Hi,

Tentative post here - got 2 faint BFPs on Sun/Mon (period only due yesterday.
EDD seems to be between Feb 28 - March 1st depending on whether I use standard 28 day cycle or adjust to my 30 day one.
DC2 for me - DS was 8 days late so think I'm more likely to belong in the March club than Feb.

Will do another test in a couple of days to get the elusive dark line so I don't think I'm making it up

Hope someone else joins me soon.

I've just eaten four packets of Snack a Jacks. FOUR.

ZebraZeebra · 16/07/2014 18:38

I think your uterus just starts stretching and expanding and changing, and the bloating starts really soon to start accommodating all the changes about to come.

M27J5M · 16/07/2014 18:56

I honestly didn't think I'd start bloating like this this early on, thought I had weeks to go before I had to start hiding it lol just need to wear baggy tops etc to mask the boobs/tummy a bit ha ha

ZebraZeebra · 16/07/2014 19:02

Yeah I was very shocked the first time - I had a "bump" at 7 weeks! But pretty much everyone on the antenatal thread was saying the same thing. It's crazy!

ApplebyMennym · 16/07/2014 19:24

My appointment at the EPAU is at 11.45 tomorrow, can I have some hand holding please? I'm so nervous. Trying to prepare myself for bad news so it doesn't come as so much of a shock if it happens, but also hoping and praying it's good news!
Part of me is getting excited about getting my maternity clothes out of the loft, sorting through the baby stuff etc, but I keep telling myself not to get my hopes up.

ZebraZeebra · 16/07/2014 19:30

Oh Appleby hand holding galore. Best of best luck. Come and update us as soon as you can Thanks

woodlandwanderwoman · 16/07/2014 20:18

Lots of hand holding from me too Appleby.

I too have an unmistakeable protrusion, smaller and firmer than a regular belly bloat, but definitely disproportionately bigger than raspberry sized embryo who's apparently in there!

junkfoodaddict · 16/07/2014 21:02

Will be thinking of you Appleby.
Today I have again wanted to slowly murder someone; just anyone really. The aches, stretchiness, pains, boobs, sickliness and just general 'urghness' is irritating me.
With DC1, I found out at 6 weeks with only sore boobs as a 'symptom' but put it down to a delayed period having taken medication to stop me having one on holiday. With this one, I am only 4 weeks and 2 days and already the symptoms are like those I had with DC1 at 7-8 weeks. Is it likely that subsequent pregnancies make you more aware/sensitive to what's going on?

MooMaid · 16/07/2014 21:08

So glad its not me feeling bloated. Saw myself in the mirror this eveing and very nearly cried. I look fat and bloated and big

M27J5M · 16/07/2014 21:15

Hope all goes well Appleby

Lifeisabeach · 16/07/2014 21:24

Can I join please? I'm 4+1 today, due date is around 24th March I think. Had a panic a couple of days ago as the line on the test didn't seem to be getting darker, but got a nice dark line this morning, so feeling a bit more confident now.

This will be DC3; DS is 6 and DD is 4. I had a mc about 18 months ago and we've been trying for almost a year and I'd almost given up hope of it happening.

Symptoms so far - sore boobs, knackered, mega irritable, queasy when I haven't eaten for a while, huge bloated belly!

Feeling very emotional watching OBEM!

persepolis123 · 16/07/2014 21:29

Welcome lifeisabeach congratulations!

I know there are a few of us who have had miscarriages before. Will any of you be asking for an early scan? Wondering whether I should.

eatscakefornoreasonwhatsoever · 16/07/2014 21:40

Put aside my boycott of OBEM for the night - how lovely they featured a home birth?

Lifeisabeach · 16/07/2014 21:47

I'm hoping for a home birth too. I'd wanted one for dc1 but he showed signs of distress so we had to transfer to hospital. Then with dc2, I decided on a hospital birth but DD had other ideas so I ended up with an unplanned home birth - was very scary. This time I'd love a home birth but with a midwife present!!

MaccaPaccaismyNemesis · 16/07/2014 22:11

Quite jealous of anyone who gets a normal birth. I've got to have a c-section due to prolapse after the birth of DS who was a hefty 9lbs 13. Is it true that the second is always bigger? Shock

M27J5M · 16/07/2014 22:56

I'm asking for an early scan Persepolis, got 1 with DS bcos if had 2 mc's previously so hoping they'll give me another this time for peace of mind

hlc123 · 16/07/2014 22:56

Wishing you the best of luck for tomorrow Appleby.

persepolis123 · 16/07/2014 23:11

yes forgot to say good luck appleby, will have everything crossed for you.

What's the earliest I should ask for a scan do you think M27J5M? A lot of people advise not to before 8 weeks in case nothing much can be seen. I'm 6 weeks friday I think and may call midwife next week to discuss.

M27J5M · 17/07/2014 00:27

6weeks is the earliest you can get a scan cos they can't detect heartbeat till then! Think last time I was about 8wks but got it within days of finding out! This time have been told to wait till I see mw at booking app (7th aug) to discuss early scan

PickledPorcupine · 17/07/2014 03:08

3am club today!

MaccaPaccaismyNemesis · 17/07/2014 06:08

Good luck today Appleby

notoasthere · 17/07/2014 06:34

Good luck today appleby

Littleturkish · 17/07/2014 07:09

Good luck today, appleby

Littleturkish · 17/07/2014 07:12

Perse, I had an early scan at 5+6 and they could see the heartbeat, but I've also had one at 8 weeks with my DD and they could see much more- if I could pick I would have 8 weeks.

notoasthere · 17/07/2014 07:26

I'm having an early scan at 8 weeks - they look monkey nut shaped at that age but heartbeat can easily be seen and less chance of needing a transvaginal scan then too
