Very sorry to read your post, flight. Take care xx

Bimberley · 25/07/2014 22:17

Thanks Memphis! Good to hear time speeds up slightly now. The first 12 weeks drag!
I'm so sorry to hear that Flight. Thanks

LondonBOB · 25/07/2014 22:56

Flight, so so sorry to hear your news.... Your attitude is the right one and amazing, take care.

Maddy I'm also due February 14th, although not formally confirmed....

BanglesSpangles · 26/07/2014 08:27

Sorry to hear your news, flight, props to you for how youre handling it xx

hazzer blatantly didnt go for the run- i was actually asleep before 9! Blinking knackered yesterday, but im awake and raring to go now, so will report back later!

cactusnic · 26/07/2014 09:07

We told DS this morning, since that's me "officially" 12 weeks Grin

BanglesSpangles · 26/07/2014 09:46

How old is ds cactus old enough to 'get it'? Is he excited?

Runnerwatch:For anyone thats interested, pre-bfp, I used to average about 6 mins per km, running a max of 20k a week over 3 sessions...

For the last six weeks or so, although ive not wanted to admit it, ive been absolutely shagged out, and havent wanted to go, so Havent been out at all but decided enough was enough before i lost the inclination entirely

decided to take the first run back slow (ended up being about 7 and a half min k's), stop and walk as much as I wanted and only go out for 2k to start things off, but it was glorious- so nice to be back out there, even if it was a bit hot! Oh, anf i might need a new sports bra, as it was a bit of a squeeze getting in mine!

Looking forward to building the distance back up to normal, even if im clocking up slower speeds

BanglesSpangles · 26/07/2014 09:51

Ha another epic post from me- apologies! (Hope its of interest to someone!!)

hazzerw · 26/07/2014 10:14

Sorry to hear your news Flight. Look after yourself x

Exciting Cactus! Although this is my 2nd, there are 3 children in our family and we'd like to tell them next week because we're all off to Camp Bestival and I'm not going to be as energetic as usual! All down to Tuesday's scan.. Really interested how telling sibs goes!

Wow Spangles! Mightily impressed. I prob was only running 10k ish a week but enjoy a park run now and again. Had just bought some barefoot shoes that have only managed to try for about 1mile (!) so far. Slowly does it tho.. Feels too hot to run.

Is anyone else wishing they could 'like' comments?

BanglesSpangles · 26/07/2014 10:26

Oooh i bloody love parkrun! Once i know i can get round 5k again, im getting right back on that!

Bothofyou · 26/07/2014 10:40

Finally feeling brave enough to stop lurking and say hello. Am 9wks, 2days with dc3, although the last time i gave birth was 2008 so feel like a newbie! Forgotten everything. Looking forward to getting back to exercising but still too exhausted and nauseous to contemplate it! Due date approx 23/2/14 according to early scan yesterday! Must buy new bras too, theyre absurd.

Bimberley · 26/07/2014 11:49

Hi bothofyou! I need new bras too! Gone up a cupsize already. Wearing a dress today and I'm looking a cross between pregnant and just wobbly! Hurry up bump!
Am suffering with a horrible headache this morning and we are off to a fete this afternoon!
I could do with sleeping!
Hope everyone enjoys their weekend!

Memphisbelly · 26/07/2014 11:55

bimberley 4 cup sizes hereShock Shock

LittleMissSunshine33 · 26/07/2014 13:16

So sorry flight! Thanks

Welcome bothofyou and any other newbies I've missed!

Bangles way to go! I cheered when my midwife said gentle exercise I enjoy walking and swimming but hoping to try running after the baby at the rate I'm putting on weight I am going to need to!!

Anyone else feel they have put on more weight than expected this early on?

GeekyHybrid · 26/07/2014 15:09

Thinking of you flight Thanks

Littlemiss I've put on 4kg, I think entirely in weeks 5-9 when I had the awful ms and the only way to function was to eat through it, every hour! :-/ Luckily the wedding dress is a forgiving cut but it is a bit tighter than I intended. One more week (bites nails).

Told all the girls last night on the hen night, jubilation all around, except the sis-in-law but she's always been a miserable thing with no sense of humour. She gets all sour if joke about 'preparing the cupboard the stairs'. It was a quite sober affair on the whole, 3 of us expecting from late Dec to Feb!

Went shopping for some more comfortable trousers today, only managed to find one pair of jeans in the New Look sale but most of the shops are considered smaller branches so don't even have maternity - M&S, Next etc.. Hmph. Ended up in Sports Direct for shorts. The Mothercare had so little choice it was silly. I think a shopping trip to a bigger city may be required after the wedding :-D

Monster post by me too bangles! Keep well all, xx

freneticfox · 26/07/2014 16:56

So sorry to hear, flight. Best of luck in forthcoming months xx

Struggling with heat today, must have munched through at least 10 ice poles!

Geeky I live near a city not even the superstores of m and s, Next, DP or New Look stock maternity anymore, according to Next they only do online or instore ordering. I can recommend the Next maternity Linen trousers, best trouser ever! h and M and Jojo Maman bebe have maternity instore.
i havent actually put any weight on but I have gained a lot of inches but I am only eating a very small amount every day still

thingsarelookingup · 26/07/2014 20:02

Exciting cactus. How did he react? And let us know how things go when you tell your brood too hazzer. We also told DS today because we are going to get him to tell the grandparents tomorrow. He seems happy but a bit confused. He is almost 3 so he really doesn't get that it isn't here now or about to arrive shortly. I think he would've had the same reaction if we told him that aliens would be landing soon. His best friend is a big sister though and he always wants to do whatever she does so that will help.

Only 1 week to go - very exciting geeky.

I'm impressed by those of you getting back in to running. I have never been one for exercise and I am not about to start now. I'm generally proud of myself if I'm still awake at 9 at the moment Smile.

Welcome both.

Bothofyou · 26/07/2014 20:41

Thanks all. Good to be on here! I have bought h&m maternity leggings and two of their long tops, but am nowhere near big enough to justify wearing them yet, although am increasingly restricted by what firs in my usual clothes! I've put on tons of weight but my boobs are ridiculous (bulging out of 30F) and I am so bloated by the end of everyday that I shall blame that. I was pretty slim and running daily six weeks ago, hey ho, can aim to be that way in a couple years!! Haven't told my dcs yet as am too worried about scans etc. also as things said, they have no concept of time.

Stopped taking pregnancy re as it gave me awful ms, and taking frolic acid plus from waitrose now, which has calcium and vit d too - any other vits/mins I need? Am eating well.

Bothofyou · 26/07/2014 20:42

Pregnacare*

cactusnic · 26/07/2014 21:00

DS is 7, and he's very happy, although we've had some difficulties this evening - down to his autism, and relationship with his biological father (who i split with when he was 3, after many years of domestic violence).

He doesn't see his dad often, and is now pretty confused about this baby's relationship to him, wanting to tell him straight away etc - i'm not over the moon about him finding out full-stop, but i accept it'll happen - i'm just not having it happen until we've told all our friends and family...and, it gets complex and led to a major meltdown with DS tonight...sigh. So yeah, that's all put a bit of a downer on what was a very happy day telling DS - but we knew it wasn't all going to be plain-sailing, with the history.

Memphisbelly · 26/07/2014 22:48

Cactusnic sounds like quite a hard situation but glad ds is pleased.
Ds is such a good kid but past few days he has been challenging and not listening to dh especially, I reckon it is down to the baby and the fact that dh has been working loads.

Went out to a world buffet place tonight, it was ok, couldn't eat much really though and we were put 2 flights of stairs down from the food floor....3 from the street level, it about killed me off! We are camping next weekend should be fun as I am nit sleeping well!

JacktheLab · 27/07/2014 06:16

Morning all,

Was at a family party, my cousin was there and she's due her first so I didn't say anything but they all guessed, but said nothing to me, just my dad, which is fine cos I want her to get fussed over as it's her first if that makes sense?

Hoping the weather cools down soon, it's still boiling!

Burmama · 27/07/2014 06:47

I had opposite experience last night Jack. Was at a dinner party and had the hosts well and truly convinced I wasn't drinking because on antibiotics. And then a friend I hadn't seen in awhile walked in, plonked down next to me, took one look at my water glass and goes "omg, are you preg???" Hard to pretend after that so cat is out of the bag. Still not showing at all though so going to continue keeping quiet at work. Wink

Bimberley · 27/07/2014 07:23

Morning all!
Had a crap evening. Find out my whole family had a get together and only I wasn't told about it! Apparently it was bought up in conversation a month ago! And not one person has rang and told me!
Its not the first time they have done this so I suppose I should be used to it!
My DD was extremely hard for a few days after telling her about baby. It coincided with DH working longer hours and she didn't handle it very well! She says she is excited now though!
What's everyone up to today?

Memphisbelly · 27/07/2014 07:41

Bimberley ah thats a bit crap on your family, interesting to hear about dd though, hoping this phase with ds passes.
Today we need to sort our gardens out, as I have had no energy our front looks hideous, then we need to fumigate kitchen, we have friends over for a takeaway later, im usually so house proud but haven't had enough energy to do much so it needs sorting! So nothing exciting for us here
