Hi,

Tentative post here - got 2 faint BFPs on Sun/Mon (period only due yesterday.
EDD seems to be between Feb 28 - March 1st depending on whether I use standard 28 day cycle or adjust to my 30 day one.
DC2 for me - DS was 8 days late so think I'm more likely to belong in the March club than Feb.

Will do another test in a couple of days to get the elusive dark line so I don't think I'm making it up

Hope someone else joins me soon.

Littleturkish I think she's referring to the baby name thread.

DP said I gave him a scare last night with my stomach cramps. Luckily they have eased off today. We have been out for lunch with DS and got him a dog garden sprinkler to run around in when he wakes up from his nap. Not much sunshine here today but it's still so hot and humid.

hlc123 · 19/07/2014 15:32

Littleturkish, I saw your post in the names thread and wondered how you knew it was a girl this early on too!

persepolis123 · 19/07/2014 15:33

It kind of reads like you know it's a girl. But then I saw the other thread where you say you have a boy's name sorted already.

MooMaid · 19/07/2014 15:47

There might be a better forum for posting this but is anyone in Northamptonshire? I keep being seeing (t'internet) that they don't do 12 week scans?!? Anyone know if this is true so that I can book a private one instead as I'm not waiting 16 weeks until I know all is OK

ZebraZeebra · 19/07/2014 16:07

I ended up on a bouncey castle in the park because I stupidly thought DS would be OK on it, and I'd paid for it and I was damned if I was going to waste my money. The other children are lucky I didn't throw up on them. CURSE THIS BASTARD HEAT.

MooMaid · 19/07/2014 16:25

Wow, zebra, I ran across our work car park in mild rain and thunder and almost lost my breakfast over my boss when I got to my desk. How did you manage a bouncy castle!!

Littleturkish · 19/07/2014 16:27

Ahhhh! Of course! No boys name sorted. Just a girls name that is becoming The Thing We Don't Talk About.

Trondheim · 19/07/2014 17:08

Sorry yes it was the names thread you sounded very sure! It might not be the done thing to mention other threads on here? What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas etc.

I went on a bouncy castle 2 days after the bfp and did throw up afterwards. I had food poisoning though. What a day.

Littleturkish · 19/07/2014 18:04

trond no worries! I was just confused!

I do feel strangely sure...but I was positive DD was a boy until the last week when I had a sudden and complete change of heart.

It's 50/50, I like my odds ;)

Have any of you heard of the new blood test (harmony?) that can tell you the gender from 10 weeks? It's very £££ and we won't be doing it, but I quite like the certainty versus guess work reading blurry scans.

ohfourfoxache · 19/07/2014 18:48

Moo that doesn't sound right at all Confused Might be a good idea to call the unit next week just to be sure. Aren't NT scans supposed to be done at around 12 weeks not 16?

I'm having enough trouble getting my head around having a baby, let alone whether it's a boy or a girl! It's weird, we ttc for a long time and all the while I was adamant that I wanted a girl. But now I really don't mind - I quite like the thought of having a boy! But definitely, definitely going to try to find out in advance - I can't do surprises Blush

FoscarC · 19/07/2014 18:59

Well I've had a much nicer day. Brownness seems to have gone, don't want to speak too soon, but fingers crossed. Went to a big game fair and had a nice wander about and then did a lot of gardening, well, gently assisted my dh as he did. And I just feel so much more at ease than I did. I read somewhere that positive mental attitude is very important during pregnancy. So I'm taking that route now!

ohfour I know just what you mean. I am finding it weird to comprehend that I'm having a baby. And also always wanted a boy but am now automatically imagining that my little bean is a girl. I don't know which I'd prefer now. And to be honest I don't think I care. As long as it is ok then I'll be over the moon!

FoscarC · 19/07/2014 19:00

Ooh, and I really want to keep the sex of it a surprise. dh wants to find out but I really don't want to. So we won't.

junkfoodaddict · 19/07/2014 19:06

Well I have an incline we're having a boy! I can't explain it except for the old midwife tales of I am not suffering acne (yet!) and my hair hasn't gone limp and dull - just dry. But I am hugely hormonal and it comes on very suddenly.
On other news, my booking in appointment came to day - Thursday 14th August at 1pm so I will be 8+3 weeks.

ApplebyMennym · 19/07/2014 19:57

More bright red bleeding. Still not gushing but definitely there. Sorry this will be tmi but both times I have been straining a bit to go to the loo. I googled and apparently this is quite common, a sensitive cervix. I'm petrified of course, and know there is little point going to the hospital as I was only there two days ago and it was too early to see anything.

I'm torn between trying to prepare myself for the worst and thinking positively.

pinkandstripey · 19/07/2014 20:08

appleby would fibregel or lactolose or similar help? Straining is miserable :(

eatscakefornoreasonwhatsoever · 19/07/2014 20:24

Foscar - was that the fair at Blenheim?

I rang my lovely mw and she's going to come over week after next as she's chokka next week. Will be nice to be a bit further along too. Love that I get my appts at home so ds can just do his thing and I can relax a bit more. And not be hurried, as well

KeeperOfTheZoo · 19/07/2014 20:39

Appleby I have absolutely everything firmly crossed for you - I agree with pink though - maybe something to prevent you needing to strain in the first place would ease the bleeding? Worth a try maybe, and lactulose is definitely safe in pregnancy - I drank it by the gallon first time round as I was anaemic so on iron supplements which made me horrendously constipated.

Foscar fingers crossed for you too now.

eatscake it is nice that you can get your mw appointments at home - will that apply for all of them or just the booking-in one? Last time I had my booking-in one at home (I think more so she could quietly make sure we weren't going to be bringing a baby home to a cow barn or something(!) but then all others were at the Sure Start centre where she is based. I'm guessing all will be there this time, and of course I'll have fewer this time round as I don't think you have as many appointments as you do with your first.

I really don't care what sex we have this time although DH definitely wants a girl - in fact he announced today that he was upset we conceived so quickly as he'd planned to "think girl thoughts" at the vital moment each time but didn't get chance - good job I knew what he meant and didn't knock him out for making statements like that!! Smile

Been crap weather here today, but now DH out and DS in bed so it's just me, the cats and the dog slobbing in front of the TV watching the concert from Edinburgh Castle Smile Brew.

fourmonthstogo · 19/07/2014 20:52

I'm catching up on this week's one born every minute but am on the edge of tears already - but then I almost cried over some mouldy mushrooms earlier so I'm obviously having a weepy day!

coastergirl · 19/07/2014 20:58

Hello everyone.

Can I join you? I've been reading the ttc forum because I've been trying to persuade my hubby that it's time to start thinking about kids. Anyway, we risked it once last month at what should have been too late in the month... and yesterday got a bfp! Fairly faint line on a tesco test, then 1-2 weeks on cb digital. We are very shocked but feel incredibly lucky that it happened so quickly. I am quite scared of things going wrong and just want to know as much as I can!

coastergirl · 19/07/2014 21:03

Also forgot to say that my edd is 15-19 March depending on app! Oh and I feel completely normal which is adding to the feeling of it not being real. I

MaccaPaccaismyNemesis · 19/07/2014 21:17

Thank you for your support today, I'm going to most probably stop posting on this thread now as it feels a bit strange to continue. I'll still be on mumsnet though Smile. Feeling numb and have spent the day feeling weepy or useless.

eatscakefornoreasonwhatsoever · 19/07/2014 21:31

Be kind to yourself Macca. Whatever you feel is normal and the right thing for you to be feeling.

I'm getting very sharp pains low down in one side. Dint know whether to text my mw or not. In combination with the brown ish discharge it is worrying me

tannyLoo · 19/07/2014 21:36

Macca I understand you needing to leave, I have felt the same when I've MC'd. We want to know how you get on though, so please drop by from time to time.

There are some great supportive threads for MC, and a lovely TTC after MC thread when you're ready for that. Please go and introduce yourself, they are a wonderful source of support for dealing with anger/grief/sadness/worry.

I know nothing we can say will make you feel better, but I'm sure you'll get the baby you want.

MooMaid · 19/07/2014 21:59

Cheers ohfourfoxache (love the name btw) thats what I thought about re NT. 16 weeks would be too late for it so doesn't seem right but I've heard it a few times.....

FoscarC · 19/07/2014 22:04

eatscake I hope everything is ok. Try not to worry. But if I were you of call your midwife. I did this morning and if nothing else it helped to put my mind at ease. I really hope it's all ok and remember brown discharge is fairly normal.

macca I completely understand that you don't want to be on here anymore. Please take care of yourself. You are in no way at all useless. It all must be very horrid for you.

apple I agree that lactulose may help. If you're straining then that may be the reason. And as long as it's not a huge amount of blood And it is all related to you straining I'm sure it is all ok. Fingers crossed for you.
