Hi,

Tentative post here - got 2 faint BFPs on Sun/Mon (period only due yesterday.
EDD seems to be between Feb 28 - March 1st depending on whether I use standard 28 day cycle or adjust to my 30 day one.
DC2 for me - DS was 8 days late so think I'm more likely to belong in the March club than Feb.

Will do another test in a couple of days to get the elusive dark line so I don't think I'm making it up

Hope someone else joins me soon.

Ooo good luck for your scan Turkish, looking forward to hearing how it goes! Brisgirl I hope the doctor is right and that things settle quickly, I'm sure you must be really uncomfortable.

As for disguising drinking I too am at a loss. Sparkling elderflower by bottle green and non alcoholic beer all make good looking substitutes for the real thing but like many of you my real friends will see straight through it. The only way I can think of managing it is either having an ally to help (like the gin and lemonade!) or hoping that those who do notice are discreet enough to let you share your news in your own time and not to point out your newfound abstinence to a whole group.

Has anyone had any hormonal meltdowns yet??

woodlandwanderwoman · 07/07/2014 21:40

Thetraah I don't think it's ever too early to have baby brain, I have nearly put Aptamil powder in my morning coffee rather than DS's bottle three days in a row now.

FoscarC · 07/07/2014 22:21

woodland yes. I had an utter meltdown the day before I got my BFP. I had to wait until 18dpo to poas as my dh was away and wanted to be there. I was so convinced that I was going to get af and it was all very overwhelming and then my sister gave birth to a little girl on the day before dh came home and she called her the name I always wanted to call my little girl if I ever have one (although I've now changed my mind anyway), and I had an utter meltdown. Cried for about 2 hours solid. Then started again when my mum called me to check I was ok as I'd begun my meltdown on the phone to my sister when she was telling me about the name. And then again when speaking to dh. It was exhausting. I am not a crier and literally spent all day bawling. I was an utter wreck. Quite embarrassing really.

Rainbow555 · 08/07/2014 01:12

woodland not quite made it to meltdown stage yet but certainly seem a bit more irritipable which DH keeps pointing out!

foscar glad you have found another name or at least change your min do the one you wanted..fate it a weird thing and the name of you dc will be just right and perfect for them! And I am pretty sure we are entitled to blame the hormones for the embarrassing meltdowns!
All the best for your scan turkish

PickledPorcupine · 08/07/2014 04:56

Hello everyone, can I join? I got my official bfp last night after very faint lines over the weekend.

PickledPorcupine #1 edd 18/3

to July bus passengers.

woodlandwanderwoman · 08/07/2014 05:09

Welcome pickled and congratulations!

Foscar I'm glad you have another name, rainbow is right but it must have come as a surprise. As we all know, surprising pregnant women is only likely to have a good outcome if cake or similar is involved.

I asked as I think I had one yesterday. DH couldn't believe how upset I was about him phoning me at 5pm to say he couldn't pick up DS from nursery, when the only reason he was picking him up was because I had something really important (at 5pm) 2 hours away from home (cue me scrambling friend at last minute). I am in two minds as to whether it was the hormones making me irrational or whether I was nbu to be upset, but either way I felt sick as a dog and on the verge of tears and just went straight to bed!!

Good luck today Turkish, we have booked a scan privately at 8w as too impatient to wait!

ZylaB · 08/07/2014 06:29

I had a meltdown and nearly cried cos the cafe place we went to over the weekend before going for a lovely walk didn't actually serve what I'd decided I wanted to eat on the way and I was disappointed. I actually sat at the table with my lip wobbling, DH didn't know what to do lol.

notoasthere · 08/07/2014 07:03

Good luck today turkish!

I'd be mad at that too woodland - not unreasonable at all!

I'm thankfully feeling much better after a full nights sleep, I was v thankful to my mil for rescuing me yesterday!

ProudAsPunch92 · 08/07/2014 07:36

Sorry, should have said - this will be baby # 2 and edd is 19/3/15 at the min x

woodlandwanderwoman · 08/07/2014 07:47

Congratulations punch!

Zyla that's totally understandable, and if you're hungry too that makes it so much worse!!

woodlandwanderwoman · 08/07/2014 07:47

Glad to hear you're feeling so much better toast Smile

tannyLoo · 08/07/2014 10:12

OK, I'm going to be brave and jump in!

I'm 5 weeks today, EDD 10 March. This will be #3 for me, but I've had 5 MCs in the last 18 months, so am definitely not counting my chickens. I'm under a specialist consultant in Coventry and receiving some additional medication and support. I had a scan last Friday at 4+3 and had a sac the right size and in the right place. I'm back for another scan next Friday, when I should be 6+3, and desperately hoping to see a HB.

I'm very symptomy, very nauseas, racing heart, dizzy, tired, big boobs and with insomnia. So far so good. I like them as they offer some reassurance!

I'm ancient, at 42 I should probably stop, but this is hopefully the one that'll work out.

I look forward to getting to know you, and can I be added to the stats please?

notoasthere · 08/07/2014 10:21

Congratulations tanny welcome. Will keep everything crossed this is a sticky one - it sounds like you are in good hands

FoscarC · 08/07/2014 10:47

Hi tanny and welcome. Really hope that this one works out for you. Huge fingers crossed. The symptoms sound positive. I feel really sick some days and fine ish on others. And when I feel sick I long to feel better and when I feel fine I long to feel sick as I know it's a positive sign! I am calming down a bit more every day that goes by though. This is my first so quite nervous. I'm 6 weeks today (I think).

I think all our meltdowns are understandable. We are growing babies for goodness sake! That's pretty hardcore and exhausting work!

northdownmummy · 08/07/2014 13:42

Hi ladies

This will be my 2nd baby, due date is 1St march.

Had been feeling a bit tired and sicky last week. From the weekend I've been much better but rather than being grateful I'm now paranoid .....oh the joys of the long wait till that first scan.

fourmonthstogo · 08/07/2014 18:05

Thank god that working day Is finished. It was unusually dull and I was dying to shout out to everyone "I'm having a baby!" but I managed to restrain myself! I've spent the whole way home yacking on to my mum about the baby, she's the only one other than us that knows!
Welcome tannyloo and northdown, congratulations. Fingers crossed for next Friday tanny.

Littleturkish · 08/07/2014 18:45

Welcome all newbies!

Scan today was amazing- can't believe they could see all that at just 5 weeks!! I'm 5.6 and they've moved my due date to the 4th- sorry Mrsw!!

They could see sac, yolk and heartbeat- just amazing! Booked in for 12 weeks now and can't wait!

bouncesky · 08/07/2014 18:50

That's fab littleturkish! How amazing! Glad everything is okay Grin

ZylaB · 08/07/2014 18:52

Sounds fantastic littleturkish, glad it was all good :)

tannyLoo · 08/07/2014 19:01

Lovely news Little!

notoasthere · 08/07/2014 19:09

Yay turkish that's wonderful

I've been so tired today despite 9 hours straight sleep (after 18 months of ds who didn't sleep, 9 hours is equivalent to a year) so I can see me being off to bed shortly!

Fergie11 · 08/07/2014 20:10

Fantastic news little ??

bouncesky · 08/07/2014 20:17

Notoasthere, I know what you mean! The tiredness is awful Hmm I just keep telling myself it'll be worth it Smile

PickledPorcupine · 08/07/2014 20:36

Thank you for the welcome Smile

TerrysNo2 · 08/07/2014 21:29

Hi all, I would like to tentatively join you. My stats look like this:

Terrysno2 #3 EDD no bloody clue Grin

I got a BFP today but I had, what I thought was, a period 2.5 weeks ago (bright red for 4 days) Confused Confused I only tested as I had 6 days of really strong positive OPKs

Using a CB digi this afternoon with very weak sample (lots of water!) it says 2-3 weeks which would mean I could have only conceived from DTD around 10 June.

The doctor has agreed to send me to EPU for a scan because of the bleeding and I've had some cramps so I'll hopefully know more in a few days.

Whatever happens I thought it would be a good place to get some support for this as only DH knows in RL.

I already have a DS (5.5) and DD (2.5) and we live near Aylesbury.
