Hi,

Tentative post here - got 2 faint BFPs on Sun/Mon (period only due yesterday.
EDD seems to be between Feb 28 - March 1st depending on whether I use standard 28 day cycle or adjust to my 30 day one.
DC2 for me - DS was 8 days late so think I'm more likely to belong in the March club than Feb.

Will do another test in a couple of days to get the elusive dark line so I don't think I'm making it up

Hope someone else joins me soon.

Oh Bris that's awful Sad - hope your GP can do something to help.

Can completely sympathise, I've had a bad back from the age of 10/11, actually managed to fracture it in 2 places 3 years ago next month, but I've got localised arthritis, dehydrated discs and some nerve root compression. Normally my weapon of choice is a lovely combination of tramadol and ibuprofen. Not sure how I'm going to get through a flare up!

I don't know if this will help at all, but I've doubled my efforts in terms of doing my physio exercises and intend to start "pregnancy Pilates" to try to strengthen the muscles in my back. I wonder if there might be any physio etc that could help you? Although if you have metal work there already you have probably got extensive knowledge of physio!

ohfourfoxache · 07/07/2014 08:15

notoast - hope you managed to at least get some rest in the early hours x

HollyBen · 07/07/2014 09:04

Hi all. Popping in tentatively to introduce myself.
hollyben dc#2 due 3March
I had a mc back in Sept and one before I had DD so I am extremely cautious. 5+6 Booked in for an early scan at 8+2. I will probably lurk until then.
DD is 3 and a bit. Her edd was 4/3 so will be almost 4 when dc #2 is due. We live in central Scotland.

Pain relief wise, paracetamol is safe during pg. As is something else which is escaping me - let me have a think and get back to you

fourmonthstogo · 07/07/2014 09:06

brisgirl that sounds horrible, I hope your gp can suggest something to help. I find paracetamol bloomin useless " oh, you're in labour, have a couple of paracetamol"!

ohfour I know exactly what you mean but in v different circumstances. I only came off the pill last month so to be pregnant already seems amazing. It's far too early workwise, I won't get statutory now, but I didn't want to leave coming off the pill in case it took ages -I'm not so young anymore after all! Suffice to say I'm not looking forward to telling work but that is way off yet. I feel very lucky, although it doesn't feel very real yet!
Have a good day everyone!

Rainbow555 · 07/07/2014 09:08

Hi everyone, can I join? to notoast and foscar
I have had two faint bfp last two days. Af due Wed so it still doesn't seem real yet! Bit worried it is too soon and it won't stick etc etc all seems a bit surreal!
Also got lots of cramping which is very unsettling but it is a little reassuring to see many other posts in this thread about cramps and still can aches!

Managed to get to see the doctor I wanted to see today by ringing up first thing this morning, I had originally been told 29th July was earliest appointment to see her! She gave me the huge pregnancy pack and said midwifes do booking in appointment at about 10/11 weeks, so she would put me on their list. That seems ages away! All seems a bit more real now.

NotAQueef · 07/07/2014 11:33

Welcome to even more newbies Smile

Sitting at my desk trying not to throw up. The manly smells of my colleagues are not helping bleurgh. Thank god the 60 a day guy is not in today the smell is bad enough usually.

I also have a project go-live today and as a result some celebration drinks – there are only 5 of us and I was very loud about wanting champagne a few weeks ago. Might have to have one small glass so as not to arouse suspicion.
I have two weddings in the next 5 weeks too – s’gonna be fun trying to keep a low profile on the drinking front.
brisggirl hope your GP can give you something to make the pain better.

holly and rainbow - welcome!

FoscarC · 07/07/2014 13:01

Welcome to all the newbies. And hello again rainbow.

I am not a doctor, but work in the medical field and according to my doctor friends, paracetamol when taken correctly is the best painkiller around. I am sceptical about this but may be worth taking it regularly and see if that helps?

All good here. Did have a hello with the toilet this morning. My first true toilet hug experience through all this. Dh brought me breakfast in bed. Took one mouthful and had to swiftly head to bathroom. Feel fine now. As longs as I keep snacking. I think the mornings are worse as I haven't eaten for a while. Really wanted to feel nauseous as it would make this all feel real, but actually it's pretty horrid. Feel fine now though. Just constantly tired. And getting up 3 times for a wee in the night didn't help. Nearly wee'd myself in a meeting this morning. Only female and most junior in a meeting and the environment I work in you don't leave for a wee. As soon as I can be open about this the better.

Still waiting very impatiently for my midwife to call to book appointment. Am sooo excited but really trying not to get too carried away. Dh has no such concerns and has already emailed our NCT branch as he heard they can get booked up early. And he is thinking of names. And planning on ways we can tell our families. It's very lovely. But I'm trying to stay grounded for now. Got the mumsnet pregnancy book which is hysterical but last chapter I read was all on mc's which was awful. But everyday that goes by so so slowly is another step closer on.

If anyone has any good tips on how to avoid drinking please let me know. I am renound for liking my wine and turning it down is a fairly obvious sign from me.

fourmonthstogo · 07/07/2014 13:55

I've just got my Dr app for Saturday morning to start the ball rolling. Very exciting! apparently the midwife booking appointment us not until 10 weeks here, last time round it was at 8/9 wweeks . I feel all excited now and am really struggling not to tell everyone!

fourmonthstogo · 07/07/2014 14:02

FoscarC - I have no idea how to fool close friends on the drinking front, all my friends that knew I wanted a baby last time guessed straight away! But non alcoholic lager in a pint glass fooled some people, but it's not that nice, and loudly ordering gin and lemonade but actually having husband get me just lemonade fooled some people!

Brisgirl · 07/07/2014 14:35

Hi all, thanks for the sympathy. Managed to see GP first thing this morning and she has talked me round to hanging in there with the paracetamol for a bit longer as she is convinced it's just a progesterone surge causing pain in my weakest muscles. Want to do what's best for the baby obvs, so willing to give that a go for a bit longer.
Also picked up forms for midwives...will return them ASAP although GP said I probably won't have a booking appointment till 10/11 weeks along which does seem ages away!!
Foscar I find that saying no to a drink draws lots of attention but if you have a drink in hand, no one seems to care whether you actually drink it or not! DH ends up drinking mine as well as his and people don't tend to notice :) Harder if your friends are paying closer attention though! Good luck!

ohfourfoxache · 07/07/2014 14:41

I've just topped my vodka decanter up with water - parents and sis/BIL over last night, and for me not to have a tipple would have been highly unusual!

Anyone else feel like going into hermit-mode for the next few weeks?

pinkandstripey · 07/07/2014 15:45

Happy Monday everyone :) welcome to all the weekend newbies thanks

We told parents this weekend, they're cautiously excited with us. I told early last time too, I'd have to lie to them if we didn't tell and don't like that :( seen a couple of friends with babies in last week too, having baby cuddles and my head is going AARRRRGGGgGgGgHHHhHhHhH SMALL PERSON AND MAD TODDLER WHAT ARE YOU DOING WOMAN!!!!!!!

pinkandstripey · 07/07/2014 15:46

Littleturkish · 07/07/2014 15:53

Just had a phone call for a scan tomorrow! Ohhh worried it will be too soon to see anything!

fourmonthstogo · 07/07/2014 16:54

littleturkish how exciting!

ProudAsPunch92 · 07/07/2014 17:12

Hi ladies can I join please Smile

Got a positive last night then confirmed with clearblue digital this morning :) I think I'm 4 weeks so that would make me due March! I have a little boy who is 13 months old - I must be mad haha!

FoscarC · 07/07/2014 17:25

Welcome proud.

littleturkish scan sounds soooo exciting. I'm sure you'll see something. I can not wait for mine and am getting increasingly impatient about not hearing from the midwife.

Mrsw123 · 07/07/2014 18:33

Ooooooh how come you have a scan Littleturkish? Have you gone private?

Welcome to all the newcomers over the weekend and today - the list is really growing! Sorry for the double post but clicked too soon.

That's really exciting littleturkish - I also had an early scan and you won't se much but a little bean shape is definitely visible.

Hope everyone had a nice weekend. So depressed it's Monday again and back to work...

Wondering if it's too soon to have baby brain - I'm seriously making a mess of everything lately and find it hard to kick-start my brain into action Confused

Littleturkish · 07/07/2014 18:52

Welcome proud

I'm having an early scan due to other health complications, I think my consultant has asked for one- but I don't know why now instead of a couple of weeks to see heartbeat etc but what do I know?? It's the NHS and I'm just grateful to be getting the extra scans so I'll smile and nod.

I hope they'll scan again if they can't see a heartbeat, or I might have ovulated earlier and be a few days further along than I thought.

Fingers crossed for me!

Mrsw123 · 07/07/2014 20:36

Very exciting to see the bean tomorrow! I'm sure everything will be perfectly fine. Fingers crossed for you...let us know how it goes! Smile

Littleturkish · 07/07/2014 20:39

Thank you! I've asked for the afternoon off, it's particularly bad timing as I have such a hectic day. Still, very excited that it's tomorrow and even if it's just a sac at this point, they should have an idea about dates etc
