

I had my scan on Thursday which went really well and saw our tiny bubba fidgeting lots Smile due date not changed so still 6th February making me 13+1 today.

Although I'm starting to feel a bit better sicky and energy wise, I do feel a bit down Sad today would have been my mums birthday and I still can't believe she's not here. Also what I thought was just insect bites on my left boob have just got more and more red and sore....starting to look more like pressure sores, has anyone experienced anything like this? I can't even wear a bra and even without the throbbing raw feeling is killing that boob.

DD is asleep so I'm going to get my head down in hope that I wake up feeling positive! Xx

Surf25 · 02/08/2014 11:47

Happy wedding geeky! Exciting times!
Welcome to any newbies
Just a quickie as saw some folk mentioned restless legs..my tips are kiwi and banana are good to give you so magnesium and tonic water is good as the quinine in it helps Smile I remember them from previous pregnancies - not much fun!
Hope everyone has a good day

Bimberley · 02/08/2014 15:57

Hope you have a fantastic wedding Geeky!
Horrible restless legs at the moment. Trying to have a nap. DH and DS are sleeping and DD is watching a film. Everytime my eyes close DD starts talking or singing! She's such a chatterbox!

I'm off to eat a banana and try to stop this restless legs.

freneticfox · 02/08/2014 18:30

Bangonthedoor - sending big love. My Dad passed away very unexpectedly 18 months ago and it's still a massive daily thing for me.

Thanks for the tips on restless legs - I actually have some magnesium tablets, will give 'em a try!

Hope the wedding is going swimmingly, Geeky, enjoy every minute!

Why can't you get hold of a midwife when you want one. Leave a message and they'll get back to me within 48hrs.
Still bleeding slightly when wiping. Completely panicking my cervix won't hold out until I see consultant in 3 weeks.

Cookie1831 · 03/08/2014 13:32

Frenetic ring 111 they should be able to get you a midwife or dr that can refer you to the on call gynae team at your local hospital x
